  1. just dont want you panicking about it, thinking you need to change to external wastegate or port out the turbo when its not needed mate, anyway issue sorted now as per our phone call and play about with that boost controller. Ive sent you a PM aswell....
  2. sorry daz didnt mean to get funny, i know you know your stuff
  3. well to be fair you did say best way is to get a manifold and go external wastegate which cost you £450 when its not really isit? didnt mean to sound rude but this lad is new so dont want him panicking and thinking he needs to change his whole setup, and fair enough he didnt say it was td04 so people wernt to know. i had this car setup on the dyno and it never overboosted or crept, think its something to do with the boost controller gain settings or something, its not really a turbo issue.
  4. exactly, can people stop giving this lad bad advice! TD04 wastegate doesnt need porting, its size can easily control the flow of exhaust gases and is big enough to control the boost internally, particularly at 0.9 bar, ive seen people run 1.4 bar on internal setups. the issue is with the boost controller for some reason creeping, which i think is down to the gain setting being too high on it, although i never had this issue myself and always held 0.92 bar spot on
  5. hello lads this was my old starlet! doesnt need to run an external wastegate setup nor does he need to port the td04 wastegate to run 0.9 bar! the internal setup is more than adequate at this boost. all he needs to do is adjust the settings on the boost controller to adjust the gain features to stop it spiking. danny dont panic you dont need to change to an external setup on a TD04 running this low boost!

  8. thanks for the reply mate the only concern i would have is that there would be a fair length of wire on show and i want it nice and neat so thats why i want to drill a small hole and feed it through. really unsure how i would reach the wires, would taking the glovebox out give me some more room to see up towards the dash do u think?
  9. i want to mount my gauges on the dash above where the heater vents are, on the same line but further back so in front of the clock (if that makes sense) ive taken off the plastic trim what sits around the cd player etc and im wondering how i would be able to reach the wires and wire it through? i cant see how i would get to the wires? is there anything major i need to be careful of when drilling through the dash?
  10. thanks for the tips lads i had to use a hair dryer to soften up the rad hoses and rad water, then flushed it all through and started it and ran fine and didnt overheat with any leaks. came home did the same again and filled with coolant/anti freeze mix (halfords advanced) as i couldnt get toyotas red stuff today and started her up and its all good... luckily there was a slight bit of coolant in there as the water was pinkish when i drained it so really it was more like slush than ice, so lesson learned... remember coolant!
  11. my car is sat at my mates house as it was left there and ive been snowed in, and stupidly when i changed the rad when i fitted my td04 we didnt put proper coolant just water but i never remembered to change it and as a consequence my radiator is now an ice block now my engine block is probably fucked but just gona let it all defrost naturally and see how i get on really pissed off about this and im annoyed ive been so stupid tbh as i really do take care of everything else regulary and cant believe i forgot this! where are the frost plugs on these? isit a case of taking the whole engine out
  12. haha only just read this that was my mums box summin to do with candles but i robbed it just for you! lol hope u like the short shifter kit
  13. shorty the more u remind me of that head spec i want it haha! that would be a savage head, definately free up those restrictions thats for sure!!
  14. £350! mate my whole middle section from the downpipe to backbox cost 139.99! your not having a new downpipe or backbox are u? if so they are charging u loads! u need to book it through a company called top gear, call this number it will go through to their headoffice, get a quote then they tell longlife in basingstoke to do it they said to me any centre section was that price, doesnt really matter on bore size 01256 688 476
