  1. Try turning the coilovers down. When I had 16x8 et10 I turned my coilovers to their tightest and it was horrible to drive so I turned them back a couple of turns and it sorted it out.

the main problem i have is the wheels offset means they dig in to my arches in any form of 'enthusiastic' cornering, i dont mind a hard ride but hate the fact my wheels are fucking the body work.

  2. right lads! need a bit of help...

decided I dislike my bolt on wings so soon as i source new front wings and front bumper they will be coming off. Ive finally realised my wheels are way to wide because even with 3 inches missing front the front arches, the coilovers set at their hardest and the springs wound as tight as possible it still catches. its just ruined all drivabilty :(

looking to keep the front splitter, get feed style side skirts and livesports rear wing after i get my holiday out the way in august. but in the mean time i want the arches off and some narrower wheels (or ones with a different offset.,) so i'm after your suggestions!

currently running 15x8j et0 with stretched 195/45s. was looking at maybe 15x7 et25/30? to 100% eliminate the tyres scraping or 15x7.5 and et40ish. still want to run 195s as i think they are ideal for the starlet chassis and still want 15s.

what width offset would you reccommend? also what wheels? after something show worthy but not a common style. budget of £200 - £500

my arches will be rolled as far as possible to accomodate the wheels so bear that in mind, this also means the bullet steels are up for SALE!! tyres included - PM for info, will also consider SWAPS

    cheers, Sam :)

  3. Yup.

Yeah the wings were quite a pain in the arse to get done and fit right.

Their not 100% perfect like the way I would like them, but they will do.

    And thanks.

I'm surprised you went to fast lane as well with you being at japfest the day before.

I went to fast lane as well, was a good day.

tired was not the word, was up for 36 hours (1 hour sleep on friday night at the services) and then 5 hours sleep on saturday night then out all day!

were ya there in the glanza? shoulda came over and said Hi mate :)

  4. I wondered who's this was as I've seen it twice now and I know you have seen me as I spied you looking around my car at the secta cruise at hexham. ;)

thats yours? yeah me and my mates were having a cheeky snoop round it ;) haha. i was perving on your front wings because they another thing on my list to do. nice car mate! :)

    That looks amazing.

    thanks man :)

  5. Well after a very long weekend doing Japfest and Fastlane show and over 700 miles in 2 days im well and truly knackered! (could have done with today off work to catch up on sleep haha) got a few pics to upload but heres one my mate snapped yesterday of FuFu on the Carlisle Performance and Modified club stand :)

he's photoshopped the wheels spaced out and its definately next on the list of things to do!!

    Sam.

  6. Great day! Thanks to those who organised it, home now after a 6 1/2 hour drive and being up for 36 hours :S

Had some fun on the way home too following some UKSO members on the M5 taking rolling shots, will upload em tomorrow.

Quality of cars on the stand was brilliant as well :)

    Sam.

  7. Cheers trisk! And Dan what's have you taken out of your coilies? because I don't want to be messing with the internals as I'd prefer it to handle like it does now but lower and yeah the threaded body of the strut goes down and touches the CV boot :/ not sure if I could chop thread off though because I think its got the internals behind. Ideally need an internal view of them. And wheels do need painted and spaced which will probably happen next month. Although I'm looking into adapters at the moment to try and run vitara Fatboy wheels haha, mate of mine makes adapters at his work for the local dub lads so were gonna see what we can do. I fancy some mad 15x10 3 spokes off a Fatboy but the offset is insane! (-30)

Cheers Josh, got lows sorted for yours yet? Can't wait to see yours either mate!

Yeah Lew, needs spaced badly. Gonna try wider wheels as mentioned above :)

  8. update - this happened. the D2s are maxed out on the rears, fronts have loads left but cant wind em down as they interfere with driveshafts (is that a know problem with D2 coilovers when going low?) anyway, thats it until after japfest. funds have been drained. shit quality pic i know but what do you all think? no doubt there will be a few negative comments hahaha

  9. Sell it as standard. Spares or repair for a couple hundred.buy a clean one for £500. Stick ya bits back on and job done. Then instead of saving for a glanza (£2k?) Save for a forged 4e or 5e to drop in. Save a heck of a lot of money in the long run mate. And itll cost you a couple hundred to swap rather than getting scrap value and shelling out for a daily that's gonna be reliable and fun.

