  3. lol, speaker will blow and could also damage stereo, but mainly speaker damage, positive wire will have a coloured line in the wire and neg will be full coloured.
  4. just disconnect the ends at the speakers and leave the wire there. try using the headunit without engine running and see what happens too. wires are prob ok but the speakers can cause problems too.
  5. cool, if you need any info pm me, also do you know your alpine headunit model no? my mate always has alpine, i dont like them personally as they are too fidly in the settings but you can fine tune alot of them for the desired sound as they have good processors.
  6. are you passing Don Valley stadium on your route? if yes approx time? as i can then join you.
  7. 6x9 is you want bass, best to have them running at the back, the ones you posted with the amp will require preouts from your headunit, if its a decent alpine one you will have front, rear, and sw pre-outs so you can have an amp to run speakers.
  8. you will have to get some speaker rings from mdf (sized up for your size of speaker)and have about 1.5" thick (or thick enough to get enough depth like your pockets)and wood treat them so the dont get rotten from water or moisture. take off bottom door card, and glove box area with door sill plastics, then get a long enough speaker wire and solder them to existing end of the current speaker ends and run wire through the doors, attach speaker terminal spades on ends so you can attach them to new speakers, make sure when soldering and attaching speaker terminal spades that you dont mix up pos n
  9. just want to know if there are coin holders like this design for starlet? or if this can be easyly modded to fit starlets? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-MR2-MK2-Inter...=item45f8ed4161 this one below is just an example of one fitted in a car http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Civic-Type-R-JDM-EP3...=item3f077316f8
  10. is that 20mins with the car engine running? only other thing i can think of is disconnecting all the speakers and just run the headunit and see if it still happens at the moment.
  11. you wont notice much to be honest if using existing front speaker place, have you measured how much depth you have to play around with to fit bigger speakers? as i dont think theres much to play around with? you might get away with 5.25" if you make custom brackets.
  12. thats sounds too suspect to me and just wants to get rid of you i.m.o. i have a headunit that measure my battery voltage and max its every ran on even when i had the battery on charge was about 15.8V and will then slowly go down by 0.1 volts after a 1 mins of use at low volume to a low 11.6v if i had on for a while and thats with engine off. and thats when i had 3 amps powering my speakers and 2 subs. i think you should have the main fuse on the headunit checked and also the ground point. Does the headunit always goes into protect mode from switch on? or do you have to use it a while for it
  13. no point in upgrading the front ones due to the angle as the sound face's down and wont be able to here them as the back ones over powers them, best to have some made on the front doors and get some 6.5" speakers fitted, will make a big difference, about the power 4x50w thats max peak watt it will give as a guide, your head unit will give roughly 30watt rms power to each speaker and 50watt max rms. Best to get a speaker with higher watt RMS rather than going for high watt peak power.
  14. hi, i was wondering if anyone has seen this done to starlets or any other cars apart from evo / scoobys as i am thinking of sticking them on my rear end of my roof. any suggestions? evo example here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mitsubishi-Lancer-Ev...=item5d2891cd1b
  15. red stuff pads are really good, got them on mine, wheels dont even get dirty from the brake dust, before when i jetted the wheels alot of brake dust comes off, now i dont have any of that and wheels wash easy, very good if you have coloured wheels especially chrome or white
  16. just managed to swap my work shift so that i could attend the meet and now i see this....... so where's the official meet taking place and at what time??? might have my mate in his a3 coming along.

  18. Done 110 in my n/a, doesn't feel safe like in the newer cars, don't think am going to do that again but the car loved it. The back box sounds very different at 100plus as sound like a jet engine plane taking off on a runway. Had a good run with a fiesta st

  20. 200 seems about right as i just had my clutch and gearbox (gearbox 2nd hand) done on mine for £320, 4 hours labour to get it done.
