  1. lol.. consider me pursuaded then.. 16's it is.. Cheers for that guys.. What brands would you recommend ? i dont want anything too pricey and something which others have done to death. Something nice, non dished (spokes go to edge of alloy not inner lip) and i want white. The wheels i looked at were inovit STVI. Cheers
  2. Ive found a nice set of 17's for a nice price too. Will i suffer that badly from speed/rubbing etc ? Ill be having height adjustable coilovers so i can try to tailor the height so that it doesnt rub (if poss). Any pro's con's would be nice.. And yes i know most of you people like 14's and 15's but i love big wheels. Cheers in advance. D
  3. Not many of these lil badboys around anymore.. Looks sweet mate ;)
  4. Thats shite mate.. joys of livin up the hill a bit lol.. nothing like that happens round here. Seems the further up the valley u go the more lil t&ats there seem to be.. u not included of course.. Police are shit too, they give em f`ck all even if theres evidence i expect.. Good luck tho bro
  5. lol.. ive been dying for the last few months trying to find this answer haha. All good tho. I waited until my points had cleared before gettin my license back. All nice and clean now lol.. lets hope it stays that way. Yea thats it. Ive driven a few of my mates cars recently etc so i can still drive, drove this girls lupo gti the other day too haha.. they are quick lil cars those. But i was stupid, just couldnt resist. But that is stopping now i have my license. Straight and narrow from now on ;)
  6. cheers for that Gall.. i do want a later model if poss but heard good and bad things lol.. Ive got my answer to my own question tho. Made a thread just incase others needed the same answer i did. Probably no1 else on here dumb enought to have lost their license like me tho haha. @ Sparky. Aint been up the wood on a thursday for years mate.. Most of my mates aint that much into the whole "boyracer" scene anymore haha.. Ive gotta make up for lost time tho. Got my provisional back today and 1st lesson 2moro.. It wont be long !! ;)
  7. yea id agree, its always worth trying. Ive been looking into importing 1 and tbh there isnt huge amounts of money to be made, you could probably save £500 tops. But then u have to wait a month while the car is shipped etc. Thats why im gonna go down the same route as you and get 1 already here. Beware tho as some people charge silly prices for these cars. ive seen similar 1's with only a few more mods than this going for over 4k etc. I think these people are those who like me thought that importing it theirself would make them money but it only works if you put the price up more than
  8. Hey all. If you have read my "evening all" post in the new members section you will have seen the question ive asked about what can i say to insurers about how long ive had my license when i re-do my test. Well ive spoken to the DVLA today after recieving my provisional back from them and thought id ask them to see if they knew. The answer she gave almost made me want to go and grab her and kiss her ! haha. She said "When u pass your test now your new Full license will come back and will have the date you originally passed your test on" So that means it will show sometime in 2001 haha.. so
  9. Abercarn haha.. pretty much just down the road.. U will have to come take me for a spin 1 day mate.. ive not even been in a Glanza yet.. lol.. my mate had an old EP82.And theres a white EP91 going around here altho i dont know who it is. Seems nice. But i prefer the look of the EP91's . Going to pop over churcham garage in gloucester. They got a couple of nice 1's there.
  10. lol thought he mite be. time to change it methinks .. Another welshy i see ? haha.. where bouts ?
  11. what kind of gains do u get from a FMIC ? is it much more than the standard IC ? Also would a more expensive HKS or BLITZ FMIC give better performance figures than the HID ? or you just paying for the name ?
  12. IMO.. Red car = white wheels.. Always a sure fire winner. Speedline corse in white look mint.. Im also unsure on the Lenso's, more of a euro look than a jap look for me. Spose if u slammed it on 17's it would look mint but they just look too small otherwise. Spokes to the edge of the rim always makes the wheel look bigger.. I had 15" wolfrace enigma's on my Golf mk2 and they looked mint without the tyres.. then with tyres on they looked like 13" haha.. sold em within a month. Good luck with your choice tho and hope they look sweet.
  13. Thanks .. ive been toying with the idea of importing 1 myself, been in contact with a few people and have access to the japanese auctions. But im like a kid in a sweet shop haha.. So many nice cars and i dont have the cash at the minute.. I think im gonna just go down the Fianace option.
  14. Yea, i have 2 CID police living next door and even they dont know lol.. Not the kinda thing i like telling people about as it is quite bad to fall asleep but hopefully it'll serve as a warning to others.. it deffo aint to be done.. Car,My corbeau's and my momo wheel saved me from major damage i think haha. Burnt elbow from the seatbelt and some glass in my hair and thats about the worst. All good. Sadly the others werent that lucky but im sure my insurance helped them get over it all with a nice hefty lump of cash
  15. lol.. well i strayed over the white line, hit a car front corner of mine that then rolled and hit a car behind me while i was left with 3 wheels and a clutch pedal . It ripped my suspension off with the alloy still attached, smashed the floor in so both break and accelerator pedal were intwined with the mangled floor then left me scraping down the road on my sump with only the handbrake to stop me. Then the road was closed for 4 hours. Luckily i was in a Mk2 Golf and it took most of the impact. Left a nice crease in the roof too where it bent in half on impact haha.. Gotta laugh about it or
  16. Having an accident while my head nodded was the cause of the 9 points haha.. Ive had a quote of £876 TPFT but thats saying ive had the license 1.5 years :S
  17. lol.. if im honest with u all it was a case of staying up til 2am then getting up for work @ 5am and being a little bit sleepy on the way home *sob*.. but my new job is nice and easy so no more late nights and early mornings and no more tiring myself out.. Cheers for the replies so far
  18. Hi all. Im new to the starlet scene. After losing my license under the new drivers act (got 9 points) about 5 years ago im now back on my way to becoming road legal again. New job and nice pay = a nice Glanza V to get back into the driving scene again. Dunno if its the right place to ask but have a few general questions as im a total noob. Whats the best bang for buck parts/mods i can do to the engine for starters ? Also totally unrelated i had my license for over a year and a half before i got my 9 points, so when insurance companies ask me how long i held my license for could i say over
