  1. Hello,

Sorry for the slow replies i've been really busy as of late.

I only checked this thread as i was pointed to it :p

Anyway, whoever has a stock manifold PM me i'l arrange to get it collected.

The first manifold will then be made, i'll then show pic's etc. I use simulation software when designing n/a manifolds, and know what works and what doesn't.

I'll be honest and say i won't have time to rolling road test the manifold, as I don't have a n/a starlet. I'm confident it will give the biggest gains over the widest possible rev range over the current competition i've seen.

If some people intend to use them on highly modified cars then i could tune them slightly different to 1 intended for a fairly stock application.

Obviously for best gains supporting modifications will be required.

  2. I'm very confident it would be the best manifold out there for the 4e's.

As above, it'd have a fairly large powerband and in this range you should see noticable gains over stock.

Obviously it would depend on the rest of your car's spec. Obviously you'd ideally need a remap to gain the most from it, as you would any modification.

  3. ^^ o.k thanks. whats the name of his site?

    www.race-tech.co.uk

Not much on there at the moment as i've been really busy sorting various things.

I could put a date in the for early next month to finalise the design. It would be much easier if somebody has a stock manifold to make a jig from, (will save me a trip to the breakers yard) so i could give a further discount if somebody provides this.

I would need a small deposit from everybody wanting a manifold before providing a final price

As for design's, i'd make the manifold to bolt upto the stock cat, i'd then make a seperate decat pipe. Or offer a straight through alternative with decat built in.

I could tailor each manifold to suit peoples needs, as long as there isn't a HUGE difference in each, the price wouldn't change a lot. There's no point me making custom manifolds if there all going to be the same :)

Price baised on 5, similar 4-2-1 manifolds, roughly 38mm primarys to 50mm secondary would be £250

  4. haha it does! Some people take piss cuz its a micra but i dont care most of them are just jeolous because they've only got a 1.2 corsa or something. Sounds like its supercharged no word of a lie, ask CRAIG-SR!

Would go well with a turbo on it, you need a trip to my garage

  5. On some car's (probably not starlets) if you remove the PAS you can cause problems to the UJ and steering column, because they weren't designed to take the higher loads.

It's rumoured some manufacturers used to test there engines on an engine dyno with nothing else connected. In honesty i think the manufacturers will be able to accurately predict the output of 1 of there engines without even building it.

I'm not sure you'll notice such a massive improvement probably more a mental thing, but in the lower gears it could make a slight difference.

  6. yeah mate passion ford is mad, by the time you have posted something and hit new post's, there are about 20 newer post  ,

send me a couple of them tags up mate, will put one on abbott's too

Ye, that'd be cool if you could, it'l be a week or so off yet, as i'm just finalising the design then they need to laser cut them.

  7. cheers rick, na no longer need them now, had a few people on passion ford asking bout the mani, so expect some pm's over there

Cool, i'm on with making a couple of cossy manifolds at the minute, PF is massive so hoping the word will spread a little :(

I'm just sorting some little tags out for the manifolds so people know what they are.

  8. Manifold looks pretty smart on the car.

Glad it finally turned up and your happy. You drove it yet on the new manifold? Make sure you get it checked over before giving it too much hammer, it's suprising how much difference 1 manifold to another can change things.

  9. any updates on this?

Yes, i've just ordered a new turbo and tial 44mm wastegate.

Another custom spec turbo, physically the size of a GT35 but with a few nice tweaks inside. Not sure how it will work, but i'm hoping for a powerband of 5-8500rpms, a new cam a different style of headwork and a few tweaks inside the engine will also be made for next year.

I'm staying 1.6 sohc though because i've not got the max from this car yet on standard sleeves.

Time's the biggy though, FAR 2 busy at the minute, but if it dies down a touch over Xmas i'l having something to do.

  10. yea bro, its in the news blog but had no info to go with the car, where did you get that pic from the car looks insanse????????

do you know where i can obtain more info on it

    check the news blog here

    clicky

there are a gagle of ep82s and ep71s in the tens, this is the first ep91 that im aware of

il add that pic of the front of the car into the news blog,

    thanx for finding that!!!!!!!!

No problem, I got the pic of a fabrication site, probably not that much of interest but i'l post all the 1's off there.

The car's aim was 600bhp off gas and 200 of gas, the turbo is a GT42r which is good for 1000bhp, so he's either WAY 2 big on the turbo front or making more power than stated, personally I think he should drop to a big GT40 for better results.

    Here's the other pic's

  11. If you want backyard tuning, I know a guy that tunes according to sight.

He'll drive behind the car and go on the exhaust smoke..

No seriously. He hasn't blown one up yet. :p

Thats an acceptable way to tune a car on nitrous.

But, 2 rich is just as bad as 2 lean IMO. Lean doesn't kill an engine, DET does.

  12. im gussin hes talkin about your injector duty then man with him sayin in percentages, if he was on about your car on idle and injector duty been 6.5% sounds a bit high but will check mine tonight and see what my injector duty is on idle. because you need to worry if your car is on full boost and your injectors are maxin out not gettin anuff fuel in for your set up makin the car run lean.

someone correct me if im wrong...

p.s i dont think your car will be maxin out the injectors tho

    Where did you go to?

CO2 readings are old fashioned now and not widely used nowadays, hes probably a bit old/experienced with old machines. I'm sure he knows what he's doing.

  13. hey dude, was out with my mate in his civic the other day as the weather was nice for a change, dry roads ect, so anywho we was excelerating in 3rd gear and all of a sudden, lost power really bad knockin sounds so we pulled over, to find the boost pipe had popped of not a massvie problem so we fitted it back on, started the car back up and realised it wasnt that what was making the noise, he snapped his drive shaft lol so to let ya know ya drive shafts cant handle anymore than 300bhp lol hes just orderd some 500whp ones from the states and then nearly everything on his car is uprated lol

so keep a eye on them drive shafts man lol

Thanks for the heads up but i've been well over 300bhp for 10k miles now and only broke 1 shaft.

Those shafts look to be in poor condition, but the highlight of the problem is probably something else in the pic... The coilovers.

I run 18psi in 225wide R888's on the road and it wheelspins all the way through 3rd gear on a hot dry day.

  14. Hey guys found a Power FC for pretty cheap just need some info on them

Is there anywhere near SouthWales/Midlands that can tune these?

What other bits would I need for this? It comes with the EP91 harness. Would I need the FC commander or is it just an extra?

How much are other standalones like the Blitz and HKS ones?

    Thanks

You can get something like a DTA, Emerald etc for around that kind of cash brand new. However they will require a custom loom like the PFC will unless its starlet specific.

  15. Is anyone running DTA management on there Starlet?

or any other info or experiances of these units?

    Thanks in Advance

    Ben

I've installed a DTA on a starlet not long back. There good ECU's i'm a dealer for them.

  16. its empty now ricky boyo

    £1600 for a t3/t4 conversion on a b16?what power would i see at say 8 psi on a b18 in a uk spec vti

If it's a serious enquiry i'l PM you a breakdown.

    But just for interest.

You'd probably be looking around 250 with 8psi.

You could run a reliable 10-11psi with as much as 280 for the same kind of cash, on a basic drive in drive out build.

  17. mate can you PM me how much your build came to in total beforeyou rebuilt it?

    many thanks.cal

Your inbox is full, but it's hard to put a figure on it, i make most of the parts and get things at trade price's.

Spending nothing on labour and mapping etc.

    Customers car's start around £1600.
