hi guys, well i fitted a fmic yesterday and OHHHHHH MY GOD!! the noise!!! bought a massive smile to my face it is f*cking sexual!! but, me being silly as it was going dark forgot to tighten up properly one of the clamps and had a pipe blow off when i was coming home (i got the pipe back undamaged so i can put everything striagh back on thanks to a bloke in a vxr that stopped behind me and helped and chatted with me for 15 mins) so i will be tightening them all up very very tight today.................
will it all be okay with the miklar clamps tightened up>> or is it usually best to put a dab of silicone or something on the silicone hoses to help them stick a tad better to the metal pipework so it avoids any blow offs when boosting hard in the future? i have heard hairspray is a neat little trick, can anyone confirm this?
muchos gracias!!

Hey up john, did you mean GT or a glanza? if its a glanza i have seen another silver one whizzing about time to time round chesterfield, think he lives eckington way as i saw him once or twice coming back from work i thinks ,,,allways give him a flash and thumbs up and he does the same seen him last week in the donut car park as i was passing, i was going to ask if you knew who this is?
-

does the vac line have to be disconected mate? whats the difference?

hey up pal, i have fitted one of these ;ast week i was reading the same thread on toyota gt turbo, it is a little confusing but you can do it from that, basically from what i remember the INPUT on the fuel reg goes to the end of the fuel rail where you installed the adapter, and the OUTPUT goes to the return fuel line which is located right behind the gearbox, to the right at the bottom / back when your looking at your engine, follow the end of the fuel rail see where that goes then connect it to there, and the vacuum to the fuel reg just attach that to where you pulled the vacuum line off you standard fuel reg smile.gif
bit confusing but i hope this helps, am sure someone will be along shortly with a lot more knowledge than me and might be able to explain a little better, good person to ask is john (ro55ifumi) anytime i have a question about stuff he allways knows the answers smile.gif

hey up pal i was told its best to run fuel reg at about 45psi to run a bar of boost safely, BUT i dont know about TD04's mate and if they will differ sure someone will come along and confirm / shed light on the situation
-
got an ebay jobbie mate, seems to do the trick i was really confused at first but studied and studied and it made sense in the end lol, oh yeah just to ask federalman you did get a fuel rail adapter didnt you mate? if not you will have to order one of those so you can fit it

hey john hows it going? glad uksc is back online! been away for a bit holiday and stuff, i have not fitted an actuator yet bud, so far had exhaust, decat, rrfpr, air filter relocation, going to get front mount in about 3 weeks getting actuator so can have a boost set at and be safe deffo i am getting hks in about a week and a half i will have a check for some boost leaks as i may have missed something when i did it so will have a check
john, is it worth getting the 255 fuel pumps or can the standard ones handle ok? i can remember you saying anyways hope ya well bud, mat

hi all, fewwwwww questions well i fitted a air filter relocation kit after taking my aircon out and honestly the actual sound from fitting one of these is immense!! you can really hear the turbo sucking!!! just a question really as everything is normal aint it sounding like this?
oh and another thing, i am getting a front mount in a few weeks and have been going about installing everything rrfpr etc etc etc so its all ready and my car was boosting at 10psi before i fitted the air filter relocation kit and i had terrible boost creep as i had a decat etc fitted, but now after fitting the kit i dont have any boost creep at all BUT the boost has dropped to 8 psi,,,,,,anyone help on this as to why?
oh yeah i swapped the vacuum lines to elimate the hi / lo boost before but is there anywhere special i have to put the vacuum lines back? as there was one going from the EFI pipe but now with the kit fitted there is no where for it to go,,,,,thanks
oh and the dump valve is still dumping but not as loud as before, is this normal with the air filter relocator kits? if nto i will check for any boost leaks etc
mat ;)

bonnet latch thingy with that brace ....................

hi guys, well fitted a fmic to ym car and i re attached the bonnet latch up nice n tight but now the bonnet wont close its a ba*tard! BUT..............i did take that brace thing that goes from the latch down to the chassis bar off (i did not think taking that off would do anything to be honest as its as flimsy as they come and made of bloody tinfoil - is this needed to make sure it shuts right so it locks in? or could it be something else like the latch being f*cked? i am gonna go underneath today and have a look, any thoughts anyone? thanks all - mat
