How much would you like for it! If you can get the most of it out intact, Mainly over the driver / front that would be perfect! PM me a price delivered and will have a think. At the moment i'm between jsut getting a cage and getting this as a quick fix!
-
Does anyone who has stripped their Starlet still have the original headlining with the metal bars? I removed mine but the regs now state it has to stay! Doh!

cusco 6 point roll cage price drop
4EFEJay replied to Matt ep91 glanza's topic in Starlet Parts For Sale
This still for sale? Lowest price you'll take? -
Anyone have one available for sale? 6 Point EP91 Cage, I made the mistake of removing the had lining not thinking it would be classed as 'Trim'. Which now means I have to run a full cage to be able to enter the Toyota Sprint Series! Doh!
-
I think so! Have asked Fensport for a price on a 6 point, not sure it'll arrive in time though!
-
Yeah, I always planned to get one. But just not in time for the first event. Guess that's hurried that along!
-
Yeah! It seems it for the starlet, because i'd consider it more dangerous! The stock head lining in the starlet has sharp metal poles across it. But in something like the yaris or corolla its considered a safety thing as its soft padded card! ANd instead of having separate rules for every car. Blanket rule of no cage = stock head lining. I think my only obvious choice is to fit a 6 point roll cage. But at £600+ eeeks! But then its safety in mind too.
-
Yeah that's the difficult thing, has to be stock! So can't even bodge it with plastic sheet or new fabric! And I don't know of anyway / anyone who's gonna be able to get stock headlining out without damaging it!
-
Thanks for the replies. I'm going to try the stock air box again with a decent panel filter. However I kinda have a bigger problem! Found out I made a bit of a big boo boo today! I removed the head lining as it gave me about 1 inch extra head room with a helmet! However this means I have to now run a 6 point cage to compete! I didn't think it would be considered and 'Interior Trim around the driver' but its because they have a blanket rule on all cars and as some cars offer a lot more protection than others. The fact the starlet head lining is literally just thin cotton, makes no difference. And I kinda had to destroy the head lining to get it out! So it can't go back. So if anyone has the head lining intact who would like sell it to me depseratly, it'd be very appreciative! Or help me fund a cusco 6 point cage my paypal is jay@mmkdigital.com Ahh well! Now a made rush to figure out how I either get a cage, or original head lining!
-
I am after the head lining from an EP91 SR. I took mine out as it was all ripped and damaged, but I need it for the championship class that I am in If anyone has one or lose to one that would be handy! Even if its a bit tatty.
-
Yeah! I don't even have that on my 320hp GT86! Do you think that size pipe might be half the problem with the low range torque? I have no put another silencer in and reduced the size of the exit. So should help build a bit more pressure!
-
Will do this next, just seemed like bit of a PITA job working round the back of the engine. And its been too cold and wet to want to tackle that! Yeah, i'm decat 2.75" straight through with resonator and silencer. Also got a cone filter. I wonder if the lack of back pressure and additional breathing has just moved the torque curve higher up the rev range. Yeah we can run any ecu and mapping is free in the Pro Class as long as it doesn't involve Boost! I might try putting the stock air intake back on and see if that makes any difference.
-
I've just had a look and opening up the exhaust can move the torque and power band. So I imagine we've moved the power band up past 4k as it does seem a lot better further on.
-
I havn't got the corolla manifold on yet. Engine wise pretty stock. Cone Air Filter and Exhaust is only main change. I'm not sure if it is sluggish or the noise just makes it feel like it should be going faster!

Had the day driving round in it yesterday! Can report it worked faultlessly! Once i'd got it started due to a totally dead battery. Done around 150 miles and gave it all sorts of driving. Only thing to come out of the day really was that it's too damn loud! It's fully stripped so will obviously always be loud! But the exhaust was insane. So this morning i've fitted an additional rear resonator and a exhaust bung with some stainless steel wire wool trick. And hey ho its much better! Only other things I found was it seems quite sluggish between 2 - 4k rpm. Could this be due to not running the O2 sensor? Or just the fact its a 1.3 NA and i'm not used to it
-
I do some freelance work for Fensport so that makes it easier to get some stuff done Also they've always been the only people I trusted with my GT86 so kinda just felt like i'd continue that tradition with the starlet. Let me know if you're about. It's insured for the Saturday and Sunday morning.
-
Just took out some insurance so will be driving it around this weekend. Thought i'd better drive it about for some miles before attempting to drive the 2 and half hours up to Fensport! So if there any bits that are going to fall off it, can fall off close to home! Should be a laugh! Anyone around the norwich area on Saturday want a meet up. Give us a shout!

