  1. 570bhp what the loving poo-poo. Sire, I doff mine cap to thee.

    Lol thanks :)

Sorta lost interest in it so went down to ECC and fired it up, first turn of the key, bar a flat battery. Took some new pics.

I think its time to do what needs to be done to regain my interest. Just lacking slicks at the moment, racing saturday if I can get a baby sitter lol, see how it runs on normal tyres.

Faulty tyres which Mickey Thompson have kindly offered to replace in return they want them back to see what happened to make them fall apart.

Peak RPM 9380, peak boost though is 0psi, so think it wasn't producing boost the last time out a few months back, terminal was down a fair bit and only ran 12.3, was confused on the day to why it didn't spin in 2nd or 3rd gear and never made it into 4th before the finish, all very odd things, need to check this out, if it wasn't making boost thats a damn fast time for NA lol!

  2. Sounds VERY smooth!

Glad to see she is getting used so early in the year, will you be making it over to santapod for japshow or japshow finale???

    :)

I'll be making a few appearances at the Pod this year, the first run over will be a quiet one though to make sure all goes well, after that though I'll let people know when its running but I would like to do one of the Jap show events.

  3. I've heard of this happening to others. Your right there is a welded nut on the innerside and it can sometime break off causing the problem your describing.

I've heard you can get at the nut by pulling up the carpets and cutting a small hole in the floor on the inside, sounds extreme but may be the only way.

Now thats what I heard, no evidence to back it up so be sure before you start cutting the floor! Could maybe put something up the bolt hole and hit it with a hammer to see if it leaves a small mark on the floor on the inside, then you'd know where to make the cut.

  4. if you and john are taking it for a test drive tomorrow you should call into my work or go past john knows where i am. and im sure my bro Alan E will want to have a look aswell.

Dunno if I'm heading down tomorrow but if your chattin to him tell him to call in, been chattin to him a few times up there.

  5. I know alot of fellas don't check out the members garages and follow build threads so thought I'd fire it up here.

Recieved a phone call from East coast customs around 6pm this evening with some unexpected new. I was meant to be heading down there tomorrow morning to get a bit more mapping done but seems they found a little time to finish her off today.

The following was done at 2.1bar of boost running pure methanol for fuel, we where originally going to use 2.5bar, also the car is fitted with a 150shot of nitrous but nitrous has not been used in the following run, also she's not been ran at her max rev limit.

    Enjoy :harhar:

  6. It's handy to setup on some ECUs, my own setup basically you jam the throttle body open 30% so it never closes even when off the throttle. Rotational idle cuts the fuel now an then when idling so that she doesn't just rev out.

You wanna have the ignition retarded back a fair bit, in my case I use 27 degrees after TDC, the fuel lighting so late causes the exhaust gases to be still expanding in the turbo which spools it up, you then add extra fuel, the fuel does nothing else except cool the exhaust gases so your valves, mani and turbo don't melt.

It's not healthy for the engine, you'll generate exhaust gas temps up around 1200C but damn its good fun with this turned on I had 2 bar of boost while off the throttle between gears, but it'd kill you on the streets, one tap on the throttle and the ECU senses the TPS changing postion and it releases all 2 bar in a flash, very fast and very scary if you forgot your place on a corner.

I'd not recomend it for the road. Launch antilag is a different thing and would work well on a street car.

Mine last year, using launch antilag to start and rally antilag on gearchanges.

  7. Contact os giken mate, they where exactly who had in mind tbh, and im sure they will do a 5e fly for you if they dont alreadt make one as i know their range is alot lot bigger than people think bud, a redrilled 4e fly at the power your looking at would always be a concern in the back of my mind if it was my engine. But defo defo drop them a line as they are a fantastic buch! :)

I must drop them an email and see what they have to offer.

  8. i had heard about these new fuel lines in work (i work with a certain Mr Kyle who i am sure u know pretty well lol) but i never imagined they'd be THAT big dude!!!!!

heading to straightliners in Sept or is that a silly question lol??

    Phil.

Aye Colin was down at ECC on Saturday, he hung around and watched some of the mapping. It'll be out at Straightliners for some fun, wanna get into the 11s over here before I go for a 10 at the Pod.
