Why the standard airbox? at the moment it has a corolla manifold and a straight through backbox. And whats the deal with the air temp sensor? mines currently plumbed into my cone filter. And also if i compression test it and all is well, is it worth fitting a 0.6mm headgasket? Thanks

Best bet is getting one made up, choose a subtle tip and a nice big silencer box, sound brilliaant mate!

As long as i get near 100hp im not bothered, as its coming out of a scrap car it will be rebuilt, get the head sent off skimmed, ported and polished etc, over winter, not many people do it. obviously it would get all painted up, made like new etc. and how much for it mate? what power is it? Thanks

Just been to the scrappys to get a radiator of a 5 door starbo, it has 40,000 miles on it and is in good nick, apart from the egnine has been sat with no bonnet over it so it looks manky, had a thought of buying it and skimming the head, porting and polishing it etc and just wondered how expensive is this to do? and how much are these engines worth? Thanks!

Right, found out the problem was a blockage somewhere in the rad, and it was bone dry so thats why it overheated! the slight vibration, rattle was because it got that hot, thank god i only drove it for a short amount of time! went to the scrappys today and got a new lookign radiator for 25quid, so will get that on tomorow. once we filled the rad to the brim the car ran fine, and has been on a drive and its okay. Just going to take it steady, as i dont think its done any damage!

I know man i tried a thing of radweld, but i had to use it to get around and it wasnt losing much fluid!

Its not that loud, im told not to drive it which is common sense really!

Thanks guys, started thinking it was the engine!

Long story short, have had a small leak in the radiator for a bit or so now. car was losing a small bit of cooolant and had to top it up a little bit every few days. temperature is staying Normal. drove home tonight and its very cold outside, temperature was fine, then all of a sudden it was rising very fast, then it went off the scale. stopped for a few minutes and it went back down, drove for about 40secs and then it did the same, finally got home after 2 stops and checked the engine again. didnt seem too hot, radiator wasnt steaming etc, the only thing i noticed was a weird almost rattley noise, but the engine was the same as it always was, and it wasnt doing it all the time. Is the thermostat knakered? or the waterpump? Thanks guys

Just wondering if its worth doing? i asked this before but i now have a janspeed backbox and a rolla mani, would it make any difference in power? and also noise, how much louder does decatting it make? And also, doesnt the fuelling get mixed up when you decat them? Thanks!

Just went to order a KandN oil filter off ebay to go with my oil for a service, and realized im 17p of being able to afford it! is there any better oil filters out there for less than £14.91? i dont want to buy a cheap one! Thanks!
