Where the wishbone meets the chassis at the back closest to the middle of the car it meets the chassic theres a big bolt, i put my jack on that... axle stands on those big metal guards that are bolted to the chassis rails

Exhaust mounts all looks good, engine mounts I've just replaced for powerflex ones, was thinking maybe brake pad retaining clips? Yeah I tried that mate, and my mate managed to slip of the clutch and back my car into a tree, hence I'm needing My bumper sprayed lol

Still got this issue, drivers engine mount had had it and I thought it was that, replaced all with powerflex and still the same I've noticed if I kinda lurch the car forward a couple of feet or so then harshly brake it will do it both on the harsh set off and when I break to a stop?

I always thought you just jacked the car up and rocked the wheel to check for play but I've been told to loosen the hub nut then check for excessive play?

Right, as I made a topic before I have a weird knock when I set off, now I noticed the other day the engine mount on the drivers side by the Cambelt cover was torn, took it out and it was almost in two pieces, I got another one from a member on here which looked split but not as bad, as a temp measure, now within 20 mins of having it fitted and taking it for a drive it's split the same if not worse? Is the engine mount my only issue or is something causing this? Hard to tell with the replacement also being damaged but I don't wanna waste my money on a full set of engine mounts if something else is causing it, the bottom mount looked ok but never checked the gearbox top one?

Don't get that, it may destroy your engine!!!! As you may have read I put a topic up about an oil leak I recently had, with the same setup as you mention above, anyway long story short it was coming from that, when I went to loosen it it sheared off, spent an hour getting the piece out of the block and have now replaced with a remote mounted t piece kit to stop the weight of the sensor snapping it. I only assume the leak was where it was cracked and if i hadn't sorted it sooner it would have snapped and pissed oil everywhere!
