  1. Hey, sounds like valve stem seals to me. as when you come off the throttle, the engine creates negative pressure. Basically the engine is sucking against the throttle plate, if your valve stem seals(valve guides) are worn then it can suck oil from the head through the stem seals. Then when you go back on the throttle, that oil is all going to be burnt off when accelerating. Take off your inter cooler piping and see if there is any oil lurking in there, give you an idea if is drawing in oil before or after the throttle. hope this helps
  2. Cheers Enzo, Received coilovers today, brilliant service, superfast delivery, and they look sweeeet! I dont want to fit them they look to good haha ! Cheers Pal!
  3. I'm down for this . 1. Festival500 2. glanza97 3. Lawsy
  4. Sounds abit like valve stem seals to me, on over run the throttle plate will obviously be shut, causing the the engine to have almost complete vacuum, so the engine will have alot of negative pressure. So if your stem seals are worn or are not a great seal, on overun (backing off) the engine will suck oil from the cylinder head through the stem seals. Then when you put your foot down again you will be burning off the oil in the cumbustion chamber. Just a thought, but might be worth while? Stew
  5. The white smoke will be steam. To have some steam coming out of the exhaust is normal as the exhaust will condensate especially on colder days and short journeys, due to a cold exhaust and hot gases passing through it on start up. But ifs there is excessive white smoke pouring out then you could be burning water. I.e Blue smoke = Burning oil Black smoke = Runing Rich Excessive White smoke = Burning water/coolant So if you are burining water, then obviously water is making its way in to one of the combustion chambers. This could mean the head gasket could of failed or something worse. Chec
  6. Ive heard of a few people have had there starlet suffering from clutch judder, but its simple to change a clutch on one of these. If your mechanically minded that is.
  7. What youve described sounds exactly like clutch judder. Like you said when the clutch gets warm i.e after youve been driving it, it will judder on pulling away (feels horrible) Clutch juddder is normally caused by either, Mis-aligned clutch, Clutch wear (friction plate, broken 'finger' springs etc), Condensation on the flywheel (which normally happens on colder nights) and also contamination i.e leaking from the seal. In most cases your probably find its just the clutch that is worn. But when replacing the clutch, make sure you check the condition of the flywheel as it could have high spots
  8. No worries mate. No havent had any probs with mine, real smooth engagement/disengagement etc. Youve had a look on the site i take it? I would think 160bhp would be close to the limit on a standard clutch but im not completely certain on what a standard clutch would start slipping at, im sure other guys on here will help me out? But m running pretty much standard atm, except rx7 cooler, and some lil upgrades like Dumpvlave, plugs, air filter etc. And all works a treat
  9. Hey mate, i had this scenario a while back. Wasnt sure which to go for as dont know what the fututre brings with mods etc. But i ended up going for a Exedy standard replacment clutch off TM Developments (Dave), fairly cheap too. Due to cash situations and ease of use, being used as daily driver. If your not planning to be modding past stage 1 mods then should be fine on a standard replacement one i should think. Prob aint helped much but was just talking from my experience Stew
  10. Cheers guys. Think it looks alot better, but like you guys think another drop is needed but think ill just save for some coileys
  11. New pics! Managed to drop the car a tad more after relising how high it sat. Even still, it could go lower But happy with her for the time being. "> ">
  12. Cheers guys. Yeh i relised it needs lowering some more, it is lowered 30mm already but the fact i didnt really have it on the levelist of grounds didnt help that pic lol. Hopefully get some coilovers for it though, want it to be nice and low, unless theres a spring package which can drop it more than 40+mm? anyone know of any?
  13. Fairly big update for me , finally got my rota gt3's on after managing to get a fourth one. Sorry my camera aint great, What you think??

Quick question, bit of a stupid one but just wanted to make sure we dont have to stay right till the end untill we can get our cars of the stand? just im bringing the GF and doubt she will wanna stay allday (may get bored)?
  15. tbh you dont know what condition the turbo youve just fitted is in? so the seals could be worn on that? But could be a number of things, could be headgasket but the oil isnt under much pressure atall when draining back through the head to the sump, so the gasket would have to be blown fairly bad for it to be leaking into the combustioin chamber. It could also be valve stem seals, but this would be more noticebale on overrun and from start up.