Oh and aviva for insurance, it was gonna be 1600 all mods declared for me this year (20 and 1 year ncb) with all other insurers. cost me 880 all in with them. :)

  10. relax mate, paint job isnt an issue unless you want a little show queen. but if the car has mad parts and big power then it can still be a show stopper in its own right even with a crap paint job. gonna paint mine next year with foam rollers (like you use for arts and crafts) and im not even joking. rather have it looking insane and stand out than pristine paint and boring. keep at it!

and as for people abusing your car, who cares? theyve probably got some boring 1.6 mk4 golf on gaySDM's and air ride. and a couple years from now they'll have maybe upgraded to a audi a4 but it'll still be boring as hell and your little beast will have some mad engine and be a track weapon. and its something you can be proud of and say 'I built that' as opposed to their imagination-less car that someone else did all the work on that they only have to please somebody else for fear of being different. mines fucking pink, rusty and covered in dents, i get a fair amount of abuse. just man up and tell them to fuck off :)

would love to see yours become one of the maddests starlets around and for it to happen ya cant give up on it.

itll all pay off when you roll upto Japfest in it and you can show it off :)

    Sam.

  11. 10x better than i would have ever achieved with the pink n/a, looks brilliant mate, the rear wing would totally set this off right now!

cheers buddy! yeah rear wing is whats needed now, lack of funds is holding it back though :S

That looks awesome good to see a na not converted to glanza rep

thanks man :) yeah not a fan of reps, they look good but the NA body (to me anyway) has way too much potential

Livesports wings and spoiler would finish it off.

i'd never thought about the wings. any idea if they work with the standard NA lights mate?

quite fancy some carat lights, GLS door handles (anyone know if they are metal or plastic painted chrome?), painted window surrounds and some type of rear diffuser.

    anyway, my mate did this....

  12. does anybody know if you buy a japfest ticket duirectly from their website whether i covers just the driver or the driver and 3 passengers for entry? my mates going down in his fiesta ST with 2 passengers and parking in customer parking but is unsure what his ticket actually covers.

  13. love them wheels me

    facelift rear lights

    glanza rear bumper with lip

    angled exhaust

    remix front bumper

    crystal headlights

    WIN

thanks man, and yeah i want crystal headlights (no idea where to get em though!), facelift rear lights and some form of wierd exhaust. kinda wanna keep the standard N/A body though. but we'll see where it goes :)

    Damn I want that splitter

£70 ebay mate, cheap as chips. just type in universal front splitter

I feel sorry for any small (or large) animals that get in your way..

oh yes! decapitating rabbits with it will be fun ;)

Would love to see it done full on boso style

probably whats gonna happen mate haha

Cheers mate. Love the wheels. Ull had to ad an extra dish to them to fit under the new arches

yeah, once theyre on ill see about spacing them out then wider wheels next year, be mad if i can get some 10j's on it, the arches will be wide enough for it to be honest!

As i said on facebook bud, splitters looking rude!

Look forward to seeing this at japfest :p

cheers mate, cant wait to see yours either. be good to put faces to names of people on here!

    Sam.

  14. Did you ever get hold of that lsports spoiler? But I think I'm gonna proper love this! Bit of love/hate marmite styling is always good!

cheers haha, tbh im not even sure i like it! just want it to look different :p nah mate, lad never got back to me plus lack of money. but since i never got it i treated myself to a new splitter....

    p4pb10788942.jpg

    p4pb10788943.jpg

    Its a little large hahah!

these also arrived thanks to Stucat87, top guy, fast delivery and good communication. highly recommend him as a seller!

    p4pb10788934.jpg

these will be sprayed black to match the splitter in the next week or so.

Mot on the 15th and it needed some new rear shoes so sat and fitted new ones last night, oil change this weekend and needs 2 front wheel bearings (f*ck wide wheels).

then the interior needs cleaned as it resembles a tramps den.

ordering wind deflectors and splitter support rods tonight hopefully aswell. £££££ 8o

    Sam.

  15. My friend has bullets on his polo but they suffer from goin rusty quick

    IMG_66475611023654.jpeg

And that exhaust is abit extreme lol

yeah mate, these rust in weird places even though their painted. rather annoying haha.

I like the exhaust, it's different and cool :)

cheers! will have to see about getting it connected :)

    Updates are good buddy!

Looking forward to seeing the little bits done to it! :p

thanks josh! also may have just bought something a bit mental... done anything else to your little beast by the way?

Loving this build, its good your trying out ideas that are so wild and different from others , good work :)

cheers mate, just want it to stand out. not to everones taste but i love it!!

anyway, bit bored tonight and whilst on ebay spotted something so stupid i had to have it. pics to follow when it arrives.
