Couldn't resist anymore so had to play with photoshop again.
I've been checking where to find 16x8" ET20 grid drifts, but seems they all are ET10! I know they exist with ET20, but seems rare. :/
-
very tidy glanza! , those wheels looks awesome!, i wanted a set of rota drifts on mine but i did some research and it really does look good but i think it puts alot of stress of the front wheels i.e the cv joints etc, ive got a feeling you would be forever replacing them because they would be always popping out the joints. if your willing to sort it out everytime then go for it because it really does look good
Cheers Mac!
Just noticed that in the first photoshopped pic the wheels are Rota GTR's and the smallest size they come is 17"...Too bad. Actually I like more that 5 spoke look than 6 spoke in the Grids...
I just changed all the four cv boots this summer, so I really know how it's done. Didn't enjoy it though! Luckily these glanzas are quite simple to work with, so if there are some downsides comming with cool wheels, maybe I'll just have to bear it. I guess that in 7" width there shouldn't be too much problems in the front? I'd just like to be able to fit 7 and 8" rims on before ordering anything!
Any more experiences on wide rims under glanzas, anyone?

Car looks very nice buddy, i'm running 195/45/16 aqnd ET20 and you will need to have the rear arch lip rolled and possibly flared a little to get that kind of offset to fit nice.
Thanks!
Rolling I could expect. Flaring sounds a bit scary to me, but I guess it's a thing I have to deal with if I want 8" wide wheels at the back....Still, 40 profile tires could solve the problem and I could get through only with rolling?
16x7" should be quite easy in front? I now have 16x6.5" and it's all good. Not sure about the ET for front though.
Is the camber adujustable at back or is some kind of camber kit needed?

Thanks all of you! I've been quite busy whole summer (drove almost 9000km with my glanza during 3 months! ), moved to a different city and got a new job etc...So didn't have time to write here.
So, the glanza is now stored for the winter (yeah, it's not winter yet, but couldn't afford to keep it in use because of the moving and stuff). Got a few pics of it weeks ago, gonna try to upload them at some point.
Although I didn't make any more bigger mods to it this summer after cuscos and power getter, I've been planning lots of mods. Just trying to collect some money to make them true! One thig that has been haunting me is the new wheels I wanna get SOOOO bad! Been browsing stancenation.com too much I guess.
This is what I did today with photoshop:
Been planning white Rota Grids to front in 16x7" and Grid Drifts to back in 16x8". Maybe with ET 20? Can anyone say if it's going to rub like hell? I planned using my 195/40/16's all round. And maybe lower it a bit because it clearly is too high cause didn't get any hits from speedbumps whole summer!
Here's a quick one too, to get the idea:
Oh, and Idrees: The power getter really is an excellent exhaust! Love the sound of it so much, and the fitment was SO easy with all the bits fitting like a charm.
-
Thanks guys! I really appreciate it.
I must say that I was a bit afraid to hear the noise comming out of the powergetter, but it turned out to be very nice and not too loud at all. Other choice for exhausts wat blitz nur spec rx, but luckily it wasn't available at that time, so I ended up to the fujitsubo. REAL jdm.
Here's a few pics more from my camera, those previous ones were from my brothers.

Took a few photos today with my brother.
Absolutely lovin' this car!
Oh yeah, and got the FUJITSUBO installed today!
-
looks awesome! some smaller nice wheels with it slammed would look even better
I like the 16's with 195/40, runs really nicely! Tires are Falken ZIEX-912. I almost bought 15" Advans from Japan, but still desided to go with these for now. Roads here in Finland are not that good everywhere, so slamming it more wouldn't necessarily be a smart move.
Spacers would be nice, but my bolts are too short for them! Is it a hard job to change the bolts? I think the ET on these is 38....
-
Looks awesome. Where did you get the new exhaust from?
Cheers!
Got it from japanese yahoo auction. It's mint, boxed with all the papers and installation equipment.