4EFEJay's Supercharged GT86 Build. (Pic Heavy)

I have an older one but no recent ones with the supercharger fitted and new manifold. But does make me realise I need to get one! But it sounds mean! Yeah Fensport are fantastic! They've done all the mapping, work and supplied most the parts! Can't fault them and always happy to help. They also run the Toyota Sprint Series which is a superb race series! Starlet will be very different! Stripped and race focused! Hopefull! Cobra are very good, never had a problem with my system and it sounds fantastic! -

Cost and fabrication work to fit one gets on for the cost of just forging the FA20. And we benefit from the newer injection system. Problem with any engine swap is the ecu to control it. Motec is £1k on its own before you get any mapping or sensor work. And then you lose things like AC, climate control etc. Forging the FA20 isn't mega money. And should be able to take 500 - 600hp easilly. -
Yeah, we did ok on the 'base spec' model as we got all the extras like climate control, AC, Keyless, HIDs etc. Which were all optional extras in Japan. But now we do have a 'Primo' model which is slightly cheaper with no extras. No plaque or anything. You do on the limited edition Yellow Ones and the New 'Blanco' Edition. You get a #/86 plaque. But they charge you nearly 8K for the privelage over a stock one! Yeah we'll try keep this thread starlet and the other 86 stuff! I have to be careful to treat both equally! lol I managed to get a steal on the tyres. 4 part worn on 3 track days. 6mm left on each tyre for £110 for the set delivered. I'd been looking at them and in 195/50/15 they cost around £260 new from ebay. and range up to £300 from online tyre shops. For £110 I though they're worth a punt! Considering I won't be putting much wear onto them either. 6mm should last a season atleast!

Due to popular demand. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/99453-4efejays-supercharged-gt86-build-pic-heavy/ I've done a basic summary of everything in there. Pretty much picture based of the story from Pick up to now. Hope it's not too much of a boring read for everyone!

