  1. Quite useful 😂 was a nightmare getting out the car all the time in my last car Thanks, hopefully get my new heater blower soon, takes forever in the morning to red rid of mist and ice atm without it lol
  2. Small update, decided the blown bulb behind the dash that was supposed to light up the 0-30mph needed changed as its been months I couldnt see my speed at night, went and bought blue led's but kinda ditched them and just bought standard as I quite like the green, what an absolute pain in the ass it was to unplug as I didn't know you had to unplug the speedo cable from the gearbox to be able and pull it out, spent an hour fidgeting with my fingers behind the dash to try and unplug all the clips and then the dreaded speedo cable, nails were sore for the whole day 😂 Boy did I not know the worst w
  3. Decided to tint the windows and sunstrip to make it a bit darker and look better imo as well as a sunstrip to help with the low winter sun Currently trying to replace my doorhandle after I somehow broke it when casually opening the door...🤣 and what a PAIN is it to do the last bit, gave up the other day currently using tweezers to open the door, any tips on getting the damn flip over the metal rod? I really can't seem to do it especially when you put your hand somehwere you cant see. Another question I was thinking about asking, would an exhaust be of any use for this? As in do they soun
  4. Okay thank you seen you have a corolla gearbox but I'm assuming I'd be able to run it on the stock one? I'm not sure 220hp is what I'd be looking for just yet considering I'm 22 and only got 2 years NCD I'm sure they'll ask me for a printout of the power first and would f**k me if it was over 200hp lol. Would I be right in assuming it would cost in and around the £5-600 mark for the parts without the turbo included? I have never done such a thing and half the stuff you told me I wouldn't know what to do with them would you have a rough idea of labour it would take? Like 10 hours or 20 e
  5. Would you be able to link me by any chance? I can't find the topic I dunno why :')
  6. Also just to update I've done an oil change and sparkplug change just now, no pics of it as I wanted to get it done asap with the bad weather lol. Got my local garage to fit me my new rear shocks too for £30 which I think is a very fair price? shocks were also only £21 each from autodoc on sale which I'm loving about the Starlet just now cheap everything is for it lol. Noticed some of the pics i shared in the top of the thread have become url links instead so here's a pic of it as the other ones are gone for some reason
  7. Hi, just seen the reply, thank you I was on the celica club forum aswell and on the facebook page celica club uk before it got hacked and had to be shut down, I'm also in Starlet Society on facebook if you're in that, it's quite helpful on there too it's not a childish group
  8. Hiya, I'll try find your thread and see thanks it'll come in useful, I'm sure I have a "build" thread up in the EP91 section but I'm not sure I've got much posted on it since I've only just done its oil and sparkplug change since I got it in July along with swapping the wheels but that was before I joined here lol I'll make sure to update it whenever something happens to the Starlet though, I'm thinking on getting one of those blue sunstrips on the windscreen to help not get blinded by the winter sun as its agony, got my rear shocks replaced too last month but no pics of that as I got my local
  9. Hi guys, so today I just done my sparks, oil and filter change and was wondering while doing it, what is EVERYTHING needed to do a turbo conversion on a 98 Starlet? The car's only got 76k miles and has no rust underneath as it wasn't driven on salt etc so really wanting to keep the car aslong as I really can, was thinking what would I need to do a turbo conversion? I looked around various posts on here and often read the fuel mods are pointless and to just do a cheap setup as it'll do the job fine? I was wondering what that would require? If anyone has the patience to list me every single item
  10. This looks nice, may I ask, how is the rear spoiler fitted? I've only got the S which doesn't have one and if I can find a black or turquoise one I'd eventually get one
  11. Okay so I've fixed the issue myself using my pea brain knowledge. 🤣 Next step is to get an alignment done
  12. Thanks guys. So here goes the first story of my noobness, I just got my rings today. 56.1-54.1mm, I was gonna do the rears first and do the fronts tomorrow as the sun is really hitting hard rn in Belgium. But my rings seem to not fit fully in the wheel if you understand what I mean. The tip of it fits the top layer of the wheel bore it seems like but when I put it on the car, there's like a gap betweel the drum and the wheel? Tried to get a photo but really not sure if it's any useful for you guys. I did both rears anyways and did a test drive to the shops and back and I haven't noticed anythi
  13. Hi guys, decided to start off a thread on my Starlet just so you guys can get updates and laugh at my stupidity and problems I will encounter in the future. Currently don't have too much planned for it other than I'm waiting on a radio adapter for my cables since the new radio won't plug right in yet and the old one off my celica which I wanted (has touch screen and gps 😮) doesn't fit the plastic trim when I try put the console back on 💔. (keeping the stock cassette player in the boot just for nostalgia and if I sell it I can bring it back to stock still) Then waiting on my hub ri
  14. ahaha yeah most likely but I still have very little knowledge about what needs to be done and how to do such things to install a turbo on an N/A car would probs need to hire someone to do the labour and I've no idea how much that would 😂
  15. Ah yes okay so I'm sure I've seen it when looking, it sits a bit diagonally doesn't it? Starts at bottom right and goes up left when looking from behind?
