  1. ?? google is your friend lol no idea. a fella in NZ ryan, who ran 320bhp on standard internals previously with vf28 and emu. is currently getting a link g3 setup for his starlet. i'll have a word with him and see what the crack is with getting a g3 setup. are you over on tgtt.com or AUSstarletclub.com? pretty sure he is on both of them and is dead on very nice guy. Phil

  3. well then forget piggback, forget boost controllers!! go full standard alone! link g3 or similar and run your boost control through the ecu reading of the tps!! do it do it do it! get starlet rick to write you a list, he specced a fairly awesome setup previosuly defi gauges and standalone ecu.... I NEED lol Phil
  4. ROFL...tehehehehe you arent related to mourinho are you? you have a similar superiority complex! well you far from on your own running mesh its done by many many people. td04 for 60, is true, but whether its in any state to use is another question. 1 in every 3 60/70quid td04's are worth the money, so on average you are looking at 150quid ish to gaurentee a working turbo Phil
  5. sorry i got sidetracked into argueing with cal, its used to be a frequent occurance, i'll try and contain myself. meshing is useful in certain situations. but definitly not the best for performance or filtration. Phil
  6. sounds like i wish i had your money! lol the godzilla kit looks immense....but, it'll be very very laggy on a 4e, need to spec the engine seriously well to get anything out of it! your best route(as it sounds like money is less of and issue here than knowledge(no offence) ) would be to get yourself an engine builder onboard and go 5efte with decent cams and some headwork. Phil EDIT and in an attempt to stay on topic, yes as for the greddy ecu's you should go for the emanage ultimate.
  7. he is a registered trader on Toyotagtturbo.com Phil
  8. hey streetracer! didnt realise you was a moderator over here!! but yeah your right a fast ct9 setup can be fun Phil
  9. you upgrade the headgasket when you forge or when it blows! ct9 can be "pushed" to 200bhp. nomatter what way you you decide to go, start with the simple things, air filter exhaust decat frontmount manifold hks actuator and then maybe some management and more boost then once your decide to go for bigger power you already have 75% of the necessary parts, and whatever you dont need can be sold the fund the bigger and better setup Phil
  10. why not save the money you'd spend on the hybrid and push the ct9 envolope a bit before moving on>? that way you can get some time under your belt, while learning about all the options out there! definitly go frontmount and then take it from there! what all have you got done so far!? Phil
  11. wepr. hard to beat on all fronts. and im not baised i have a autobahn/blitz mix personally. Phil
  12. if your drive the car alot on a standard engine above 1bar td04 you will blow something. some of its in the tune, we know. BUT it can only hold out so long. hey im not saying there is any reason for this fella to forge, just doubting that you'll prove anything new by running 270 or something mad on a standard engine. its been done and heaps more than that but there is a sad timescale that goes with it, and it isnt terrible long. Phil
  13. do i need a new frout mount intercooler?NO just a different pipe to mate the turbo to intercooler piping. do i need a metal head gasket? NO standard h/g will take what standard pistons will take no point in upgrading one element of your engine. just run the td04 @1bar do i need new valve springs and valves? NO nonsense. do i need an emange or similar? yes emanage or something that allows adjustment of fuelling, a fuel pressure regulator will crudely do the job, but not for a tidy tune same with bigger injectors but they really are overkill for td04 @1bar. do i need forged pistons and rods? N
  14. in brief, forged 5efte e/w TD06 HKS Fcon gold pro. acis inlet manifold 288bhp@1.2ish bar would make would heaps more with uprated headbolts Phil
  15. x2 just keep it off boost, and your right chris is very clued up, your stock injectors will close to maxxing out @1.2bar td04. but.. if you already have 370cc's in then go with that and stock fuel pressure see how your tuner feels when he trims using the safc. lol @rick im sure if he gets it tuned he'll be ok! until he ups the boost. Phil
  16. chip a blade, straight into your engine? not good. there are dangers there is no doubt. but sometimes some things are worth the risk. Phil
  17. you sure did mate lol you will flood that engine at 3.5bar fp and 370cc injectors! the safc will have serious issues trimming such big injectors even at stock fuel pressure!! id try 1bar boost stock fuel pressure and the injectors if you must and trim from there with the safc. although to be honest the stock injectors will fuel 1.2bar td04 without great difficultly and then just add whatever you need with the fpr? and trim down using the safc? that way your rich if anything electronic fails. Phil
  18. cal you should really get that thing tuned! its a waste of time having the safc if your not going to use it and those injectors if youve no idea if its lean rich etc! you could get a healthy figure from that setup cant see you getting 260bhp though without a decent tune! madness Phil
  19. who tuned your current setup cal? Phil
  20. yes yes nice, well i actually thought that you "could" use the fcon gold as a piggyback if you wanted? i know what it is and how good it is(ie super), only problem is getting it mapped. i think trevor has some uprated direct fit head bolts coming onto the scene soon so they are a possiblity for wes no doubt. so mapped for 1.4 running 1.2 ? sounds good. think he has a oil issue atm. he could probably turn the boost up to 1.4 bar, as long as he did so slowly and kept an eye on the afr's all the time. Phil
  21. best for performance = no filter, . its the absolute for a turbo car. but we live in the uk where only for a small part of the year thats even viable, autumn leaves and grit in the winter knocks six months on it head all on its own. i feel that meshing the turbo does slightly increase spool up time over a air filter, but makes sure the mesh rigid and secured tightly. but it can loose topend slightly mid rev and low are almost as good as no filter though. air filter = the best for your engine, no chance of sucking any crap up and when relocated it gets a decent air flow. but i find it suffer
  22. agreed it was rude to compare it to a 4e gt28, But surely you would agree that although one setup is vastly and i say carefully "overspecced" a td06 5e must be similar lag to a 4e gt28 and the power would be similar if your ran 1.5bar gt28 4e against td06 5e 1.2bar. yes i run my ct9 @ that lol so what boost was your car actually mapped for 1.8bar? does it have uprated headbolts? and id the fcon gold setup standalone or piggyback? sorry for all the Q's lol Phil
  23. wouldnt make any difference 5e/4e, as long as they're both forged its only the headbolts and turbo that would have a problem with 1.8bar + but your right lags no problem at all, nice to have something good to wait on Phil
  24. yeah but it would be just as safe(or safer) running whatever it was mapped for even if it was higher boost. unless it was mapped to something nuts like 2bar which people "say" starts to really push the headbolts? is it running standard headbolts rick or a arp4age set? well its only 288 i think @ whatever boost he's on, and he cant very well, run a td06 5e and not have more impressive power than a 4e gt28 or similar, the lag has to be in anticipation of something great lol. awesome car, i cant say that enough! lol Phil
