  1. @ricky

i never once blamed you for my car taking 4 months to bulid. the motor has been built for 6 weeks now its just this last week or so now the engine is in the car its come to a halt because of this inlet.

like you said above about you fitting the inlet and mapping the car free of charge that would be great :)

I was talking to I assume your Mrs, I think she was venting all her anger at my company. Just glad we have resolved the problem where both parties are happy.

    :D

    Regards

    Ricky

  2. some times these delays happen guys...its part and parcel of the fabrication business (unfortunately). and every now and then..couriers seem to have a mind of their own..its happen to us once or twice..i usually just ring up my shipping guy and go rambo on his arse haha. just be patient..i am sure it will be there soon and you will be well chuffed once mapped! :thumbsup:B)

I keep saying we will stock all the parts we fabricate. We started, typical if you have something on the shelf nobody orders it, or they want something different. :)

  3. Wank! Worst bloody service ever for the amount of money people on this forum throw away to race tech (that's right im naming now) you would expect they could meet the time scale THEY set! You can under stand a few days or maybe a week late but weeks and weeks later is a joke. and then you factor in that he has already sent this somewhere else to for the fun of it they got it fine funny the way it can't get to td tho!! JOKE JOKE JOKE

I don't think spending money on an intake manifold is throwing money away. Lewis' intake manifold was indeed sent somewhere by mistake, but we got it back as soon as possible and resent it, I cannot control things with couriers sadly that's out of my hands.

The intake has been finished for a long time, the problem was the supply of the fuel lab regulator, we don't stock them as to be honest, the standard reg and fuel rail setup is fine for most cars and we don't sell that many.

We buy them from the official importer and they were out of stock. So at our expensive we imported some from the US and it turned up.

Please don't try to blame your car taking 4 months to build on us. The engine has only gone in the car 1-2 days ago I was told?

Hopefully the intake will arrive in the morning, I'll chace the courier up again first thing. If for whatever reason it doesn't turn up get it mapped on the stock intake, then after the show we will fit the intake and map the car for you free of charge.

All the best with it, be interesting to see the numbers.

  4. Our "bigger turbo kits" will spool as good/better than a TD04 and make more power than a TD05. I'd strongly recommend to save and buy something decent.

Remember things like the manifold and downpipe design will play a part in spool and max power. I don't think any manifold on the market other than ours even has a "true" merge collector.

  5. Handling wouldn't be bad at all if done right. Ride is actually about as good as it gets, Air is much more complaint than springs, Range Rovers, Porsche Cayennes etc all have air suspension. The Ferrari Enzo does also IIRC, although that might just be to lift the nose for bumps.

  6. Thats all well and good but...

I wouldn't put a head on that engine with the block surface as it is.

    You haven't measured the bearings

    Did you measure the bores?

Did you do the ring gaps?

Did you measure the crank for round?

Did you torque the bolts or measure stretch?

Etc etc. Engine assembly is what your doing there, and yes, my 3 year old could do it. Engine building is all about measuring, tolerances/cleaning etc, this is what takes up the time. We could charge 2 hours labor to assemble an engine.

We rebuild more forged engines because they have failed than we rebuild standard ones.

  7. We have extensively monitored crank case pressure on the dyno. I'd strongly advise you run one, it depends on the engine, the clearances, the power etc etc.

Something not many people know is breather setups gain HP, and more than you might think. The cross sectional area of the bottom of a 4efte piston is approx 43cm^2. x 4 this is 172cm^2.

Lets say you had a huge breather issue and the car had 1 bar crank case pressure. Thats 172kg's of force acting against the pistons every single rotation of the engine. At 6000rpm's thats 100 x per second. So even 0.01 bar would result in 172kg's per second acting against the pistons. Again 0.01bar is at the other extreme.

  8. I couldn't help but notice recently too that pretty much every road in Nottinghamshire is having average speed cameras installed if they don't already have them.... Not being funny but, if the government have enough money to put a line of 4 speed cameras up every mile, they can afford to do something about fuel prices and the taxes.... The public is getting bummed by the government, raping us all in the forecourt and then on the road as well... The nation needs to do something.

I keep thinking about how to cut down all the fucking cameras lol. Someone will soon enough. I hope.

    Speculate to accumulate!

  9. Im guessing thats power v torque on that graph..? if so power and torque will cross at 5250rpm so something looks a bit out? Epic motor tho, and im sure its going to be plenty powerful, afterall it is what it drives like, not what a dyno says

They would only cross at that point if the scaling on both sides was even. Common mistake people make. :)

  10. I cannot believe the strapping on that Evo, I can believe the old man stepping on the rollers.

You forget, and one day i'll end up doing that while rushing around like an idiot.

  11. It looked faaar too dark in the picture to be a billet wheel. (you know the grey/cast kind of look) I can see it on the post though. Actually looks like a Precision turbo's wheel in its geometry? Could be wrong.

    hi ricky,

yes your reply was totally fair.. you seem a gentleman! fact is if you are anything like me..we take so much pride in our work and put in so much of our lively hood into our work that we will always feel our products are better than others..but i have no problem giving much credit where credit is due :)

godzilla billet kit is rated at 400+whp..if a customer needs more power..then its just a matter of changing up the specs. all boils down to how much someone is willing to spend at the end of the day. not sure why you said the turbos in the pics do not have a billet compressor wheel..you cant really see the billet wheel (or the compressor wheel clearly in general) in any of the pics. i've included a pic of the turbo with the compressor housing off for everyone's reference..

all our manifolds come with lifetime warranty.

results on my car would be on a 5e. thank you..

  12. Just about to book my car in for mapping, and noticed my Race-Tech mani has cracked :(

Thats not good to hear! PM me and return it and we'll sort it out. However it must be said. If your running a td04 without the car been mapped the EGT's will be WAAY too high. Your lucky its just the manifold I guess. Our newer manifolds are actually much stronger anyway, but still, I'd strongly advise against running them on a stock ECU/Jam etc, simply because it gets them too hot. We've seen cracked manifolds/turbos etc from pretty much most of the manufacturers from people doing this.

not seen any of the wepr stuff in the flesh seen a few people have a few issues with it but sacha always seems to sort out good solutions for it. run a race-tech set up atm and its great bought it second hand and cant fault it at all. have only ever bought one thing direct from race-tech which was the ct9 oil feed/return. messaged them on here couple days later to see if it had been posted was assured it had been posted the day before but when it arrived it was post marked day after i had messaged which kinda buged me as i woulda rather they had just said weve been to busy but it wll be done tomorow but thats me being picky :p .

This actually happens fairly often, However it should only be the following day. We'r pretty friendly with the guy who owns the post office, all recorded or special deliveries have to be there before 5. (when the shop has closed) he processes them the following day. Sometimes if the guys running late, he will process them upto about 5.15. It just depends how busy we/he is.
