Hey some advice: 1. I'd wait til you have 2 years NCB - i've just bought a Glanza and have 2 years NCB i got a quote a year ago and it was shocking. 2. Can't see £40 on fuel being a problem for 250 miles - depending on prices - i filled up with £35 to a full tank and got 282 miles and that with my glanza not running right - Gearbox problems and an air leak causing a dodgy idle. 3. Parts aren't hugely accesible but once you beging to get to know people and use forums like this it becomes so much easier as everyone is always willing to give a bit of advice & help. 4. If you do buy a Glanza cheap and it seems too good to be true, it usually is. I've personally just bought one very cheap but at the same time i was aware it'd easily need 1k's worth of love putting in to it. There's my little pointers - hope they come in handy.

The bloke is 100% classic saxo driver. It is the exact reason they are know for being cnuts and are hated! They gob off about every other car as unless its a gash box saxo it'sobviously shite in their eyes. The bottom line is the bloke who wrote the above doesn't have a flying monkeys about Starlets. All my mates that have owned or do own saxo's pugs, golfs etc etc have all got in my car and some driven it (the N/A - Dropped 40mm on springs) and said how amazing the handling was, how little body roll there is and compared it to a go kart. The fact is starlets have a Low height from chassis to roof therefore decreasing body roll. For example compare the body roll on a sports car to a 4x4. Many of toyota's new cars are the total opposite they use every inch they possibly can, to create more space making a small car feel big - even rerouting the exhuast (on the new shape Yaris) I wouldn't say the stepping out thing is true either have not known either of my starlets, the N/a or Glanza to be that bad - my 306 Derv is 1000 times worse, the back end constantly wants to overtake the front. Saxo's are also reknowned for being dangerous to crash in - the crumple like a paper bag. Yet this bloke says he feels safer in one. IMO let him crack on i hope he wraps his peice fo french crap sround a tree a few times with an attitude like that!

Dont have a clue about the dash stuff, wsn't there when i got it! Well bit of an update. I thought i needed a clutch release bearing as sounded terrible - Ross & Shelly can vouch for that!! Unfortunatley a mate of mine dropped the box out to find a brand new clutch in there already and the bearing fine, therefore relaised it was Gearbox internals - bearing etc. So out came box and thats now with a company Nr Basingstoke being reconditioned. So basically the sneaky shit who sold it to me knew that it wasn't clutch noise as he had obviously replaced the clutch thinking it was. But hey ho soon to have a mint gearbox and not toooo much money atleast. Next i though i had a CV joint gone so ordered the outter joint through my Boyfriends work only to find when my mate looked at it, it was the inner joint thats was really shockingly bad - several of the guys he works with said its the worst state they have seen one in! So now am trying to source the inner joint from someone breaking a Starlet - If anyone can help it'd be much appreciated! So all in all not a good week, the only upside being i still have my 306 sitting around so am not without wheels!! So next thing after this crap is to get a nice set of rims sorted along with decent tyres. A set of new springs or if i feel flush some coilies. Some standard glanza stickers for time being till i can afford the respray that its crying out for! Will prob wait till summer to respray! So yeh thats my update of bad news!!

X2 what Bourkey said. I'm all for making a little N/A look curvy - which mine did with MS designs kit or another curvy kit. But if you buy a jap car thats what you have. I understand the want to be different but you can in many ways without trying to make something what its not.

I had a 1.6Vtec civic first but that was before i passed my test and sold on it before i could drive so i count my first car as my little N/a baby!
-
My car came with loads of stickers on bonnet and on top of sunstrip. Thankfully i scraped them all of bar one patter in corner of windscreen. Im not hugely keen on them!
-
Its one thing i would recommend any car enthusiast to do before they die! The place is immense, i am hoping to head down again this year, loved it last year!!
-
Hey my Glanza came with gashy diamante studs in the glanza logo so am looking for a set of standard Glanza stickers to cover up the mess untill i can afford a respray. Does anyone have any ideas as to where i can get them from? Cheers!

I used to have an N/A and had an MS designs front splitter thats designed for the Starlet. They are still available to buy but are very rare and hard to source. They also are pretty pricey . . . here's the front of mien so you can see the splitter...

Well i finally said bye bye to my first car - my beautiful blurpley N/A with her sexy curves and MS designs kit. She was a wicked first car! Now i've bought a V, i wasn't planning to i wanted an S but this appeared round the corner for a very good price. So thought i begin my WIP thread as it's going to change a lot over the next year . . . I hope. So here's the photo's from the Pistonheads Advert - Notice Gashy stickers, Also the glanza logo on rear quaters isn't a sticker was silly little diamante studs!! - NOt a good look!! I finally managed to get her washed properly and get a layer of Meguiars liquid wax on, which seems to have made her look a little less sorry for herself. Then it battered down with rain! Pictures show her without all stickers on her!
