  4. Ok, stole this link from TGTT, i'm not very well up on my hondas, indeed its fair to say i'm almost ignorant of their ways, let alone the Jap tuning and styling scene in the USA, but this is SERIOUSLY impressive stuff! its just another world out there, although i'm sure Japan makes even this look like amateurs! Link to car porn took me a while to view it all but totally worth it to see what they're doing out there. also, try to spot the white guy!!!! because there are like, almost NONE to be seen! kinda funny. Phil.

Phil.
  7. lol no worries Blair dude! @Si - i was totally astounded by the insurance, and I actually asked her was she mistaken, and I have since had it checked with a different member of the Flux staff and they have confirmed the quote was correct. she explained that the reason it was so good for me was 5years protected NCB and an advanced driving licence with the IAM. Phil.
  8. thank you Mr Fisher! Phil.
  9. i missed it!!! damn! Phil.
  10. German beer is the sex - i consumer COPIOUS volumes last time i was there. Horatio, i like your style sir! Phil.
  11. you still havnt answered my question. you gonna explain to me the thinking behind your argument about horsepower and braking, or am i just talkin to myself?? i get the feelin im being ignored because u dont have an answer for me, which wouldnt really surprise me - i mean, even my girlfriend understood the principle behind the argument, so why are you continuing to ignore me?? i'm still not bein a dick, but seems to me your simply avoiding answering my question because basically you have no answer. and another minor point, u say the real thing wont fall apart as it came from the factory - ok, i can follow that. but thats asuming you leave it stock. you tryin to say that even modded to 200bhp a Glanza will be factory reliable over a stock spec FTE conversion into an n/a which is what i'm doin?? so, essentially, your modded Glanza that you currently own will be more reliable than my conversion simply because mine is a conversion, thats pretty much what you're saying right???? or am i just putting words into your mouth now?? hmmmmm? "matter of the fact is spend all that money on the n/a .. youll be able to buy a modded turbo already for the price you will put into it." so far my conversion has cost me around £1300 for all the engine with components and a WEPR FMIC & blitz decat, with another £100 to spend on an exhaust from CCMotorworks - gotta be honest, not too many nice glanza examples floating around for £1400, and before u shout about insurance, its an additional £80 over my N/a premium, so round her off to £1500 - for a factory stock, unabused FTE conversion. so, again, i disagree with your argument about the money involved in a conversion ALWAYS being greater than the price of a modded turbo - the money i'v spent on my conversion simply disproves your argument and I can assure you that not a single corner is being cut in my conversion - because its MY conversion, and my car hasn't seen a cut corner in anything i'v done to her. Phil.
  12. very very smart! like that look alot! Phil.
  13. no words i could type could do justice to that link. car porn doesnt even come close. i imagine thats sorta how heaven looks....only with more hotrods, more Ferraris, my own Zonda, and some EPs and S15s thrown in! Phil.
  14. Shelboooooooooooooooooo! your so very old!!! so very, very old. but we love you more and more every year!!!! have a good day my dear! Phil.
  15. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH Boooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! big TC decals for Project BadgerSports! thank you for clearing that up Rick! Phil.
  16. bah, he's spent too long around Jay and his 82s thats his problem lol!!!!! gotta keep him outta Jay's yard!!!! @badass, thank u kind sir! @Ste, again, i couldnt agree more with what Nic has said above. if u run over those points in your mind for a week or two, maybe you will answer your own question. remember, front cuts or even engines alone are not cheap, and u will want a good solid one for peace of mind (something i emphasised strongly to Jay when we were searching for my engine), and always remember the additional parts that can quickly add up, again as i am currently finding out - exhaust, FMIC because u have no bonnet scoop, looms, depending on where the engine comes from it may not even come with a gear box, manis or turbo as some breakers sell it all seperately, boost gauge, fresh service items (oil, filters, gaskets maybe), BOV??, king lead.....and any particular items you may specifically want, e.g. blitz decat, catch can, mesh to protect FMIC. the costs can quickly spiral if you're as fussy a git as me lol! and then the old killer, insuring a conversion rather than a factory fitted turbo car....biatch! Phil.
  17. given the factory-set bias towards front wheel braking yes, i agree, front end braking is inherently the most important area of braking for the EP, the improvement in everyday braking that i gained from the disc conversion - whilst positive - wasn't exactly mind blowing, and wouldnt be the first place where I would start in terms of improving braking ability when increasing the power of the car. it just looks 100times better, but the improvements are not drastic; front end upgrades would and have provided much more positive improvements (discs, pads, BMCS). indeed, if u take the time to think about it, only one regular member (i'm excluding burwash's rear caliper upgrades) who has investigated the potential benefits of shifting the braking bias in the EP is Nath, and in order to achieve this end he was looking at having to spend LARGE sums of money on a pedal box, something that the average starlet ower such as myself would never have any call for on the roads. In short, Ste, u can ask me in a month or two if the conversion was worth it mate. the anticipation alone has maintained my interest in the conversion route over the past 6months. for me it was the obvious choice and the next logical step for my particular project tbh; mine has come that far that to sell up would be financially retarded, makes more sense to continue to further the BadgerSport project. I guess it comes down to how far your own project has progressed, and how attached you are to that particular shell and chassis dude! Phil.
  18. they will look very tasty dude! good call! Phil.
  19. cleverclogs! reason 1) Aesthetics reason 2) They did provide a slight yet noticeable improvement over standard on my wee n/a's drums as i noted at the time of the conversion. Phil.
  20. Not that you'd be biased or anything lol!!!!! :D Phil.
  21. What you talkin about Willis?? I'm talkin about the wee ones on the back of my car that rick sent with my Rays. Phil.
  22. rick! u filthy limey prickbag! Phil needs a TC tshirt! send it to me via carrier pidgeon! The Great Horatio has a private Courier Pidgeon service, make use of that! Phil.
  23. lol i didnt use anything overly complex mate. as Alan from Two and a Half men says, "A reasonable command of the English language is not the sole domain of the gay community". Phil.
  24. my posts aren't being bitchy, I've stated twice that i aint being a wiseass. im simply tryin to develop the argument from "your an idiot" to an explanation with some proper substance to it, from name calling to reasoned explanation. the bitchyness has got nout to do with me. Phil.
  25. good rob. i dont disagree for a second that brake upgrades are not worthy of attention, thats not what i'm contesting, i have upgraded my own brakes. but this post above just makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. naturally bigger horsepower cars require better brakes, because the manner in which they are driven differs significantly from how a stock EP80 or a Metro would be driven. however, we're not comparing stopping distances of Zondas to Starlets. We're talking about comparing starlets with starlets, and in particular about how a standard brake setup will fare in terms of stopping distance with 130bhp compared to how it will cope with 190bhp+ if being driven at 60mph for each test. at no point does the extra 60bhp impact upon braking distance simply because the engine is capable of that added performance, its a like for like comparison of brake setup at a common velocity. so, having said that, Love can u explain to me where the added bhp comes into play in the stopping distance?? i'm honestly not being a cunt, but u called Rob an idiot and implied he has some shoddy brake setup simply because he disagreed with your opinion, which I am also now doing. as far as im aware my n/a will pull up from 60mph just as well as Jay's 300brake monster simply because the brake set ups are fairly similar. you mentioned setting pads on fire and warping discs, so i will anticipate that your reply will refer to how a 200bhp starlet is driven much harder than a standard n/a and will therefore be much harder on the braking system, which is of course logical - geo has cracked numerous discs whereas I havnt, simply because he drives harder than i do. but this is not the point that rob was making, so if u provide the above reply it will not be relevant to the argument that u and rob are having - comprende????? Phil.