4EFEJay's Supercharged GT86 Build. (Pic Heavy)
4EFEJay posted a topic in Other Motors Progress Blogs
Due to popular demand on my Progress blog for my Starlet here is my build thread and info on my GT86. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/98169-4efejays-ep91-sprint-project/ It started off life as a standard GT86 in red with the optional Red Assent Interior in December 2012. Finally I could pick it up after a 3 month long wait for it to be imported from Japan. I ordered it before there was any major red cars in the UK. I always bought it to be a daily car. And was never really into modifying cars. This was my first main car other than a clio or a daily diesel which was going to be fun! I'll keep the story mostly to picture. It's been a long and bumpy ride, downfalls, lessons learnt, times we wanted to give up.. So I picked thee car up on 18th Decmeber 2012. With 8 miles on the clock. As you can tell, super excited and couldn't wait to drive it for its first 1000 mile break in! 2 weeks in. Snow! Not going anywhere! Finally got some dry days and got it out for its first main run and B-Road hoon. Shortly after it went on track, totally stock and no modifications what so ever. Of course putting it on track highlighted some of the areas which could be improved! First up was suspension. Ordered a set of MeisterR Zeta coilovers. THE MODDING BEGINS! (Ohh Dear!) Coilovers on, new wheels fitted (Rota GRAs as a temporary measure to sort the offset out on a lowered car. But kidna fell in love with the red and gold look!) Tested it over at Snetterton again. Shortly after this I got a full Cobra Non-Resonated Exhaust fitted which really opened up the sound and sounded fantastic! Quite loud but these cars are silent from the factory! With some sound generator thing to help get the induction noise. The BRZ Side fenders went on as I didn't like the GT86 ones. And an HT Auto Lip kit was also fitted. Just because I wanted to scrape every pissing speed bump in the UK! Next up was Brakes. So this car is basically a Subaru underneith. And the brakes from a Subaru STI Imprezza fit on. So got hold of a set, checked all the bias calulations and made sure it wasn't going to ruin the car. Turned out to be near perfect so went a head and fitted a set: Next up I wanted the car to look more stealth and take on a more serious look, so to try out the look got some cheaper FX004 18" Gloss Black wheels. Another Snetterton track session to try out the new Brakes and Rubber! Feeling fantastic! 2014 Sprint series was under swing and the company who do all my work, mapping and tweaks were in the championship lead. (Fensport Performance) They own a massive turbo GT86 running 500+hp and widebody etc etc. At the woodbridge event, I wasn't participating, just gone to watch. And the fensport car decided to snap a driveshaft before being able to set a copetative lap! So without due we jacked my car up and borrowed the driveshaft off my car so he could complete the event! He went on to win the event and the championship! The TRD Stages When I bought my car, no TRD's were in the country. And nor were they planning to bring any in. But about 1 year into owner ship they imported 250 white and 250 black TRDs. And I loved the kit! But loved the Red too much to change! Now I also noticed in Japan that red TRDs were flaoting about! But the hassle, cost and problems with trying to Import one made it near impossible! And I didn't want a white or black one! So I went on to try and convince Toyota GB to help me import the kit! Japan stock red replacement parts as they had to by law. So I knew it would be possible to order all the parts under warranty if needed. Toyota GB didn't want to know! Insisted there are no red TRDs in the country so they can't order parts as Toyota Europe would kick off about keeping it limited to White and Black. Anyway long story short, lots of emails, phone calls and poking around. My Car had to go into RRG Macclesfield for some warranty work. They also kept pushing Toyota, eventually we were allowed to import a premiered TRD Kit! And Toyota UK let it slip through on the 'understanding' it would be painted white or black.... But gave us a nod to paint it Red! Was more for paper work on the system than anything else! Anyway after a month of long waiting for parts, work and tick boxes. My TRD Baby was born! Now to go with the agressive look I decided I needed a rear wing of some sort! But didn't want a huge drift wing. And didn't want a typical stick on duck tail. It's made more difficult by the fact the oem spoiler leaves massive holds in the boot lid where it clips in. So needs a fair bit of work! The GTR Wing I've always loved the R35 GTR and wondered if that sort of wing was available! No where could I find a nice 4 - 5 inch high low-key spoiler like the R35. So went a head and started working out how to make an OEM R35 Wing fit!? Well why not. First up a mould of the boot lid. Then worked on moulding this to the R35 Spoiler mounts. Until eventually we had a nice smooth mould that sat on the boot lid perfectly and incorporated the OEM spoiler. Got the original Holes welded up, boot lid resprayed and away we went. It also incorporates the original brake light from the R35 too. Still deciding weather to keep it gloss black or colour code it red?! Time for Boost! Cosmetically I was pretty much done. (If there is ever such a thing with cars) Decided I needed a bit of extra power to go with the stealthy aggressive looks! Turbo, Supercharger, NA Cams, Engine Swap? I spent a long time looking in, testing and trying out different builds in the 86 and decided the HKS Centrifugal Supercharger was for me. It keeps the linear power delivery of an NA, it's progressive, had lots of head room. Me an MD of HKS Europe fitted the entire kit with Oil Cooler over a long weekend. All done and mapped at Fensport on the lowered power setting! Producing around 280hp flywheel. And felt fantastic! Oil pressure and Oil temp gauges fitted. And the latest photo, here we are at JAE2015 on the Fensport stand next to the big Turbo brother. At this point in time we have turned the power up a little bit and to 326bhp. We also found the limit of the stock rods! So am now awaiting a Forged block with Carillo H-Beam rods, CP Pistons, ARP bolts and all the extras to run the Supercharger at it's full capacity of around 450bhp. The main reason for me getting the Starlet was so that I can have some good fun on track, learn to drive without risking damage to my GT86. It's now worth too much (time and money) for me to go tracking! It will see some track time. But not competitive and won't be pushing to improve driver skill! I'll try and keep this updated as I go. But things won't progress much on the GT86 for a while as pretty dedicated to the Starlet right now, and it's going to be a while until the forged engine is ready to go in. Sorry for the mahossive long ass thread. 3 years worth of work and details into one thread.
