  1. guarantee you its the vacuum fellas on the side of the carb. Has happened all my carbs at some stage.


    You can screw them back to idle lower but they'l still hold revs changing gears. I ended up bypassing it. Comes off with 2 screws. The one on the right hand side has been the one at fault in any ive had. You'll need to reset the idle screw doe.

  2. Doing the timing for the first time on a 1E engine.


    Have the camshaft gear set spot on with "1E" mark at 12 o'clock. I spin crank to get it to TDC and am coming against a valve.



    Should I set crank at TDC first then spin cam to timing mark?

  3. How ye going getting a lot of hardship putting together a 1e bottem end and need some advice.



    Crank is free until rod end caps are tightened to just 18NM and the bottem end locks up and cant be turned over at all.



    Bearings are spot on, everything was well oiled when assembled.



    Could it just be the lack of oil around the crank/cylinders and fix itself once fully assembled and filled with oil?


    Any help at all??
