  1. Just noticed this today, very noticeable in 2nd gear. I plonk my foot down and the boost gauge reads 10psi constant up to around the 5k mark, then as soon as I hit slightly over 5k rev's it slowly decreases to around 5psi! So thats a drop of half boost! The turbo is a ct9a new from turbo technics in march (bill for over £600!) So I doubt its anything turbo related, what else could be causing it then fellas? Cheers, Chris
  2. Simplest mods for increasing boost are a Fuel Cut Defencer and Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator, which should be run together otherwise you'll run lean. Replacing injectors and fuel pump aren't necessarily needed if your running slightly over stock boost, but if you can afford to you might as well! Think, chances are that fuel pump/injectors have been on the car since it was made! So worth changing anyway... Everyone seems to go forged with a TD04 setup, which sees over 200hp so I'd reccomend forging if you plan on breaking the 200hp barrier just for peace of mind really... I'm miles away
  3. Standard bhp: 133hp (6.9secs to 60 for a GT, apparently glanza's are a tiny wee bit slower) Standard psi: hi boost = 9.4 psi Fuel cut: 12psi Insurance: I'm 18, 1 yr NCB, 1 yr Driving, Fully Comp : £1500 with Elephant.co.uk
  4. You got a mechanical boost gauge im assuming? My actuator seemed like 1 turn = 1psi so give that a try!
  5. I managed to pull the actuator arm out enough to whack it in
  6. I've just bought a set of those dampers, they are KYB Excel G Gas shocks and i'll be running them with Tein springs, although they are a slight upgrade over stock from what i've read they aren't that great. but i'm hoping paired with tein springs there will be a noticeable handling improvement...plus my front left shock is leaking oil so needs replacing anyhoo!
  7. I had a stock centre section with silencer and back box and that was fairly loud, but i then got the centre back box cut out and a straight pipe welded in place and now it is bloody loud and backfires all the time (which I love!) - so I would imagine the addition of 1 silencer does make quite a difference! But come on man, loudness is key! lol
  8. Could be a weak actuator yes. As for 125mm, I set mine to 123mm to get 11psi and only managed 9. So I think it varies from actuator to actuator and will be different. Its a pain to keep adjusting, but some people suggested using an R clip instead. As you can see, it would be much easier to get on/off.
  9. Yeah don't use the circlip! I lost mine it pinged off somewhere! I had no room with the efi pipe in place, you must have the hands of a child! lol
  10. 1) Yup, the new HKS tubing goes from actuator to turbo if you want to bypass hi/lo, then you can disconnect all the tubing going to the solenoid. 2) Just push the brass nipple into the black tubing on the actuator side. 3) Yeah you'll have to remove it in order to remove the standard actuator/put in the hks one. It is a bitch to get off as there is no space and its on very tight. Give it 15mins of struggling and it comes off! lol 4) I'm running 0.7bar with no fuelling mods and everything is fine. No boost creep either. Hope that helps.
  11. Yeah any pics of a car with tein springs would be much appreciated
  12. The teins are supposed to give a real aggresive appearance and drop it the full 40mm. Im undecided between rsr and teins...rsr have a higher spring rate so would probably be better for handling..not sure tho, may go with teins!
  13. My brother has the JDM GT4, which is a 3SGTE engine and on paper it is supposed to have 255hp, what rev would that be?
  14. i would get it if i had the money mate. looks much thicker than the stock tmic, would be quite good!
  15. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/starlet-gt-turbo-ep8...1QQcmdZViewItem Looks like its all ready to fit mate, got the rubber stuck on and samco elbows. Bit pricey tho!
  16. Thats tonnes of torque tho mate! Very strange hp reading, but oodles of torque! Must be something to do with the JAM ECU
  17. Thanks mate! My KYB Excel-G shocks just arrived....what springs should I go for?!!? I'm thinking tein, I basically want the best handling possible and will put up with a stiff ride on shite roads if I have to. Muchos gracias!
  18. I wouldnt mine a free TGTT sticker for my £6
  19. On the http://www.ukstarletclub.com/ are the blue dots on the glanza for engine, wheels, brakes, suspension, bodykit and interior? Or are they just random? lol
  20. lol Just stripped the rear out, taken the back seats, spare tyre, jack and the toolkit out and you can definately feel it when accelerating! Love it!
  21. Good, because I want some of your lowering springs...which ones depend on if you ever reply to your PM!!
