ooo that dosnt look 2 good bud, i cant see that the piston would get damaged from that so that shud be ok, but looks like the valve seal has jammed the valve

im doing my own 5e build at the mo, what i done is buy a mot failured paseo and broke it for parts but kept all the engine, flywheel and gearbox for the built.. im at the stage now where im just cleaning everything up and porting it all ready to stick back together... The small list is 5e bottom end, crank and conrods 4e pistons 4e head, i used 5e cams as there a bit better 4e oil pan 4e gearbox, im having the 4e flywheel machined to fit the 5e crank 4e water hosing and thermostat the power steering, alternator, oil pump ect from either swop the sensors over from the 4e block to 5e block

found it on the gt site, cheers dude after a manual on the engine tho if theres one anywhere online?

Hey guys i`ll be starting the prepping for the 1.5 turbo build, but does anyone have the tolerance`s and torque settings anywhere for the engine? I've had trouble before getting a manual for imported cars Also id like to use the 5e cams as I've heard there a bit better but do i need to use the cover aswell? as the vent hose is in the wrong place and is smaller :S cheers

lol already your looking for mods As above is what you should aim for next bud, or go the route i am with the 1.5 turbo build, a be a while yet tho as im still collecting the parts lol

read my post again lol, I found out its 20psi max and 7200rpm that they recommend for the 5efe/4efte build cheers

Hey guys been reading alot on the 1.5 turbo build for the glanza`s and people say you cant run much boost or take it to the edge lol, whats a safe boost for the these builds? it`ll be running th CT9 turbo and was hoping for around 1bar of boost.. any advice would be great cheers

Hey peeps after sorting the cts on the car she`s now running perfect so looking to do a few mods... I've removed the boost restrictions and im wanting to remove the aircon and rip out the gubbings in the cat, cars already fitted with a blitz filter but with the other mods do you guys reckon i`ll start hitting fuel cut?

chances are the pistons stuck bud, remove it and see if you can push the piston up with your thumb, if not wd40 it and slightly tap it with a hammer to free it up, them finger it for a bit lol, should loosen up and be fine after that ;)

Ok starting to get really p`d off with this now, im guessing the sensor is the green one that goes into the thermostat housing? I've swoped it over for one that i know is working, reset the ecu... do the test and the ecu says everythings ok, go for a drive and the same shit happens... car drives fine but engine light comes on and then shows error 22 again.. what else can it be? also swoped the thermostats ove just in case while i was there...

wee update, i swoped over the cts this morning and unpluged the battery and reset the ecu, engine lights continuely flashing now so no more faults ;) so far anyway lol i`ll take her for a wee test drive just to double check lol..

well i`ll swop the sensor over tomorrow and see if the faults still there, i`ll reset the ecu after its fitted just in case lol, but if its not that sensor any idears what else it will be? am i doing harm to the engine by driving it? i mean the light stays on for a bit then goes off, so maybe it`s kinda working?

cheers for that bud, found it last night n was guna try it today, just been out and its the error code 22, CTS.. how handy are those ecu faults lol.. if the sensor was faullty would the temp guge be the wrong ready and im possibly overheating my car?

ok dont think its fuel cut as the car drives fine, just the stupid light poping on, its worse with the restriction put back on, any idears on what to check or can i pull a fault code from the ecu? car drives great, thought maybe it was low coolant but its not lol...only thing I've done is change the clutch :S

Hey guys ok my cars only fitted with a blitz air filter and I've removed the boost restriction on the car, its a 98 model but once the cars warmed up the engine light pops on for about 10secs then goes off again, does this every now and again but car drives fine and its rapid, just wondering if its a fuel cut warning and is it safe to keep driving like this? or do i put the restriction pipes back to standard? cheers

hey guys thanks for the reply but I've managed it now lol.. first time and it took me about 10 hours lol, the right tools really would have made the difference but i removed more than i needed too... hardest bit was my brothers done a clutch change at college and bolted the clutch in place when i was at work n told me it was centered, spent 3 hours trying to get the box on to find out it was about 3 mm off lol... so once realigned i built a mini lifter with a old scissor jack and would, bolted it to the middle of the box and used that to lift it, then about a hour later the box was in

Hi guys right im doing a clutch change lol, I've removed the driveshaft from the gearbox side and everything i cn see but the box wont seperate from the engine, i think I've got 7 long bolts removed, took off all the engine mounts, now when you jack up n down the whole engine moves with the box, so im stuck.. is there a guide anywhere on removing the gearbox? cars a ep91 lol
