I remember that car, or at least everyone talking about it, it got written off just before I bought my Paseo.
Never expected to see it again, shame its a sham now, I think with a revamp and a different kit that would look a million times better, and of course, the front end done properly
-
The corrossion isnt as bad as its made out to be, just make sure its undersealed properly. I had slight corrossion on the sills when I bought mine, but I had it sorted straight away, and I'll be undersealing it properly again come summer time when its warmer lol
check this place out, plenty for sale and tips on buying etc. www.mx5nutz.com

I love that
I wanted to do a bumper like that for the front of my old car, but was too much work lol
-
Speak to Sparky dude, I know he's mates with Rhys so he'll probably have his number
-
Yeah, I got a few from that day on my computer somewhere lol
-
Well, 2 years 10 months I owned it for dude
Yeah, those were pretty much the first mods I did to it, it all snow balled from there haha
-
Now I've found my thread again lol, I thought I'd make the final post in this project.
On 24th January 2010, I sold the Paseo to its now owner in Southampton. 6 days before I picked up my replacement, a 99 Mk2 MX5 1.8i, theres a thread up for it in the members other rides sections.
As much as I loved the car, I felt it was time for a change, after owning it for 3 years, I wanted something a bit newer and a bit quicker, and more importantly, RWD y0!
-
That would be an epic base for a b00sted Paseo!
-
Na mate, reduces the suspension travel and it handles crappy, way too uncomfortable. I took it up there with the back slammed and it was just on the bumpstops, down another inch and i'd be back where I started.
When I space the wheels out, it'll look much better
-
You're right Lew
So coilovers are on, new tyres are on. Took it to be set up at a place in Bridgend called Avia Autos, they know a lot when it comes to mx5's and the guy is properly clued up on setting cars up, he's done a fantastic job ;)
Its not the lowest, but when I space the wheels out, the stance will be spot on!
Heres a quick pic of me driving over the black mountain last weekend
Next is to fit the LSD and the BMC DIA I have sat in the garage!
Then I want to de-tango the front head lights and possibly paint the inners either black or gunmetal grey, fit clear side repeaters and reflectors (with the orange bulbs fed off sidelights), and to wait for the exhaust to arrive from a group buy thats on MX5Nutz.com ;)

Nice looking stand :surrender:
I'll probably be there in the '5 somewhere lol
-
Coilovers fitted, I'm just playing with the ride height to get it to sit right now.
New tyres going on tomorrow, and the diff will be going on in a few weekends time when its drier and warmer lol
Will get pics up once its slammed properly, got about another half inch to take it down on the fronts and an inch on the back before it sits just right
-
Unfortunately, I'm skint now after spending out for everything on it lol.
-
Yus, genuine Rays Volk GR-N's
Lips need sanding and polishing and I'll be painting the centres gunmetal grey when I take them off to do it
I have a Limited Slip Diff waiting to go on.
And a set of BC Racing Coilovers to go on too, just gotta wait for a dry day
-
So, picked this up on 15th Jan.
Its a Mk2 1.8 140bhp model :harhar:
Needed a little bit of work, slight corrossion on the rear sills, mark on the front bumper.
Sent it into the bodyshop to have those done and have had it back.
Had the front plate holder taken off and the bumper smoothed behind while it was there ;)
Picked up an LSD for it last night, and I've gotta go pick my coilovers up later on too ;)
Here's the pics I have of it atm:
The old car and the new car
Dw, I've re-drilled the plate so it sits straight ;)

I used to have 6000k in the Paseo.
Going to put the same kit onto the Mazda
-
Glad you got them ok buddy, pleasure doing business with you
-
Planning on supercharging it next year if funds allow
-
Yeah, a guy on the owners club was looking for another one as he had one a few years back. Saw mine and PM'd me about it, if I'd broken it for parts I would've only made the same back, so for the same money it was easier to sell it lol.
I've not got a 1999 Mazda MX5 Mk2 1.8, its fun
-
Yup, as the title says.
I've just sold my Paseo!
New owner just picked it up and its on its way to its new home in Southampton!
Now to spend on the new car....
-
Just had a look in the UKSC Rides forum, and the EL Paseo section has gone? Was there 2 weeks ago as I got the link to my thread to put in my possible breaking thread, copied the link into my URL bar and it comes up with a black and green forum page saying board error?
Not that its a problem for me as I dont drive the Paseo anymore, I just wanted to make a final post in the thread to say my saga was over with it lol

Finding a full lip kit is like finding rocking horse shit, you'll be looking for a long time mate.
I've not seen a complete kit come up for sale since before I owned my Paseo, and I owned that for 3 years! I had a lip kit on mine, but they were all sourced separately and I had the Booster Tuning rear lip on mine instead of the standard Toyota one, which I prefered over the Toyota one anyway. I no longer own the car, I almost broke it for spares, as soon as I mentioned breaking it I had people asking me for the lip kit straight away, thats how rare and how much people want them lol
Good luck with your hunt though, if I come across anything, I'll post it up for you!![](https://www.ukstarletowners.com/uploads/emoticons/default_good.gif)
