  1. Thanks, I actually made sure I got a starlet without sun roof and no AC. Will look into the throttle body mod. The other mod I'd like to try is power steering removal. But I've read its not as easy as just removing the belt off the pump. Have to change the actual rack? Yeah all good. Works well and really nice to be able to pop it off.
  2. Part of the new mot guide lines are that the testers have to see the air bag light turn on with initial ignition then watch it go out. If the light never comes on, or doesn't go off. Then it's a fail. But this is subject to testers knowing the latest rules. Ohh and sticking to them.
  3. Just updated my progress thread with the wheel fitting: http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/98169-4efejays-ep91-sprint-project/page-2 The airbag canceller I bought: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/bosses-fitting-kits/simoni-racing-airbag-warning-canceller-kit and you need an OT-48 Boss Got mine from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DUXYTF6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 All fitted and works great! I didn't use the horn wire as i've got a removable hub for the steering wheel so will be wireing the horn up to a button on the da
  4. Today was a busy day. Fitted the steering wheel which is on a removable boss. Rev Counter arrived. Exhaust bung fitted which helps a lot! Stripped the carpet out.Kept it in the driver side footwell as thought it might cause problems for grip on shoes and stuff. Decided the bride low rail was actually too low for me. So I modded the stock rail to fit a bit better and is now perfect height, distance and still slides. So this will go up for sale soon in the sale section along with new side mounts. Bought a momo blue shift knob and a horn button and a few other bits. Starting to
  5. All fitted Wasn't too bad! Quick release fitted too. Will get some pics up on my progress thread soon as I get on my laptop. Airbag resistor was only £4.50 my bad!
  6. I have bought the airbag delete resister kit for £9 from daemon tweaks. All arrived so will be fitting today Hopefully no major problems!
  7. Sounds like the resistor is the best bet! Will get over to daemon tweaks. Thanks. I think for MOT the test includes seeing the airbag light come on on ignition. So if the bulb isn't there I guess it can't pass this bit?
  8. Couple of updates as its been a little while.. Bought a Rev Counter Tachometer. Low Seat Rail arrived today. Just bought a OMP Steering Wheel and Removable Boss kit. Fitting an exhaust bung this weekend to kill some DBs from the exhaust and a bit of the high pitch rasp. Next stop is deciding on suspension. I want to go for fully adjustable coilovers but don't want to be spending £700+.
  9. Just bought a OMP Steering wheel and removable boss kit. Is there anything I need to worry about regarding the airbag? Can I just remove the old steering wheel, ditch the airbag and be done with it? Or will I be plagued with awful airbag lights and the such? How do people fit aftermarket steering wheels. Sorry if this has been covered just couldn't find anything to obvious about the air bag lights? Thanks Jay
  10. Harness arrived last night! Astonished with the quality. Really is a nice bit of kit. I went for one with the quick release Clip and toggles on the shoulders. Test fitted and all is good! Need to adjust the sizes and things but going to wait until the seat is in on its proper rail before doing this. Couple of photos the best I could as it was dark.
  11. Yeah was looking to cost nearly £200! So grabbed this as soon as I could. Kinda figured i'd be able to sell it on if it didn't fit my seat. By I expect to be able to get it to fit somehow. Harness should arrive this week.
  12. Awesome, I've committed to a low Bride Rail from a guy on fb for £50. Looks like its pretty generic so should be able to bolt my OMP seat to it.
  13. No, I think read that they only did a limited run? And A few others have asked and they just said they have sold out. I've got mine off a Buy and Sell group on facebook.
  14. So bit of an update. As we've decided to go Pro I had to spend some stripping! Got as much weight out as possible. Got the bucket seat mounted at the weekend, it actually bolted into the stock rails! Although sits a bit high, so am in the process of buying a low mount rail. Cleaned all the crap out the back, got rid of all the bolts and clips! (There are hundreds!) And put in the loops ready for the harness! Here's a load of photos.
  15. Cool! Fensport do all my work and I work with Fensport on a couple of bits. They built my GT86. Currently working on the Starlet. Are you doing the Sprint Series this year?
  16. Will get some photos up asap. I work away during the week so unfortuantlly updates and tweaks to the starlet are limited to the weekend. My seat should arrive today. Omp TRS-E. Cheap budget but will do the job for sprints! Coupled it with a 4 point RSA harness with quick release. Should be good fun. Just need to know how to mount it? It comes with universal mounts but I don't think these will bolt onto the stock rails? Where can I get a decent rail to fit the OMP seat? Looked but can't seem to find anything specific. Or will the universal rails work with what i've got? Che
  17. Ok Thanks So if I run it without the O2 Sensor will that be ok for now? Should I look into getting it fitted back in?
  18. Yeah, it's gonna be a ear full driving it on the road! I'm also going to order an exhaust bung baffle to shove up the end. Which will hopefully reduce it a bit more. Long term I'll probably get a Cat put it in to be legal and kill bulk of the noise. Today i'm off to cut the whole in the bumper for the new tailpipe.
  19. Focused on the exhaust this weekend. As decided I needed to get something sorted. I've fitted a GT86 Resonator to the centre section of the exhaust and it's dramatically decreased volume. Idle is now about 80db and idle around 4k is 95db. So should be legal for track now! Started to go stripped. Back seats removed and rear trim. Now awaiting the seat and harness. Hopefully that'll arrive this week before i'm back at work.
  20. Mines the 1.3 4efe NA. The new exhaust is fully decat straight through with one single resonator. I'm not sure if it was an O2, Lambda or Temp Sensor? Either way it does smell a bit rich. But not a big problem. I'll be driving it flat out 90% of the time! Unless i'm going to lose massive power or cause damage i'm not that worried.
  21. Fitted a new exhaust to my Starlet EP91 at the weekend. New exhaust didn't come with anywhere to fit the old lambda sensor. So for now i've just left it unplugged. Will this cause any problems? It seems to idle and rev fine. It's purley a track car and will be driven on the road to and from track. Will it cause any damage? And will I see a loss of significant power?
  22. Update after christmas: Got a few nice bits for christmas. New Open Face helmet, New Sparco Race Suit Fire Extinguisher With Car Mount Low Profile Hydraulic Jack I've also bought a OMP TRS-E Race Seat with RSA 4 Point Harness. The exhaust has taken a back burner at the moment whilst I decide how to reduce the volume. I have a Full 2.5" GT86 exhaust system so going to cut that about and hopefully fit the resonator from that onto the starlet system. Rear Tow Hook and Front Tow Strap also turned up. We've also decided to go Pro Class. Which means we can fully strip!
  23. Yeah, might do. Ideally i'd like to silence it a bit first. It really is obscene! And will never ever need it that loud! It hurts! Gonna get a silencer to go in it if I can. But also a Cat to keep it legal for MOT time. Should help kill the sound. Really I want just a nice rumble and a bit of a sound. Not really worried about flow and 1 - 2 hp loss over adding a silencer.
  24. Holy Wars! Well the drivers seat was in perfect condition, its now got a big brown stain on it! Fired the starlet up for the first time with its new 2.75" straight through exhaust. It's insane! Literally sounded like a bomb going off! I think my neighbours probably ducted for cover! So gotta get a silencer and Cat fitted!
  25. Not huge, I think it's going to be ear splitting loud. I think what i'll probably end up doing is swaping out the mid-pipe for a silencer or a cat to kill the noise. I could also for now run a bung in the exhaust. Its 2.75" pipe which is massive! Bigger than what I have fitted to my 350hp car. So bunging the backbox a bit won't be a big problem.
