  1. Wow! I always thought normal driving they'd give 1-2mpg better but drink more when you put your foot down? Good news then , thanks for that advice Would you recommend a custom remap then or a Revo? And is there such thing as an "eco remap"?
  2. Thanks for that Shahzad! £85 Guys if anyone has a top-mount lying around please let me know!
  3. Please? Didn't come up on my BBM, add me 27139FDC Lies haha there's 20 of us
  4. You're kidding! Any idea of where I can get some top mounts? Had a look at Camskill and EP commerce and haven't managed to find them
  5. I'm starting to sway towards getting some new KYB gas shocks now. Looked for the top mounts online and can't find them, but then again the hassle of taking the springs off, swapping top mounts, putting it all back together..if the shocks were to knacker (the car is lowered 45mm) then it would just be time & money wasted :L Haha! Nah this is for the NA that hasn't been driven in ages, weird since it only did a few hundred miles since the last MOT! I might give em a shout, but like I said swaying towards new shocks atm Thanks for the replies guys
  6. Drive a GT and go from there! I know the feeling, I love my NA too much to get rid, but since I drove the GT I knew I didn't want to break that either! lol
  7. When you say a difference in fuel economy, is that for the better or worse?
  8. Car failed MOT on the above fault, does anyone know the cheapest place to get a new top mount and how much it is? Or am I best just replacing both front shocks instead? Thanks Amjad
  9. Looks smart What engine is it?
  10. I bought a new one from Toyota a week ago, wasn't more than £5 iirc
  11. About tyre pressure, mine were set quite high for the first session (of which I did 2 laps lol) the car wasn't gripping at all For the second session I remembered to let some air out and it was a lot better!
  12. T1Rs are awesome for street use, both good in wet and dry even on my GT which obviously has over twice the power of my NA I used them on track at JF2 for a 15 minute session and it was the major limiting factor on the car preventing me from going faster! The wheels did want to spin up a bit and the grip could have been a bit better, the tyres had melted bits over the tread when I pulled in lol That being said, after a motorway journey down the melted bits have gone and I have a good 6mm or so left (used maybe 1-2mm on track?) I can definitely say that T1Rs are a good tyre, but for track you might want a stickier compound Note: track time was done on the GT, T1Rs on an NA may have coped a lot better
  13. That is awesome!! We're looking for a new Leon Cupra/FR TDi to replace our old one, shitters on the market atm
  14. Lower it, flare the arches, spray the spokes black and that is baller!
  15. x2 Welcome along!
  16. That means a lot Iddy, thanks!! Yeah with stickier tyres and a few more handling bits I could be much quicker round a track so happy with the power for now! Didn't realise that was you or get a chance to reply sorry dude! What did you wanna do about it? Thanks man, can't believe it hasn't been a year yet and the car was a Cat C stock write off! Never would I have thought the car would be at this spec so soon *Update* Just thought I'd throw up a few pics, here's one at Japfest My plan was to debadge the rear after getting the tints done, but came across this under the badge So black it went (note the Evil Hello Kitty lol) Love this decal And some more shots where you can see the wheels better (look more pink in real life rather than orange here) Amjad
  17. Cheers Ryan! Good seeing you again on Sunday mate! Mehehehe you and Amir both have the bug now lol Nice one again for helping me with the harness & brakes! Well managed to get everything pretty much done for Japfest, and the car ran beautifully! Was up from 11pm Friday to 9pm Sunday lol! Got the wheels from the NA sprayed pink, finish is really good so I'm happy! (Filler reacted with one spoke on one of the wheels but meh, you can't really tell!) Nice (tiring) drive to Nottingham in the morning where I met up with Ryan, his bro & friend, Jade & Taggy and we set off for Donny! Didn't really get to see much of the show as I was fiddling with the car before, in between and after my track sessions lol Went out for the first track session, I was intending to go flat out, and did so for about 2 laps until I lost all power! I got properly scared as the oil pressure dropped (turns out this was just because oil temps were high, around 105 degrees). Instantly I thought of LukEp, where his oil pressure dropped at JF1 and thought my bottom end had gone! Kept driving as slow as possible until I reached the pits, the car wouldn't boost at all, but the off boost power felt normal, so then I figured the turbo has just given up the ghost. Pulled up back at the stand, and it turns out it was just my makeshift BOV bung had popped off Big thanks to Chris & Paul for lending me a bung for my second session! I was a bit paranoid given the scare in the first session, and wanted to take it easy, but as soon as I got out there I thought fcuk it, and went as fast as the car would allow haha! For such a basic setup the car felt awesome! Power- Nippy enough though I do want TD04 power Handling- For such a basic setup I really was impressed, could for the first time feel the LSD working, immense! Tyres- T1Rs did well for a cheap street tyre, but I could really feel the need for a sticker tyre entering and exiting corners! Brakes- Awesome. I gave them hell and they bit well with no fade whatsoever! I think the pads are a little worn now though lol but as £21 for a new set, can't complain I managed to do a MK1 and '04 Subaru, MX5 (I actually lapped him lol), some track Primeras, passed Idrees although he was having problems, kept up with Taggy and Lee_EP82 for a bit too haha. Also kept up with some track Civics for a while but let them pass as I was a bit paranoid about my oil temps! Although they didn't go above 110 degrees, so I carried on flat out after a bit. Overall chuffed with how the car coped with the session, GUTTED I didn't record it though (accidentally turned it off when it was already recording when I entered the track ). I want an oil cooler and stickier tyres now, but that'll have to be next year now as I'm truly skint haha If anyone has any pics or videos of my car please PM me! Oh one last thing, Ali_legend sorted me out with tints after JF (thanks bro!) got some legal tints at the front and dark smoke for the back. And got a Starlet Attack windscreen decal and evil hello kitty for the back of Josh (thanks again!) so I'll put up some pics when I get a chance! Amjad
  18. Loved seeing this in the flesh yesterday, and good to see you again and meet the others involved in the build! Hopefully it'll be 100% ready for track next time
  19. On my 2nd (also my last ) lap of my first session yesterday, can't believe how quickly you shot past!
  20. Email them before you place an order, they usually let you know about dispatch times etc
  21. Fudge me I've been sorting these wheels out since 11pm last night with a 2hr nap, setting out to stay at ali_legend's in Notts in a few hrs *tired*
