What gasket did you go for bud
Cheers lads! I'll check that video and I got an OEM Toyota one off ID-Workz

Just to give you an update on what I've done. Bought the car as a rolling shell, bought an engine that had knocking on a big end.
Stripped it down, re ground the crank and fitted main and big end bearings to match, had a new piston and rod too. Built everything up, put engine and dash looms in, everything is pretty much there now. But.... I've had the engine idling as normal sounds good, but my oil light keeps coming on and stays there even when warm. The oil is going somewhere, and just today ran it up with the rad cap off and there seems to be a bit of foam starting to form when at normal running temp. There's no bubbling at all. Bleeds up fine gets warm inside reads temp ok.
It's a brand new head gasket, are there certain head gaskets to stay away from?

So my glanza starts up. I'm using an engine bay loom that uses the 3 pin connector on the coolant housing.
I can get wiring diagrams up for engine and ECU, but I can't find where the wires should go into the cluster??
Anybody have any diagrams/pinouts for the instrument cluster?

My fuel pump only primes after the engine cuts out. So ignition on, no prime where it should do and then if I crank it and fail to start when I stop cranking the fuel pump primes?? Have I got some wires the wrong way round?

Great info this! Cheers mate

Do you still have the engine loom and dash loom to match?
-
Hi, I don't suppose you still have the engine loom, and also a matching dash loom?
-
So I've got two dash looms and want to make one good one, but I need some wiring diagrams. It's for a 97 Glanza dash loom does anybody have any?
-
Hi guys does anyone know the difference between the 97 and 98 spec dash looms if any?

Good job getting them replaced, I imagine it was a big job. It seems they are getting beyond the point of scrapping and worth fixing these days.
I'm also looking to replace mine somewhere between December and feb. Right sill the paint just started too bubble up and the left side has some holes. The inside seems to be kinda fine only the outer sill is mostly rusty.
Do you have any tips or thing you would do different if you have to weld them again?
I didn't do the welding myself, there was a couple lads off the Facebook pages who sorted it for me, I'll try find their names and give them a shout on here. Top lads!

The part number for the TPS should be :
89452-16020 Might be worth double checking what yours has on it. The auto's were different but they had 4 pins not 3.
Either the loom or TPS is wrong obviously just a question of which?!
*Edit: that looks like it could be the alternator plug with the wire that bolts to the alternator? Maybe?
Ah yes! You might be right there! I will check it to the alternator connector and see if it fits, very good shout that!

Hi guys, got a question some of you I'm sure will know the answer to. I have bought a Throttle position sensor and the plug on the loom doesn't fit.
I'm guessing this is the correct plug but it's a different shape? My glanza is a 97, but I can't be sure this is the same loom from new, any info on it?

Wow, that's a pretty big resto mate.
I know you didn't get to inspect it, but did the seller atleast tell you about the condition before you bought it?
All the best with the work ahead, it'll be great when its repaired.
Yeah was a big suprise, he hadn't told me about the sills at all no. Which was naughty. Anyway I will post more updates up tonight, as I got both sills replaced

Now started my glanza build its under
🔥 Lockdown Glanza 97 build

The specs on it :
Imported in 2010
manual
140km so only around 80k miles on the car
Body work looked pretty good on the outside. Obviously I didnt see the car at all so I knew it was a bit of a gamble. Anyway I gambled and this is what I discovered when it arrived ...

Hi all! I have done a build on here before on an Na to turbo build. Now sold and this is my next project.
I'll have to backtrack a little as I'm already a way into the build, not had time to make a build thread until now.
So I bought this as a rolling shell, no engine no gearbox no exhaust just the wheels suspension and brakes and bottom arms, all steering gear there but nothing in the terms of engine.
As it was in lockdown still at the beginning of 2021 January I couldn't travel to view or buy a car. I saw this was for sale and thought I would take a punt on it! And get someone to pick it up and bring it to me from north Wales!
So yeah bought it blind 😂 paid £1200 for it. Anybody got any guesses on the condition?

Oil in coolant 😭

Also might be a stupid question but would it be showing low on oil pressure if it's leaking into the coolant on the headgasket? Logically you'd think it would