Ok, so got the Glanza yesterday, fitted my 16" alloys with 195/40 tires right away. Today fitted the Cuscos and rear strut bar and now it looks like this:
The ride height is about 12 cm from the lowest point, could take it a bit lower but I think it's now just perfect.
I still have my powergetter waiting to be fitted. The plan is to fit it during the weekend, I'll post some more pics when it's done. Oh yeah, a good cleaning wouldn't do harm!
-
Got my Glanza today! I'm SO happy right now! Ok, now off to take a few beers, I'll try to post some fresh pics tomorrow. ;)
-
Sweet looking ride! The gear knob is wild, I kinda like it too! Is the old knob for sale? Would need one because mine is in quite bad shape.
-
AND I've got this too!
It's a brand new Power Getter! Does anyone know is this alot louder than Blitz Nur Spec RX? I've only seen videos of Nur Spec R's, not RX's. What kind of power gains can I expect with power getter?
-
those do have it. its on the top of the coilover mate. should have 4 bolts on it that u can losen and move the shock in relation to the top mount if you get what i mean
So I guess they're Zero 2R's Nice! Just got the C spanners for them from post, as they are used the spanners were not included.
Also got the Apexi Auto Timer another day too.
-
think one has camber adjustment and the other doesnt?
And do these have the camber adj? What does it look like?
-
Lookin nice mate, just hope theyr there when you receive the car lol
Yeah, hope so too. It's packed well, not that wide open. So I guess it's gonna be ok.
So Cusco coilies and original strut bar on the way already. Gonna paint that strut black, as it should be, when it arrives.
I'm not sure what model of cuscos those are. I guess they are zero-2's or 2R's. They have five-step adjustment on stiffnes. How can you tell if it's zero-2 or zero-2R? Got then second hand, so that's why I'm not sure.
-
Cheers fellas!
The car left on a ship april 7th, so it should arrive to Finland early june. It's a long wait!
Here's a pic of it few days before it got on board.
Hmm, I think there's some goodies in the trunk!

Hi again ukso!
Someone might remember me from years back, I think I registered here on 2005 and last time I visited or posted anything up was 2006 I guess. So it's about time to get some action!
So, I'm from Finland and I guess I'm the only finnish member here? Correct me if I'm wrong. I've had this NA Starlet since 2002 and I've made a few mods to it: Eibach springs, 16" alloys, custom front bumper, etc...
It's been a lovely car, but as I've had lots of things happening in my life during these last five years, I haven't done much to it lately. Actually that bumper is now in quite bad shape and I'm trying to sell the car...Too bad, yeah I know - but there's something more.
Just ordered a white Glanza V -98 from japan! It's rolled 132 000 km, no rust or bad scrathes. Only bad thing seems to be that the CV boots have to be changed.
It's totally stock right now but I have some goodies for it comming up too. I'll post some more up later. Stay tuned!

that would fly mate nice choice
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i thought so too. and when slightly tuned it would go all the way to moon. do you know is it hard to fit that corolla engine and wires and stuff?
-
Hi mate
That must be very fine mesh you have on the bumper ;b
n/a mean non-aspirated or non-turbo ;b
hope you get a chance to progress on your car!
Peace Out
Joz
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Haha yep it´s the finest mesh you can get! I cut it off from a carbagebin i bought from IKEA.
ah, thank you for translating that n/a. It has no turbo and i dont think it´s never going to get one because of our laws here in finland. If it was made -95 or before it would be possible in smart prices but now while it is a -99 it would cost quite much...but maybe some day i´ll put a corolla 1.6 115hp in it.
-
soundo bro, good to see you have looked us up again,
has your car progressed any further from last year matey?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
No it hasnt i bought an appartment and there goes my money haha! Id love to do lots of things to it and my head is full of plans, but maybe later.
oh and thanks for the comments, they cheer me up.
-
Your streering wheels on the wrong side, I'd get it sorted
Nice front bumper, custom? nice scenery too!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Haha, yeah it is i´m from finland and here the steering wheel is not on the right.
And yep, the bumper is custom as i answered a bit earlier. i also have some project pictures of it.
You should visit finland in summertime if you like that scenery!
-
Is she still a n/a?
A list of mods would be great...
Also your car would look awesome if you meshed the front bumper ;b
I would if I had the chance.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
n/a? i dont understand
Umm, a list of mods:
- custom front bumper
- eibach springs
- 16" CSA alloys with tires 205/45
- clear front indicators
- and a few minor mods not to mention...
i think those are the biggest mods.
the bumper IS meshed use your eyes the mesh is painted black, i like it that way
-
car is looking good as always! had my new bumper on for a while... its getting a bit damaged on the roads now though.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
yep, thats true that the bumper takes some hits on the road, thats a shame but you just have to live with it...

Exhaus is a spot on! Not too loud at all. It has a very smooth and nice low tone. I really can recommend power getter to anyone, if you can find one for a reasonable price!
