  1. he doesn't have one but said he is getting one this weekend to measure. what exactly is it he needs to measure just so I know? Im sure he knows but I kinda need to know everything also..



    basically I had bad det which screwed 3 pistons, killed the rings and slightly scored a bore.



    so im changing the pistons/rings and I wanted to change the bearings also but its proving to be a right pain in the ass..


  2. hi guys my engine has been stripped by my engine builder but its starting to take a while so im sourcing parts my self.



    just now im looking at replacing the conrod bearings etc but he has sent me a photo on 1 conrod but on each side it has two different stamped numbers.


    one side has 1, and the other side has 2.. so i dont really know what im to order?


    and on top of that im not sure if i am to order main bearings or main shells etc also.


    any help?

  3. He just thinks their must have been an issue for it to be across all the cylinders .

    My fuel pump was dying for a while and I never knew so I reckon that hasn't helped.

    I just don't want it to die again.

    Would fitting an afr gauge help ?

  4. ok so recently my engine lost compression in 3 cylinders resulting is this

    im told its bad detenation, now i didnt realise i was running pretty leav for months on end due the the fuel pump gradually dying on me and its only when i went to performance hq to get the map checked as it felt flat russ told me it was about 15 afr at 4000rpm so we eventually changed the fuel pump and it ran fantastic for about 200 miles and then i felt as though it was loosing some power (a thread is in the engine bit).



    so the engine has been stripped and my engine guy reckons it may be down to the injectors as its only 3 which are really bad and one is fine with just a few score marks on the side.



    he also suggested the dastek unit i have could have caused this, but its been on the car for a few years now so not sure..



    ive ordered new pistons, rings, shells etc but not sure what to do about the injectors as im only running a hybrid setup at the moment and he said i'll need to get the map altered if i changed to bigger injectors.



    whats your thoughts ?



  5. by the way guys i put up a post about this not that long ago, advised it was fine etc etc and now my engine has been stripped as ive lost compression in 3 cylinders.


    compresison came back fine when tested before hand etc but it was obviously a problem for mine.