  16. Cheers, once I've figured out the issue I'll be sure the start a thread on there saying what it was I'm thinking on keeping this for a while anyways, feels good to have cheap insurance and petrol costs for once lol.
  17. Never heard of a panhard rod lol, is that the long skinny bar?
  18. Thnka you, when I'm checking tomorrow along with the other stuff I will try see if it's on tight. The exhaust is on the other side so I don't think it could be that. It could be a wheel bearing too as you said, I seem to have badluck with bearings I've had to replace several on my Celica over time lol
  19. Tyres seem fine and same size, I've ordered some 56.1-54.1mm rings should arrive within a few days to 2 weeks, was a bit hard to find that size but got there in the end. I have badly measured it though, When I used my calliper measurer (if that's the right name) I seem to have read 53.1 for the hub and 55.1 for the wheel, do you automatically have to add an extra mm when you measure? It was probably just me badly measuring it but since I was only 1mm off for the hub, i'm assuming I was 1mm off for the wheel and I'll give it a shot hopefully. Thank you. Yeah I wasn't sure in the order to get 54
  20. Okay thank you I'll give it a shot tomorrow when it's dry. No haha my username is just the football club I support in Belgium RWDM (Racing White Daring Molenbeek) and the matricule number 47 lol just got promoted back to the 2nd tier, I'm more into Mercedes but I'd never own one until I've got plenty of money to throw away lol. Before this I had a 7th gen Celica for a year and a half, a 2010 Kia Magentis that had 240k miles and two 4th gen golfs.
  21. Second post after my alignment question, only got the car last week. I've noticed the rear passenger side tends to knock, I thought it was the stock airbox housing in the boot as the previous owner left it there but after keeping it next to me to check, the noise still remains in the rear, it happens not just when I'm going over a bump, sometimes won't make the noise over a bump, but driving while accelerating can sometimes hear it. The coil seems fine and shock absorber too, car's only got 70k miles so they shouldn't be worn out, I was lead to believe it could be bushing, I've tried to
  22. Hi guys, I recently bought some 15 inch replica BBS wheels for my 1998 Starlet but now that they're installed, the steering wheel is slightly off centered towards the left, if I center it, the car pulls to the right. I don't have hub centric rings as I bought these second hand. Would I need to get an alignment done after I get hub centric rings on? Also, while measuring, would I be correct that the center bore of the hub is 54mm? Do I need to get 54.1-56.1 or 56.1-54.1? Sorry about the questions I've never had to do this until now so still learning
  23. Hi guys, I'm going from Belgium to England to buy a Starlet and bringing it back, eventually driving it back to Scotland once my summer holidays are over next month lol. I own a Celica right now but 3 weeks ago the engine decided to disintegrate itself in true fashion so needing a new daily for work and college once I restart, insurance are loving me right now with all discounts and upgrades lol. (from £185 a month with no upgrades to £44, quite nice for once) My dad used to have a red one until he sold it when we moved to Bosnia so I remember these cars and always liked them because of t
