  1. STARLETS HAVE A TENDENCY TO IDLE A LOWER IN HOTTER CLIMATES, I DONT KNOW WHY ITS ODD, I THINK ITS because NORMALLY IN JAPAN THE AC WOULD BE ON, AND THE ECU WOULD BE UPPING THE IDLE FOR THAT SO WOULDNT NOTICE.

IMO THE IDLE SHOULD BE SET TO ABOUT 1K RPM, I FOUND THIS IS WHERE THE ENGINE ALWAYS IDLED SMOOTHEST, AND STOPS IT FROM POTENTIALLY STALLING,

IN THE SUMMER WITH THE IDLE SET AT 1K, IT WILL DROP TO BETWEEN 7-800 RPM, THIS IS FINE,

AGAIN THIS IS ALL FROM EXPERIENCE, I DONT THINK ITS ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, OR START REPLACING ALL SORTS OF SENSORS OVER.

  2. Cheer Ricky, dont think i ever saw your white one dude?

Lol as you can probably imagine, its quite late, but i think the lag is worth the wait.

Its easy to drive normally as its off boost until about 4.8k...

yeah prob not, it was a few years ago i had it, was before you were a member of tgtt (been a member for 5 years now

thats quite laggy lol, bet its great when it eventually hits it though, i get the arse ache with the td04 not coming on till 3.5k

  3. for 1.4bar on stock internals go for the athena 1.9mm gasket, this should lower your compression to a nice limit.

if going forged go for a 1.2 mm gasket, keeps response a bit better and compression is still quite low, wossner piston and 1.2mm gasket gives a cr of 7.84:1 which is quite low.

  4. speak to sacha (wepr) on toyotagtturbo.com, he can supply you a custom turbo charger kit called godzilla, krissyb has one on his car built to his own requirements, and he is making masses of power with still loads of headroom for more boost still

  5. dude i know how u feel, i felt exactly the same, and in fact i still do.

i had no end of problems with my gt, from the simplest of mods to the hardest.

i wanted to give up long ago, but i had to keep pushing myself, i know i wouldnt have been happy if i didnt finish it.

so i got it finished and my god it was tough, just had no motivation at all, and even when it was finoished you know what, i still wish i hadnt of bothered lol

for the past year i been wanting to get rid of the gt, evryone kept convincing me to keep it, and so i did, i've had fun in it, but now it's definately time to move on,

imo if you want a change now do it before it costs you a fortune in both time and money, if your not happy with the starlet now you wont ever be happy with it.

  6. never realised i not updated this for some time,

engine bay looks a bit different now, and i added a race ported cylinder head custom built by mike lowman race engines.

and some arp headbolts while the head was off,

also changed rocker cover and leads, and the car when to abbey motorsport to get tuned and made 240bhp @ wheels,

i still not happy with the tune from abbey, so soon i will be going to see steve@fc tuner soon hopefully

  7. you got part numbers for 4efte pistons toyota are saying they wont be here till the 16th so no good to me :(

at work yeah, what number pistons do you need?

some toyota dealers are tossers when it comes to imports, i'm lucky i spend a lot of money with my local one and i do themdeals so it's all good for me

  8. toyota can get the pistons within 2 days, or if you plead with them (and maybe offer to pay the carriage) even next day is possible :p

7 days is plenty of time lol

good luck fella, i'm sure it will get there :(

  9. i went on the sunday, got there at 9.30,

parked up had a wander round, heard the pp shout out,

"Pukka Performance builders of the uk's fastest starlet"

    but where was it???

the show was actually shit, highly dissapointed with the turn out, and just see the same old shit as usual, and the starlet turnout was also shit.

not entirely sure why i bothered going really,

but still better than doing nothing i suppose.

the kp starlet was awsome though

  10. woh those wheels have a deeeep dishes there lovely, what are they.

car is coming along nicely bud keep up the good work

there TOM'S RACING night spirit c3-r wheels.

i believe night spirit imported some for his car, but then decided to sell them, i have only ever seen 2 sets

  11. yeah it's going good amigo, done 250 miles, but i have an oil leak, so car is back off the road again until the weekend when i get a chance to look at it,

i think it's just leaking out the sump, or at least i hope it's just that.

tuning is booked in for the 1st august
