Just bought this Glanza and looking to find out a bit more about it as its running on emanage blue but getting a bit of hesitation in the lower revs.
Brief spec of the car it's got a td04 kit, qaiffe LSD, bc racing coilovers, poly engine mounts and race spec rocker cover.
Was told by the guy I got it off it came up from England
It's got a tuning developments air freshener in it so I'm assuming it's been mapped by them but hoping someone has some info on it? Looking to work out what boost its been mapped to so I can get an adjustable actuator, turbo had been replaced and stock actuator put back on so think this may be the issue.

Yeah Steve said it's the oil seals so only after hard boosting it's the odd puff. Just wanna get it sorted before it comes to a complete rebuild or new turbo.
sounds like valve stem seals

lovely looking gt! you should get some camber bolts on the back so you can go lower
-
as above, looking for gt turbo rolling shell in Scotland, colour not really important, long as its clean underneath!
thanks

Year:1998
Model:Glanza V
Tax:/
MOT:/
Mileage:133km
Description:Selling my glanza v due to wanting an s13 and in all honesty im bored of it already as its my 6th so time to move on i think, for a while anyway.
its an irish car imported and not yet uk registered.
Hasnt come from outside the EU so no tax to pay
Can be insured and driven through the chassis number
still has irish nct and tax and irish logbook
you will be the first uk keeper on new logbook once registered with dvla
Car has 133km on the clock roughly 78k miles
its still in kilometres
Spec of the car is
Blitz front mount
Baileys dump valve
Trd leads
Stainless manifold
Japspeed exhaust
Hks adjustable actuator
Spax suspension
Evo 3 recaros
Recaro ep91 rails
Front and rear optional strut brace
Greddy Turbo timer
timing belt done at 103km
rear brakes overhauled and water pump changed
car is immaculate underneath
The car is currently running stock boost but comes with a Walbro pump and fuel cut defender, my plan was to buy a wideband and get it setup properly.
the bodywork - there is a small dent thumb sized on the rear passenger side wheel arch at the very bottom, scuff on back bumper, scratch on bonnet and a dent on front drivers side wing
ive a new wing to go on the car in 3e5 red. also the front bumper could do with a respray and its a 96 spec not 98. passenger side door handle got damaged by a shopping trolley.
gearbox is a little bit notchy when the car is first driven this however goes away once it warms up. doesnt crunch.
apart from that the car is mechanicly sound doesnt burn oil or smoke, it has the filter on the rockercover and no oil comes out, tried to be as honest as possible.
if the car doesnt sell il fix the bodywork and register it.
Price:1900

Least you found out mate!
Will the penny not close at all? With arm detached
No this wasn't the problem, I found the problem last night when I took the decat off and had a look some of the instant gasket i used to seal my cheap manifold had got into the blades of the turbo and it was stuck solid 🙈 freed it off and cleaned it all up now works spot on as it should with the hks actuator 👍
-
Sold the car now cheers
-
It's like the penny isn't shut properly so it won't build boost but the flap outside the turbo where the actuator attatched points straight up
-
back up for sale
-
I've measured the actuator its 123mm which is supposed to be 0.8 bar, however I've changed back to the stock actuator and still the same problem, actuator is definetly connected to wastegate penny but I'm going to take the decat off again make sure the penny is okay. Other than that I've redone all the vac lines from turbo and dump valve in the right order and it just doesn't boost. When you Rev the car the dump valve spring moves but no noise from it atall even high revs

Recently sold my scooby and got back In a glanza. Went over to ireland to pick up my second 98 red glanza. Forgot how much fun these little cars were!
Cars fairly standard at the minute but that will change I've got big plans for this one
Current spec is
Blitz fmic
Toyo mani/decat
Custom Exhaust system
Boost guage
Turbo timer
Optional rear strut
I've also bought
Evo 3 recaro's on recaro ep91 rails
Walbro fuel pump
Hks actuator
Hks fuel cut defender
The plan is to enjoy the car through the winter and then forge my spare engine for next year.
Pic of the car when I got it
First thing was to fit my 96 spec bumper as im not a fan of the carbon culture front bumper, also fitted a Spair n/a wing whilst I repair a dent in my glanza one.
The I got rid of the horrible alloys that came on the car! Just threw on another set I had in the garage for now.
also lowered the car onto spax springs and stiff shocks that came with the car, these had been cut down to 60mm looks nice but bumpy as hell. they will do untill i get another set of Bc's
Plan now is to fit the parts I've bought and change the exhaust over to a quieter system.
Currently having a boost issue the car wont boost and I suspect it's the actuator

you will need to watch what you remove from the car in terms of interior as you could fall into the modified class which is slicks and alot more cost, im currently building a mk1 mx5 turbo to compete next year
