  1. Looks like there's gonna be a good turnout to this.

dont think i'll bother going now though tbh.

certain recent "occurences" have soured my attitude towards showing up to this, its nothin against the local lads, but i think i'll wash my hair or paint my nails bright green or something equally as pointless.

to those of you running, all the best, but i doubt i'll be there tbh.

    Phil.

What are you talking about! Get your ass down there and race!

Also I think you should head to the first outting on Sunday (14th March) to practice for the Honda day! Going to be running a few experiments on Sunday myself, will start off running the same power as last year in the morning, then more boost mid day and maybe a little madness in the final runs if I;m feeling brave, 2 hours is a long way to tow a car!

  2. 320hp  ?? Gonna look pale???

Holy shit I would look pale shotgun in that thing

    Sounds good mate

Only running 1.5 bar with a safe ignition map on that run. 2 bar going on with a much more aggressive map, also have a Direct port nitrous kit sitting here to go on. Should see over 400hp. Need a dog box I'm thinking.

  3. Yet another long overdue update.

Chris has been continuing to work his magic with the mapping, 2 months ago we managed to produce the following.

    Spuddy5Enew.jpg

We just found out today though that the fuel pump has been failing slowly over the last 4 months, so much so the car just kept getting leaner and leaner untill the emanage couldn't be adjusted to add anymore fuel.

Thats all sorted now though, no mapping could be done today due to the rain and traction issues in 3rd gear, just waiting on a dry day this week and we should produce a figure that makes this one look pale in comparison!

    I'll keep yas posted.

  4. Well the 5EFHE revs quite high so I wouldn't worry about the bottom end either, it's not like it's revving 8-9-10k rpm, so I wouldn't worry about it aslong as you've got atleast 4EFTE valve springs.

The bottom end on a 5E won't take as much abuse at high rpm as a 4E but if your staying under 7500rpm she'll b grand.

  5. The 5E isn;t as rev happy due to the max piston speed being exceeded lower down the rev range than a 4E. Also with the longer stroke the bearings can take a serious kicking if your reving to much. valve springs are the least you should be worried about :surrender:

IMO don't rev past 7500 and keep the stock springs. U wont need to go past 7500 anyway.

  6. Yet another update!

It's all happening. Now running a fully forged 5E build, only 400 miles on her so she's not been let loose in all the violence it deserves.

Replaced the Emanage blue with an Ultimate (launch control is great!) and replaced the TD04L with a Hybrid TD05 blower. Currently only running 0.8 bar but damn it can shift! The 330cc injectors are already at 80% duty so next upgrade is cams and 550cc injectors with alot more boost!

I'll keep yas posted, not decided yet if I'll make my final Rolling road charts public yet, seems I'm going to have some serious competition in the Irish drag championship.

  7. wicked, now honestly mate with a gtr pump, safc and fpr do you think i could get a reliable car at 1.2 bar on td04?

also do you have actuator still?

I honestly don't know, so long as your getting a good AFR throughout the RPM range then it should b fine. I'm running with an external wastegate.

Wot year is your GT? The rods are alot thicker in GTs 94 and under, 95s and Glanzas are thinner.

  8. mate 1.35 bar on stock internals? all going well? Im seriously tempted to get emanage and run 1.2-1.3 bar now... Mmm

Aye still stock internals, holding well so far and its had alot of abuse today and yesterday, no oil is being spat out anywhere. So far so good!!!

Really just messing with the engine cause its coming out of er in a couple of months so not fussed if it lets go, but I don't think it will to be honest.

  9. Gutted for you lad, really hope u get it back in one piece. Mine got stole once, got it back within a couple of hours but afterwords its hard to explain but when I drove it I got sorta angry they took it and was so paronoid about what damage had been done to the engine, which in the end was no damage.

I'm sure you'll get er back.

  10. wow!!... well you recon il be safe at 1.2 then? cant afford £500 for management and mapping yet, plus tuners round my area are shit, wish i had chris local lol, aint spoke to him on msn in AGES, he go on much?

With a Safc and fpr correctly set I wouldn't see why not, are u setting it urself? U would near need someone to drive it for u while u keep a very close eye on the wideband.

Mine fueled perfect up to a bar with only a fuel pump and rrfpr which was originally set for my old Hybrid running 1.1 bar. I got a hell of alot of back fireing though, every aggresive gear change let out a burst of flames, was nice but my fuel consumtion was a tad high.

  11. old wheels look like these enkeis i saw ages ago lol, cheers for that mate legend!

know of any 4eftes running 1.2 bar/td04 on stock managment over there?

Nah lad don't know of any, as far as I'm aware in Ireland i'm running the most power on standard internals, as far as I know, so apologies to anyone thats running more.

However in Sri Lanka they don't forge their cars if only running 1.4 bar on a TD04, also a guy in New Zealand running around 340bhp on standard internals, not sure wot turbo it is though but must be a big blower.

  12. Aye Callan I'm temped to crank it up to 1.4 bar on the standard internals, they will take it fine so long as the timing is retarded a bit, aparently the 4E runs too much advance for standard pistons at this level.

You'll be grand at 1.2 bar if she's fueling good, just make sure u get it checked for knock at this level cause thats wot'll kill er.

did you get rid of the old wheels then?

Still got the old wheels have the Toyo R888s on them for drag days, but will get a couple of 14s with slicks I think to get the nose lower to the ground than the back, try and get the weight up front abit more.

  13. saw this bad boy again at the TGTT RR day in ballymena before crimbo, lookin good spuddy dude!

    Phil.

Aye unfortunatly the old clutch packed in on the rollers lol, all we got was a loud screamer noise as it came on boost then the limiter lol!

Least it gave me a kick up the arse to get the diff and paddle clutch in which was all sitting on the floor for months.

I must come to the next starlet meet on these forums, anything planned?

  14. Thought I would give this another update.
