  1. Thanks for your input guys.
  2. I have but its more work than I have in mind tbh, and I've heard those engines are not the best. Not really worth the hassle imo. I use the car daily for short journeys by the way. If I went with the 5E, I'd probably go Turbo a couple/few years later.
  3. Hi guys, Need a few opinions please.. I'm soon looking to start getting things sorted on my cars performance side of things, and not too sure whether to stay N/A or save for boost. Here are my two choices: 1) Buy a 5E-FE and modify it. Something along the lines of: Open ITBs setup by SAFC, aftermarket leads, 4 branch exhaust manifold and a full exhaust system including decat. Ported and polished head from a spare 4E-FE too. 2) Go for a 4E-FTE and rebuild it and prepare for fitting it next year (after having my licence for two years). Something along the lines of fitting a TD04 Turbo kit including manifold, downpipe, FMIC and exhaust system. And then I'd want Glanza engine and dash looms with an aftermarket ECU setup and all other fuelling mods I need. Obviously this is fairly big money but it would be spread out over the next 18 months. What should I do? Stick to the slow 1.3 N/A for a while and jump to big boost, or stick to N/A tuning for a couple of years? I know it's my car and some people may say I know what's best for me etc, but I really am quite stuck so need your help!! Wrong section by the way, could someone please move it to the General or wherever it belongs. Sorry!
  4. x2!!
  5. Yeah the doorcard needs to come out mate. Theres two nuts holding the handle in from the inside, and the metal cable thing attached to it. You'll need to disconnect that then undo the two nuts. You might need to take a couple of other things off too for easier access but it's not hard as long as you remember where to refit them.
  6. Mine gets resprayed every year since I've had it but I've only had it for nearly two years, so just two paint jobs. Check the oil every few days, I use my car every day for short journeys. Service every 10k or maybe more. Oil needs topping up quite often though, well only when I redline it, and I do that quite often! Mine is N/A by the way therefore made to get redlined to death, not quite the case with the Turbos!
  7. You could say that again. His username is Newbe, he has a 96 stock white Glanza on black rims. Sure he'll be around here soon enough. by the way I'm in Huddersfield, but my car isn't a Turbo (yet).
  8. That's the right code but theres more than one varient. If you get the wrong one the paint could end up looking too blue (the paint it Blueish Silver iirc) or it could look too silver.
  9. Wow they look amazing mate, nice buy. GT3s are for winners.
  10. Nice parts mate looking forward to seeing them fitted
  11. I drove my brothers for a month or so when I passed, because my own project was still not finished. His: Then a few months in our old GT: Then I got mine on the road:
  12. No way, it just isn't the same!! S'all about N/A P0WAHH!!
  13. Whats wrong with having the power at the top of the rev range? Think about Vtec! I have breathing mods and absolutely love the power delivery on my N/A, it kicks arse and sometimes surprises me!! Edit, sorry just read your bottom line. Sorry for posting!
  14. I built it, nuff said really. (trying not boast here by the way)
  15. The lower the offset, the more they'd stick out. For example, 35 will stick out too much whereas 45 would sink in to the arches too much. Replying to you thread on TGTT now mate.
  16. Haha ouch, fancy a drive around there in the Glanza mate?!
  17. 5EFE time mate. You know it makes sense.
  18. Looks ace mate! That EK9 looks AMAZING on those Advans!!!!
