Yer man it looks cool, think that'll be one of the next things i do to mine. Are the tints good quality? Don't scratch? cause my mate got charged £160 for back and all 4 side windows so £120 sounds good!

Hey, does anyone know where to buy decent rev counters for the ep91 from? (seeing as I can't find an SR one). And also - does anyone know if there exists a rear strut brace for the car that doesn't involve cutting the plastic in the boot? Thanks - James

Hey mate, just noticed you've got tinted windows! Could you post up a nice side on pic please so I can see what it looks like (as my starlet is green too!). Also - how dark are the tints and how much did they cost you? Cheers - James

Hey mate - nice looking ep91; very unique! Do you know what rear strut brace that is, and where it came from? As it looks like no modding of the plastic has had to be done? Cheers - James

Car's looking good man, dark green starlets are dope! Loving the green sprayed sidestips too; was thinking of doing that to mine as apposed to taking them off. How much did that spray job cost you if you don't mind me asking? All i'd say it needs now is a spoiler and you'll be pimpin!

Lol, i'll keep an eye out for that then! Just bought some on ebay and the guy wants £12 postage insurance!!! I think i'll have words.....

Cheers mate, sounds like it might be what i'm looking for! I'll have a look for it on ebay.

Nah its not a clutch smell, and the brake pads got changed not very long ago. The only thing I can think of is that the guy I got it off cleaned it woth something and its the smell of whatever he used burning off? Just a thought though?

My underbrace (which along with the top strut brace has improved the handling no end) rattles noisily against the standard n/a exhaust. I was wondering; seeing as these are designed for turbo starlets, do they have this problem on glanzas/GTs? If not, would it solve my problem if I bought a standard Glanza/GT exhaust system; or would this not be compatible with an n/a?
Failing this, can anyone suggest anything that I could put between the brace and the exhaust that would stop the rattle but not melt or burn? Thanks in advance - James

Ok, fitting went well as far as I can see, and put a K&N panel filter in too. Results can definately be noticed; the car seems to rev/pull quite a bit better. However, I do notice a strange smell when I get out of the car after i've been giving it some?? Anyone have any suggestions as to what this might be? James

Ok cheers mate! Whats this i've read about longer hosing though? James

Hey, getting my mechanic mate to fit my inlet manifold tomorrow, and was just wondering if there's anything else besides the actual unit itself that i will need? And is there anything that I will have to tell him that he may not already know? (He's never worked on a starlet) Thanks in advance - James

James, why didnt you ask me lol ?
Strut Brace king here
Its soooooooooo simple, undo the mounting bracket on that cylinder thing (oil filter) which is located just underneath it holiding it in place (you can't miss it) with a suitable tool and this will allow it to be moved (keep the bolts just in case), so push it down as far as it can go, and then you will find that you can fit your brace.
However the cylinder thing will be tight against it so I recommend putting some material in between like a thin piece of foam or even folded cardboard. This will minimise metal to metal vibration. Also you will find that after removing the cylinder thing's mount, you will get some vibrations or slight rattling, this is normal so dont worry
Here's a pic from my exclusive Starlet Archive to show you how it should look:
Any other Q's you know who to ask
Peace Out
Joz
Haha cheers man - appreciate it! Didn't see you on msn? Is it safe to do this with the oil filter? And isn't there a way to do it without it rattling about? Cheers

i fitted 1 of these to my car. the cylinder thing is a fuel filter i think? all i have done is removed the bolt holding it in place and moved it to the other side of the strut brace. if you understand what i mean?
Hmm no I dont understand really? Is it easy? And do you have pics? Cheers

Hey, I've been trying to fit my standard GT front strut brace; but it seems there's something obstructing it:
The cylinder type thing to the left of the airbox prevents the brace from fitting properly; and the wire cluster to the right looks like it may interfere slightly as well. Has anyone else had this problem, or know what to do about it? Thanks - James

Haha well from all this it seems I had no idea what the cars were capable of! I'd been using 2nd till about 20, 3rd till 40, 4th till 50 odd then 5th above that! I reckon I need to get myself an SR rev rev counter!

Hey - I have an n/a sportif (no rev counter) and was wondering if anyone could tell me roughly what speeds it is safe enough to go to in each gear? Thanks - James
-
Yer I thought the 5e-fe because it would work out a lot cheaper to do than a 4e-fte and would make the starbo perhaps as fast as a saxo vtr (maybe???) which would definately do me for a while until I could afford a Glanza.

Hey guys, I have recently been thinking of putting a 5efe engine into my starbo. I was just wondering if anyone knows how easy this swap is, and what sort of power figures I should expect to see from the swap (BHP 0-60 etc?) Any info would be appreciated. James

Yer man I'm at uni there, living off London road. What do you drive/where abouts you live?
-
Just 97s? Or is it 98s and 99s too?
-
Are you sure about this? And would it be a big job to fit? Cheers
