Ah thats a shame Do you mind if i ask what setup you had, mine is being used heavily for track days at 180bhp running 0.98bar, im just wondering how long she will last like this! Its all stock apart for the mods to support 1bar. Is going well at the moment though

she should be fine For a good while mate, power is well within bottom end capability just keep oil up and keep it cold with a good ammount of fuel and you should be fine.. Oh and always cool her down properly after ;-)

Yeh something in that region. .6 bar on hybrid so effectivly .8 on a ct9 so I should imagine 155-160bhp..

I think it's all down to how you drive the thing aswell, it was taking ctr's, tegs etc etc without too much trouble...

I know mate it's crazy, never had any sort of accident and going through insurance etc.. It's just ridiculous hassle. It's like you pay them all year or for years in my case then they make you do all the work out of cheek aswell!

That dude in the Rx-8 tried racing me on the way down to Japfest when i was cruising up with my mate in his MR2 Turbo. He drove like a twat too reach us and then tried swiftly to overtake..... followed my what I can only describe as loosing to a Fiesta ST lol.

I knew you was gonna over take me Fishy on that first bend lol your cars rapid dude, I had major brake issues which caused me to go easy but still had shit loads of fun woop woop.

yeh he does seem abit odd... and haha, thanks mate, i only picked her up 2weeks ago and the spec is baddddddddddd haha.. stnd brakes for both of us then = total loss! haha! but your right i had no faith in my first session after brake issues but they were ALOT better in the second.. how random....

also on a side note, just read about your issues with your car on tgtt.. been out the loop for far to long but, thats shocking to be frank... feel sorry for you mate.. thats the last thing you expect from what you would have called a "mate". Never been a fan of them and that has re-inforced that opinion.

yeh anything that is a degreaser if you want to stick something..

brake / clutch cleaner, halfords do a foam style degreaser, or just meths works aswell.

Update :

Did a compression test tonight as the old girl has been using abit of oil.... a litre and abit in just under a week..

It appears not to be throwing it out the back according to several different people who have followed me and it is not leaking... it has baffled me a little..

anyhows results are as follows......

They all apear to be between 150-160 which i am happy with tbh, its not the highest but its consistent and surprise surpise the cyl that was lowest was no.3!

its not used hardly anysince since i gave her a top up after track.. and she had some abuse all that evening after jf2 aswell to see if hard driving makes a difference..... looks like i shall have to keep hunting haha and monitor it closely...

Indeeed it is, my mate who owns a bodyshop has pushed alot of it out and it looks sooo much better as it was creased at jf2... It sucks and does ruin the car but she will get fixed ;-))

haha nah mate, i think it was 7 cars id done before i reached the rx8. took 3 in the first bend, one of which was krissyb in his fiesta st lol... id forgoton about the rex and had my eyes fixed on that grey ctr that was pulling away from the rex earlier in the vid.. which i passed on the final lap down the straight after we both did someone round the outside on the last bend = result!! haha!

indeed mate, the spec is so bad aswell haha and its only got 160ish hp i reckon.

I am abit of a nutter when i get into it on track ha! ( in a good way she gets pushed HARD lol )

P.S massive thanks to rob for helping me with it all aswell as normal haha! he was fortunate enough to have some time off work to get her ready!!

Some penis reversed into the o.s.r qtr pannel

going through her insurance so hopefully itl get something back towards fixing her... got her quoted at work today... £1500-£1600... uh-ohhhhh

Update :

So when i brought the car, the collector had dropped off the manifold..... bad times.. so it was in two pieces.

I took it into work and got one of the guys to get his "racing pidgeon" out and sew it back together haha!!

And then fitted it the friday before Japfest 2...

and gave her a quick clean after....... and added my lovelyyy 2x option & zep stickers

This is how she looked when i first got her. She wasnt running, wouldnt start and water was pouring out the back of the water pump when you filled up the rad..... not good!!!

The engine bay was a complete state aswell so we decided to whip the engine out the day after i brought her so she could have a good clean up... i really dont dig dirty bays lol..

eeeeeeughhhh dirrtyyyyyyyyyyy lol

Then gave the whole lot a clean up and started getting it all back in and back together the day after...

And what they bay looked like afterwards ( before a proper clean and before the manifold had been rewelded )

During this time i had started stripping her out and fitted my c's short shifter... ( will get a shot of how stripped she is now soon )

And a cheeky little shot of her in the workshop at work....

Then after all this was done we went and did a little photoshoot afterwards....

and one with robs friends civic....

this was filmed from the guy who had the silver rx8...

hes been at most shows on track and gee was up against him at the first japfest for those who where there..

skip to 11:25 mins and the commentary about the "starian or whatever it is.... no its called a staranza.. oh right yeh" begins on the sharp harpin before the final straight haha!
