unfortanately the probe fell out after mate....:-( i keep changing the oil to as it starts to smell burned quite quickly, could that mean anything?
-
i know what u mean,i had the egt probe fall out yesterday-you really know when its blowing and yea really ran like a bag-o-shit then but luckily it was still attached to the cable and had flicked up under the undertray-how lucky was that!! ;) ..about the only luck ive had tho anyways ive triple checked 4 leaks since and no sign what now

i see what your saying chaps, i have a toytuning actuator on order (for some time)which they said was in stock but after giving my details i havent heard anything ,i even tried pm'ing toby but i havent heard back still, are they on holiday or should i start 2 worry?- ive had no problems in the past dealing with TT. still got a small amount of whitish smoke at idle sometimes ,ive checked the coolant and pcv valve whats left? hope its not rings or sumpthin major :-(
-
i only have the standard boost gauge to go by but it appears to boost all the way. currently have the solenoid bypassed but i can re-install the hi/lo if needed. the actuator came fitted to the OEM turbo complete so should be fine? its kinda hesitant at the bottom end now and i get a small amount of whitish smoke when idleing for a while-the very reason i changed the turbo!!(albeit it used to be lots of smoke..) my best guess is that the stainless manifold gets much hotter than the standard cast one-heating up the EFI pipe, indeed i made an alloy heat shield which helped a small amount. i was

k chaps, installed decat and stainless manifold along with new gaskets, i now have slightly less power and a quieter ehaust note (brand new std turbo too) i still have the standard exhaust system, anyone know whats happening here????

try taking out the grille the top mounts for the radiator off and moving the rad to the right, should give u a few more inches ;-) the bolts where tight on mine but not that bad, otherwise take the rad out and use a breaker bar. glad u got your actuator from tt ,ordered mine a while ago and explained it was urgent, still havent seen it-got a complete new turbo since then! oh yeah b careful with the E ring that holds the pin in...ping, oh bugger.

yer, everyone says the same. no worries not sure if it'll go to court but see what happens.... (didnt put in an exact speed figure for obvious reasons )

thanks for your view, much appreciated so far as i can tell i was aware of the camera in question but i still had the problem of the car loosing speed as it got nearer the top of the hill with traffic behind and chose to drive safely and not risk bunching the traffic up. i can get an independant report on the car as its as i left it on my return-i thought it best not to fix the problem so they have some evidence if need be, luckily i have a brief spell off work so i can get my other starlet on the road hopefully:my gtt has loads more torque and is more relaxing to drive slowly as a consequence
-
see your point ,i was just making the situation as safe as i could- the clutch isnt falling out just slipping thats all it was a no brainer at the time. in the circumstance anyone considering fellow road users would have done the same, there just happened to be a camera thats all.
-
basically i was in traffic-fast lane with traffic behind and none in front (in my lane) big hill in front, just took a run at it to avoid causing the traffic to back up as i knew from the previous hill the speed would decay on the way up and didnt fancy getting rearended-looks like i might anyways. but yer agree with your comment on the legal system... ive caught theives repeatedly where i work and they always get off, despite having video evidence etc :-(
-
welcome fellow newbee from my experience i would suggest looking in the jap mag classifieds, starlets arent that rare any more espcially glanzas and you could get a decent one for that price. if you want one modded i would suggest get one thats already done,as much fun as it is do DIY it'll be loads cheaper to buy one someone else has already done up, just be weary of bodge jobs. have fun either way :-)
-
cheers ,i'll check tonite mate
-
if u mean the cars, one has slippin clutch the others in bits. if u meant me er....
-
is joey her login or just her name mate?
-
hmm kinda thought that might be the reply,i guess they got bills to pay too.. unfortanately i have two starlets to insure and neither are working at the moment!! boo... still open to any ideas folks as i need at least one car to get my overworked ass to.. er work
-
if there are any professional legal/clever types out there can you please pm me i was caught speeding although it was caused genuinely by a slipping clutch and my wanting to get up a hill using momentum without being rearended or causing an incident on a dual carrageway. any help or input would be great as ive had a clean licence eversince i started driving and i would ideally like to keep it that way! cheers chaps
-
is that complete or an exchange turbo? anyone know where i could get it properly mapped/rr in south hampsire, would be really helpful ;)

i think thats me well an truly told mate cheers

see your point bud, do u know if the arc top mount ic is worth it? authough i declare my mods i dont really want to attract more attention to the car as bling aint really my thing mate. anyone know if an intercooler would be compromised if i paint it??
-
