  4. how about trying to fit a honda engine with the vtec in it, so you can get loadss more powahhhhsssss. or if that fails could try a 5e imported from japan.

  7. sorry for bumping old threads, but if you look in this months banzi mag, there are 2 250bhp n/a tuned honda's. a civic and crx. Basicaly get your car realy like, bore it out, get everything running smoothly. I read that if your crank picks up to much oil it will drag you down 4bhp, and there are some plates you can buy for the evo engine that stops this, maybe try somthing like that in the starlet. I think its all about using your noggin, and see how other engines binerfit from n/a tuning. Look at how people tune the 4age, 4agze, black/silver top 20v's, honda engine, K and D series.

  9. dude, wish i had the money to do this, im getting a starlet sr soon, the insurance will kill me tho lol. Could you do a performance parts list of what you have please? so far i can see the whiteline gear and the rolla manifold. NICE CAR!!
  10. ok first of all i am no starlet guru at all i dont even own one, but here goes 1. 1mm is standard, i think TRD do a 0.6mm,Zep racing do 1.2 and 2.0mm, and cruise do 1.2mm 1.4mm 1.6mm 1.8mm 2.0mm 2.2mm 2.4mm 2.6mm head gaskets found here: http://www.toytuning.com/onlineshop/engineinternals a thinner hg give a higher compression ratio, better for n/a powerd. A thicker hg gives lower comp ratio and better for forced induction (i.e turbo/ super charger) 2. i have no idea, but i dont think you should be able to go to wrong.   16. i dont understand how the 1.5 fits the 1.3. Does the 5e-fhe engine have a longer stroke ?

  18. well at the moment im only 16, hoping for an sr at 17, planning on keeping it for a while and gradually tuning it as i go. I know i cant do major mods to start with so basic mods for me are things like a rolla mani, and 4-1 or 4-2-1 manifold, suspention gear e.t.c. after i get rid of the starlet im after an ae86 or skyline anyway.
  19. huh? so a 5e-fhe head fits direct?? man im not to up to parr with my toyota 4e and 5e engines, maybe just stick 5e cams in a 4e or just get some aftermarket cams
  20. hm... so a 4efte head is a direct fit? what do the 4efte rev to ? and is there a better way to raise rev limit other that soldiering in a crystal?
  21. hm.. i read it but i dont understand it, ill give it another read. i asume i need stronger springs tho. My mate tom just suggested buy a 4efte head, will it fit ?
  22. he says the engine bounces at around 6700-6800, i assume this means the valves hit the piston head?? how could you stop this ? i know the 4age doesnt bounce, maybe i should just stick a 4age in eventualy but thats another thread.

  24. I have been reading about n/a tuning and one of the things i see with the 4age engine tuning is making it rev higher. How could i make the 4E rev higher, i see trd do a 4age that revs to 12k, im not sure how they manage this, i think its so do with a shorter block. Anyone have any ideas of how to make the 4E rev higher ?
