Many thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated! *Update* PASSED THE MOT WOHOOOOO! Literally SO happy right now, feels like all the hard work has paid off Tonight's job: get the godawful cat off and HIDs and LED in Amjad
-
Thanks Vtak

Definitely, that's exactly what I did on the NA before as I know alignment makes a huge difference I have an ALK on the NA, had one for the GT too but I've misplaced it LOL I do say I'm not technically skilled
-
I use superflex bushes on my ARB, they are good quality!
-
It's the bit starting in EP91 and it's quite a long number
-
I did indeed, they seem to be silent! Yeah, decided on this back when I bought it and had it rocking the pink wheels in '11 LOL! *Update* Nice little surprise I found on the GT, now residing on the NA And more importantly.. http://s56.photobucket.com/user/lowrida786/media/Project%20EP82/IMG_20130625_154732_Hagrid_zpsb213b304.jpg.html'> Should sit a little lower on the back with my sub and rear speakers, happy with it for now. Just MOT and tracking tomorrow..praying everything is okay! Amjad

And thanks to everyone for the help, will update soon!

Yeah the alignment guys said it would be an MOT failure. My MOT tester did the work so when I go back to him in the morning I'll get him to replace it or knock the cost off my MOT price! Thanks Rob! Lucky Asad mentioned it! lol Just span the top mounts round, ohh my god!! such an improvement! Felt like an absolute dog to drive earlier, now it's much smoother!! Just hoping that it brought the toe back in line (it did seem to pull the rods in!)
-
Oh really? Will local motorfactors do them? because I'll be needing to pick one up when it goes for MOT in the morning
-
Quick q while I'm here, are lower ball joints same as NA? Noticed a split on the boot
-
Gonna head out now and give it a shot!
-
I've seen pics in the link that Asad posted, and apparently the allen bolts should be closer to the firewall than how I have them now?
-
Okay reallllly hoping this sorts it! I hold my hands up, big fail. I thought everything was going too well yesterday lol

Left side: http://s56.photobucket.com/user/lowrida786/media/20130625_152708_zpsb2d25666.jpg.html'> Right (dodgy toe) side: http://s56.photobucket.com/user/lowrida786/media/20130625_152653_zps668525e3.jpg.html'> So all I need to do is undo the 4 bolts, and spin round the top mounts 180 degrees right?
-
I am a retard. Have installed the top mounts the wrong way LOL
-
Could it have anything to do with top mount setting? The camber is very positive on there
-
Don't really understand what you guys mean, not too technical myself :L I'd have thought that if there was a way of doing it they would know? Also been reading about inverted track rod ends? No idea how they work but apparently they might help to counter excessive toe?
-
GT's really testing my patience now.. Just took it to get alignment checked with the Meisters on, and this was the spec sheet Everything is generally not too bad and can be brought in, EXCEPT the front right TOE They said that it's beyond what they can bring in on the track rod ends due to running out of thread on them. I just had them replaced with new track rod ends the other day. What can I do? For those that don't know, the car was a CAT C and had damage to the front left side. The extent of the visible damage was only the wing, headlight, and some of the panel behind the light. These were all replaced and professionally repaired along with a new front chassis section from toyota. But it was suggested this impact have damaged another component on the car suspension or subframe wise. I'm hoping the problem is due to bent wishbones? But you can't really tell whether they are or not so.. Any help greatly appreciated guys, I really wanna get this sorted after the time, effort and money I've poured into this car. If I can't then I'll be forced to break it Amjad

*Update* So, quite a few pics to add! Here he sat in the garage, plan was to do the CV boots, ball joints, track rod ends, repair small crack in decat, weld bonnet catch and MOT. All was done bar the bonnet and MOT unfortunately, but I should be going back on Tuesday! Removed the battered screw type '82 wipers and fitted freshly sprayed '91 Aero ones (caps were put on after this pic was taken) Similarly, got rid of the fugly rear wiper for a slick little Yaris one Gave the rear calipers a few coats of lacquer (as it hadn't arrived the night I was spraying them) And then spent today swapping over the rear suspension, managed to do the Meisters and ZEP panhard rod, and I removed the RARB from the NA. I'll probably get the mechanic to drill some holes for it as I don't have a drill! I also swapped over the GT stock panhard rod to the NA, as the NA one was so flimsy in comparison! You could literally twist and bend it in your hands! (NA one on top and GT beneath) Wound the rear down about 3x360 degree rotations on the coils, fair bit lower than it was on the NA. I think this is about the limit for low offset wheels, tempted to go lower as the OZs will be rocking 45 profiles, but I'll see how they sit and go from there! Need to keep in mind that speakers and the sub will lower it further! Note: the flash makes the arch gap look bigger than it is, and my driveway is on a slope so less weight on the back too http://s56.photobucket.com/user/lowrida786/media/Project%20EP82/IMG-20130623-WA0013_zps1776233f.jpg.html'> http://s56.photobucket.com/user/lowrida786/media/Project%20EP82/IMG-20130623-WA0011_zps44a70f9d.jpg.html'> Hopefully more progress tomorrow and the MOT Tuesday! -Remove Meisters, ZEP Racing Panhard rod, Whiteline FARB & RARB from NA DONE!
