  1. Yeah that's next when we both have a day off is go back through it. Would it be the temp sensor if the car starts but then cuts out? thanks man
  2. Tried that one mate. checked the earth and used a jump lead to create an earth as well and still nothing. thanks though
  3. Hi all, I have a very strange issue I need some help with, Me and a mate fitted a new gearbox to my Glanza V a few days ago and all went very smoothly until I tried to start the car afterwards. The car fires up fine but then coughs and splutters and cuts out. There's also a load of white smoke coming out the exhaust and a strong spell of petrol. now if I start the car and rev hard it'll stay alive until I stop revving but if I don't rev straight away the accelerator goes straight to the floor. Now we've ruled out a few things like we know there's nothing blocking the pipe work to the turb
  4. Hi all I've been off the grid for a week while my internet got sorted so I missed all these replies! sorry about that. I actually went and picked up a box yesterday so I am now all sorted! hopefully will be able to get my car back on the road in a week or so . thanks again all
  5. Still on the look out for one so BUMP!
  6. I've had quotes from garages near me and none were below 500 quid for a rebuild. And being as I don't know when I'llBe changing the box for a LSD I'd rather just get a working turbo one in there so I don't have to worry about it. I did think about it but if it takes me a year to get an LSD one in at least I know I've got a proper one in there. I know what your saying though mate I was tempted. Cheers
  7. Hi all My gearbox is on it's way out and I just want to get a non-LSD manual box for my glanza V. Will likely upgrade to an LSD next year but just need to get a cheap non LSD box like the one I already have in there as I have a lot on miles to cover over Xmas and the new year and I don't think mine will last that long! Cheers guys
  8. haha yeah I made sure of that. I mean what they actually send me might be a different issue al together but I checked and they defiantly said it was a glanza box. cheers mate
  9. oh dear I wish I'd seen this before I've just bought on from a breakers for 200!!!!!! ait I a tit. Well I suppose I'll see what it's like when it comes but I've learnt my lesson already thanks for the help though mate just wish I'd read it first
  10. So a bit of an update I changed the gearbox oil and the stuff I took out had chunks of metal in it and was like a shimmery metallic colour. It also had about a litre less oil than there should of been so after looking around and seeing what I can do my best option is to get a new gearbox and have a mate of mine have a look at it to make sure all is well before I but it in. I'm going to chuck a wanted ad up on here but I also found a few cars being broken on ebay but I've be quoted 350 quid for a Non-LSD box. Is this a fair price? I've yet to find out the miles on it but I will before I spend
  11. Awesome thanks mate. A mate of mine was gonna get some 75w90 gal 4 oil for me. He said it was millers which is the make he uses in his 200sx. So I suppose the best thing to start with if the oil makes no difference is to get the box out and just have a look inside? I'm a complete noob with this at the moment but I've got a few handy people who will go through it with me. There's no problems with it going into gear or staying in gear which I suppose is a plus at this point . Cheers pal👍
  12. Good point sir! I'll have a look into the refurb option. Cheers for the advice buddy
  13. Okay cool. Thanks again for the help mate 👍🏼
  14. Well that dosent sound too pants shittingly expensive. 😂 Is that something that can be changed or would I still need to get a new box? Thanks for the reply matey
  15. Hey guys, So I've had a scout about this forum for this problem but anytime I got close there wasn't any answers!! So, I've had my Glanza about a month and since I've had it there's been a grinding noise when ever I'm in gear. Push the clutch down and the sound goes, out of gear no grinding and stationary no sound. The grinding is constant when driving but when I lift my foot off the accelerator the sound breaks up a bit but then as soon I'm back on the power the grinding is back. It sounds like I'm dragging a plastic tray behind me. Now I've be given 3 different solutions. 1. is the
  16. I know it's been a while but is that the standard dash in it? and if not where did you get that done? the car is stunning!
  17. no dude I didn't touch anything at the back of the clocks. As it turns out I fixed by doing what you said! I checked the needle and it managed to bend a bit of the plastic around the hole the needle goes though and where I'd pushed it to hard on it was stopping the needle from moving! Thanks for the help though guys!
  18. Massive help mate! I now have a plan so just gotta get the money for a new cluster👍🏼 Thanks again for your help mate. I'm a complete noob when it comes to this so the more I can learn the better!
  19. Nice one I'll have a look! 👍🏼 Really appreciate the help though mate. I was gutted when the needle didn't move 😂 I got an app today so I'm sorted for now. I was thinking about getting a road angel at some point so I might just do that sooner. Thanks again buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
  20. Awesome thanks man👍🏼 Any idea if I can just get a motor for needle? I'm looking at clusters online but I don't know what to do about the miles on my clock. I'm guessing I'd have to change the miles on the new cluster
  21. Hey all. So I was changing the dial on my glanza and after putting the new dial on it seems my speedo needle no longer moves!! As you can imagine this is a slight problem! Now I took the dial back off and it still dosent work so I'm thinking I may have broke the motor for the needle? Anyone know if there's a way to fix this or can I buy just the needle motor? Or is it gonna be a whole new cluster jobby? Cheers guys
  22. You're a man of few words I see lol how do I find your build thread mate? I'm still a newbie
  23. cool, thanks mate. Any recommendations on which one to get?
  24. Hi guys I know there's been a few threads on this but I can't seem to find the answer I'm after. So I want to convert my Glanza. Now all I want in MPH is the dials. The odometer can stay in KM's. A friend said I can just change the dial overlays but after looking on here there's a lot of people mentioning a converter that plugs into the gearbox. So I'm wondering can I just change the dials or would I need the converter even if I don't want to change the odometer? thanks all
