  1. What are you doing awake it must be about 3am over there?
  2. So it might have a bit bad fuel economy untill the aftermartet ecu. Seeing as mine is only doing 72hp atw it should have a noticeable gain. 2nd gear skids at drags (hopefully) Ill get the setup once my bank account has recovered from getting the facelift glanza bumper from idrees. What is involved in rebuilding the bottom end? I live within 5k's of an engine rebuilders so i may get a quote from him. At this point i think i will have a go at getting as much power out of a 4efe as possible without forced induction or laughing gas (nitrous) Cheers, Daniel
  3. They were doing it on special for 480 to get rid of it, cant see them going any lower Do you think it would be a good idea to put it on another engine? since mines done 236,000k's and im not sure how much life is left in it Is you estimate at the fly or at the wheels?
  4. I was talking to a cams specialist near home and they have a 4efte head which has had alot of work done to it, which has been sitting round for the last 3 years. I am planning on getting it and fitting it to my last gen 4efe. They only want $1000nzd (~£480) for it. The specs are as follows -Head is ported -pressure tested -hardness tested -has new valve seals -seats cut -valves cut -surface ground -re-profiled 272 cams -valve clearances done -new springs Will this work on the standard ecu until i can afford an aftermarket one? What sort of gains could i expect?
  5. Will the earthing kit fit onto a 4efte aswell?
  6. Good idea, ill check them when my bank account has recovered from Christmas spending
  7. Yeah thats what i was thinking. Only reason i thought of the timing is the motor seems a bit sluggish when i put my foot down. Oh well should just bin the motor and put in a 4efte and be happy with it
  8. Possibly stupid question I've got a last gen 4efe with coilpacks (standard) and am wondering if it is possible to advance the timing? I had a quick look at the setup and cant see any way of adjusting it. Any ideas?
  9. 4th gen 4efe = corolla mani + coilpacks Mileage: 234,000k's (~145,000 miles) Mods: Pod/cone filter, 2-1/4" decat custom exhaust, 5e-fhe exhaust manifold, oil change Power/torque/fueling figure: 52.3kw atw, torque is miles off, air/fuel = rich (partly due to no ducting to filter) Graph: Sorry about smudges
  10. Sounds good, I think it will be 8am monday morning in NZ
  11. wouldnt it have same mounting problems as the 4age?
  12. Oops. Can a mod please move this thread to exterior design?
  13. How have you guys wired your foglights when you did your glanza conversion? I had a quick browse of the net and found this guide/pic. Would this do?
  14. Im on dial-up it could take a while
  15. I have a design in the makings, just need a pic of what the underside of a glanza v bonnet looks like. Anyone have a pic or could direct me to one?
  16. @Asad - It gets really foggy where i live so ill be keeping them. I like the idea of the complexity/uniqueness of having the hood intake. Pics of the foglight way could always change my mind though.
  17. Thats f**king hilarious must have worked really well... until it rained. Although I dont think the police over here like anything sticking out of the bonnet like that. Yeah it will be better on the bonnet as it will then be out of the way when working on the motor and you can still access the filter easily. What will be the easiest material to make the ducting with?
  18. My cone filter is slightly larger than the factory airbox so i will be making a custom sealed box and ducting. Ill try draw up some plans and see what i can come up with. Do you think i should use mounts form a factory top-mount to support it? Should i use fiberglass or aluminum? Would it be better to have the ducting mounted to the bonnet or engine?
  19. Im doing a glanza v front conversion on my n/a soon. I am currently running a pod/cone filter with no airbox so its just sucking in hot air. What i was thinking is to use the hood scoop for a cold air feed and duct the air to a custom airbox Anyone done this before? Would it work?
  20. Finding the scumbags and smashing the window over their heads? Nah, Im currently putting my rear swaybar back on and have just hit myself in the lip with a spanner . Next mod is a glanza front conversion which i should be getting either just before xmas or start of january.
  21. Kinda difficult to take a picture of something thats see-through. Ill try get a pic
