  2. Yeah, rear bumper painting and painting/fitting of the ducktail spoiler are on the cards after my exams.. :surrender:
  3. Thanks guys, no coolant problems at all the gasket looked fine. We have a spare head that we'll just stick on after skimming it, with a new gasket and headbolts.
  4. Hey guys, As some of you may know we've had loads of trouble with my bro's FTE conversion, the first problem with the first engine was that it had no compression in third cylinder. Cylinder 1, 2 and 4 were fine but 3 had nothing at all. It sounded like a V8, was missing like mad, throwing flames out of the screamer and really struggled to rev. Now, as I looked in to it I heard that we could have bent a valve due to trying to get it running without timing it properly. At the same time people said the 4E has non-interference valves so therefore it can't be bent, however it could not be sealing properly. I opened the head off the block today (go me, first time!) to find this.. A closer view.. And a view from the bottom.. Now, to me it looks like the valve is stuck open. I'm guessing this is why we had no compression, right? And could just this cause it to run like it did? Also, if you look closely the head looks scored here, or is it just meant to be like this? The other side, looks fine.. What could have caused this damage? And finally, could this have cause any damage to the bottom end? Heres a quick pic if anybody can spot anything strange, if not, how can I check myself if there is anything dodgy going on down there? Piston 3 All helpful replies will be much appreciated, thank you.
  5. I'm borrowing my brothers wheels at the mo which have the Paradas and I think they're pretty good.. Some pics.. Anyone think I should paint mine the same colour?
  6. Manifold looks good, looking forward to see how it performs.

    Trd.

As above, TRDs are very stiff therefore likely to explode on these UK roads!
  8. Parada Spec 2s on order! :surrender:
  9. Check this thread out mate, it has some pretty good info. http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35470 Although my 5E plans went down the drain!
  10. They are decent filters, yeah. You thought about an Apexi though? They're awesome and not overly priced.
  11. Thanks Phil, yeah your right. TRD Engine mounts were fitted, they feel so much nicer to drive with! I also had basic wheel laser alignment done, I'll get the proper 4 wheel camber set up when I've got my new tyres. ;)
  12. Looks sweet, I like the colour of the rims
  13. I'm on here doing BS all the time so I wouldn't mind it, I found myself asking people to post in the right section too much at one stage so just gave up, but if I could I would have moved the topics myself!
  14. Do your heaters warm up nicely? Maybe you need to bleed the air out?
  15. I'm offended. I post here allllllllll the time, and have been here for longer and still not a mod. ;)
  16. ;) Yeah why not, give me a ring.
  17. Thanks guys. ;) I fitted some nice new NGK Iridium spark plugs today, the old ones looked so tired! I have an oil change on the cards for the weekend, and hopefully tomorrow I'll get the wheel geometry set up - really overdue! I am also looking for some new tyres, I did want some 45 profile tyres but I think I'm gonna go for the 50 profile Parada Spec 2s. And those coilovers are pissing me off along with the fucking brakes a creaky top mount and a calliper scraping a disc are really really annoying and I don't have the time to look over it so I might just take it to a garage on the weekend. I wish I had stuck to the stock size brakes with the single piston calliper tbh. Ps I'm keeping the TRD mounts so they'll be going on soon too hopefully.
  18. Thanks Jason. Sam I dunno yet mate, I'll see. Maybe another breaker but this time an Auto Glanza, buy it as a runner so I know the engine is sweet and then break it and stick the engine in mine when I'm ready. That way I will know the engine runs nice, the cars an auto therefore cheaper and also less like to have been ragged!
  19. Looks nice
  20. Well I've sold off half the FTE parts now so it's too late to go back..
  21. I dunno what's next, he wants to sell it and I don't blame it but obviously we can't sell it in this state. And he can't afford another engine right now so we'll just wait and see!
  22. Nice one Sparky that's a good result.
  23. Haha, a lot of people ask this question but once you fit it your gonna kick yourself because it was so easy! I can't describe in words how they fit, but damn they are easy to fit!
  24. Woah, looks evil alright!
