  1. Want to keep it period modified, only ever going to be a Sunday road car with the odd classic car trackday thrown in. Crap handling is part of the charm
  2. Old shocks replaced with new cartridges, KYB gas & oil jobbies, springs cut, heated and treated.
  3. Once the underside is done it's off to paint for a full re spray in the original gold, and I've got a great retro period vinyl graphics package in my head. Will up date as things take shape. Anyone able to help with engine and gearbox from corolla please get in touch. I have a van and don't mind travelling. Cash waiting. Would also like a LSD ! Here's hoping lol
  4. Lots of new parts going on, lots more welding going on. Got a 1300cc 4k and 5 speed gearbox to pop in for now until I source a 4age and AE86 gearbox.
  5. Quick snap shot for those that don't bother to troll through my photobucket account. That picture makes it look alot better than it is, had a terrible DIY paint job done over 10 years ago, poor thing gas been patched up with filler, old newspapers etc, all cut out now. Has also had all new custom axle spring mounts and chassis mounts made too.
  6. Yaristurbo can I ask why you have such an interest in this car ? Did you used to own it or just like them ? Oddly I've already had a few previous owners asking if they could buy it back too lol
  7. Bought this a few weeks ago, will write a storey a bit later but for now feel free to take a look at my photobucket folder http://s66.photobucket.com/user/avalaugh/library/Toyota%20Starlet
  8. There's something special about opening the bonnet and seeing a twin can with pulleys exposed
  9. Thanks guys, found a complete engine and box from a AE86 for £400. But it's miles away. Thinking maybe completely finish the build with the 4k. Then next year start on an engine upgrade. Yaristurbo I'm afraid I'm not selling it, had loads of offers though already.
  10. Thought it was too good to be true. Are there any bolt in twin cam set ups ? I'm really struggling to find much info on the web.
  11. Making good progress on my build and almost at stage to think about an engine. Currently has the 2k with 4 speed box. I have a 4k and 5 speed ready to go in but really want to fit the 4A-GE, found a company in the states that sell the engine mounting brackets. Will the 4A-GE bolt straight onto the 5 speed box from the 4K ??
  12. Interesting car for sure. You after a cash sale or PX ?
  13. I've ignored her lol, after 2 days of it being on eBay and the phone going ape on me. It's obviously to rare to let go. Ordered a load of parts today. It's booked in to have the welding done this weekend. Will be road worthy next week. Will start a build thread as having a full on resto done in the next few months. Got big plans I need a stock front and rear bumper, and some indicator lenses etc, it's just hard to find this stuff. Mine are ok just gone cloudy.
  14. Guys I'm having a dilemma, should it stay or should it go now ? The car is epic but does need work, I'm getting married in December and the future Mrs is strongly suggesting I don't start another project.
  15. Got the car now, it's in very good condition with just minor welding required underneith. How can I post pictures using my iphone guys ?
  16. Can you guys give me a ball park figure, I need to know roughly if I'm paying a fair price. It starts and drives, let's say it had a MOT on it. Fairly tidy bit rough round the edges ? I just can't find any for sale except 2 complete shitters on eBay.
  17. Will take some on Tuesday once I've got it home and washed off all the powder I've had a good look about the forum but can't find a dedicated section to the old starlets ?
  18. Hey folks, picking up my first ever Starlet on Tuesday 1st July. I know nothing about them.... Please please give me some advise. It's a 1984 2 door 1.0ltr. It's had a TRD body kit welded on, it's steel not fibreglass. Poor thing has been painted Matt black too, been stashed in the back of a hidden specialist body shop for years. Got talking with the owner and convinced him to let it go. It's complete and running, looks tidy enough from what I can see under years of body shop dust lol It's not seen daylight for years but been dry stored. Main question is what's it worth ? We've got a ge
