  1. assuming the cap and coil havnt been changed then it will be boot type.
  2. looks like a 2e to me mate. look on the block or on the vin plate mate. will tell you the engine. you had the sweet wheels that my ep85 has on it atm cant wait to fit my coilovers, looks cool slammed
  3. how would that create aeration mate? the breather seems fine, and like i said, it was ok before i changed the oil the first time!
  4. a large majority of them are in a bit of a raggedy state. even my really nice GT is far from perfect. 99% of them have has some kind of spraywork and 99% of that isnt perfect. i wouldnt worry too much mate. spend a bit of cash on a cheapish respray and she will look alot fresher, or just slag the car up!
  5. replaced the rear diff oil before i put the car on the road. stuff i took out seemed pretty decent to be fair, but replaced it anyway. ran the car for a few days and had a noise from what appears to be the diff. drained the oil out to fill with the recommended 80/90 oil and noticed the 75-90 that was in there had a load of little bubbles in it as though it was all aerated. rechecked the oil today and the same has happened again, i have done literally 10 miles since the change. the oil is at the right level, what could be the problem?
  6. well, im looking to move house in the very near future. will be once ive done that i i need the room for all the bits. but you know what selling a house is like. could a month, could be a few years before it sells worst comes to the worst ill have to take it out. but would rather do the job once properly than have to piss about twice!
  7. well, its kinda like that but not as noisy or as high pitched. plus it doesnt go as soon as i touch the clutch pedal, the clutch has to be pretty much fully disengaged before the noise will stop. when i do the turbo conversion the box will come out anyway so will it be ok to drive with the main shaft bearings being noisy? no obvious metal fillings came out when i drained the old oil.
  8. sound is about the same whatever really, hot or cold. just seems to be getting worse the more ive driven it but could just be me. its not a whining sound, just a kinda grinding knocking sorta sound. yeah. putting my foot on the clutch under all circumstances gets rid of the sound
  9. My ep85 is starting to get on my tits. its one thing after another. now its on the road i have been driving it around to find any other little problems with it. has a few minor things but the most annoying and possibly most costly is the sound from the gearbox. seems to be getting worse but could just be me. 1. when you sit still out of gear with the clutch pedal up it make a kinda grindy knocky sound, press the clutch down and it stops instantly. 2. sound goes up and down with the engine revs. 3. while your driving you can hear it (its not mega loud) put the clutch in and it stops again
  10. i have an ep85 with no rev counter. was taking apart the speedo and just noticed that the new cluster with rev counter has this strange switch bit on it and its connected up on the circuit board. checked the original kph speedo that the previous owner gave me with the car and that has the same switchy thing on the speedo but not connected. the mph speedo that the previous owner fitted does not even have this switch on it. i just wondered what its use is? i know it is a really minor thing that most probably have never noticed but i like to know everything i can
  11. just checked the original speedo cluster that came with the car from japan and that has the strange switch on it too, but it is not connected!!!! seems like the uk versions of the dials dont have this part on the speedo. any ideas?
  12. ok. was just stripping my instrument clusters apart to swap bits over and noticed that the speedo drives are slightly different. one seems to have some kind of elaborate switching contraption on it??? here is a diagram and some pics of what im talking about. only difference between the two clusters is that this one has a rev counter. if you can help me, your a hero
  13. not sure if the pm's are working mate! dont think your receiving them from me!?

can you email me dac69er@hotmail.com and then ill send you my number.

  14. have had several parts from sam and he is a top bloke. just recently got me 2 front hubs for a cracking price and were delivered very quickly. cheers mate. really appreciate your help with getting my starlet back on the road keep up the good work
  15. its not a massive bang wow mega power increase on its own, but it does seem to act like the ct9 always should have. it makes the car drive like more expensive jap performance cars of the time like the impreza or evo. has a more gradual power as apposed to a bang down the bottom end and then it going off at the top end. im very happy with mine and its obviously been researched pretty well as it works really well with the 4efte.
  16. i decided to go at the last minute. when i got to the uksc stand there wasnt 1 owner to talk too. had a look round enzos car and an advance with toyota optional kit and the same exhaust as ive just bought (japspeed). there was some interesting cars and i had a decent time there. its just after a couple of hours there was nothing more to do and it was a bit expensive for the day in my opinion.
  17. possibly would have been better if i was on a stand and got there a bit earlier. just seemed like there was nothing to do. no actual motorsport action of any sort, no trade stands, hardly any food stands. poor toilet facilities. payed £15 for a wristband that cut the circulation off to my hand and had to walk 15 mins from where my car was parked as they decided to put the day parking miles away from the actual event. wasnt very large either. if it was a bit cheaper it wouldnt have been so bad, but hey ho. ive been now and got the T-shirt!
  18. i went today and frankly i would have been pissed off coming all the way from scotland or ireland for that. was not very impressed. weather was ok. i stayed for about 2 hours and went home. £15 was a rip off and i wont be going again. santapod japshow is a million times better.
  19. that gasket is pretty resilient to be honest. heres the number anyway: 17277-11020
  20. i ordered through sam and got them today. just need to get my new rad started and i should begin fitting the turbo next week. and she should be running by next weekend
  21. dac69er

    cock on!

brilliant mate. sorted me out super quick. no hassles and got exactly what i wanted. will definitely use again, thankyou
  22. what i mean is if you wanted to use the same intercooler setup as me you would need a custom rad made up. otherwise you wouldnt be able to do a short pipe route like i'll be using
  23. you would need the custom rad made too mate. plus i have professional welders at work who will do the pipes for free. ill be happy to post up pictures and stuff with info on how to get it all done
  24. want to make my own fmic kit. want to make it the shortest route i can and not have a core thats too big. i like to do things slightly differently
  25. need to get a custom rad made. will be running at about 1 bar to start with, then when i have a fmic i will go up to 1.2bar
