  1. i havent had any experience with other ECU's but can give my experience on the plug n plays.

    Although there not mapped specificaly for your car i found these to be good.

    Its just a quick away do do away with fuel cut and get a half decent map.

    i had no problems running mine and as i wanted a quick solution this was good as didnt have to book car in for a map just simply put it in and off i went.

    Theres no doubt the mapable ECU would make your car run better but for a quick solution i found my plug n play excellent. Fuelled my car running hybrid and various boosts up to 1.2 bar no problem.

    I think these are ideal for CT9/hybrid set ups and will even do TD04 i believe. If i wwas going dow nthe TD04 route though i would start looking at the mapable ECU options :)

  2. yea id love trade insurance, do you actualy have to be self employed to be elegible, its annoying how normal insurance companies cant give you a single premium for multiple cars!

  3. im in the exsact same boat as you, there maybe another breaking GT thread coming soon! the way i see it is ill do the whole practical car thing for a while if worse comes to worse its not like theres a shotage of starlets can always get another espeacialy the bargain prices theres going for nower days?!

    Just a random question thats been playing on my mind. Was out with my mate yesterday who used to own a GT, when i was driving he said you cant realy hear your dump valve unless your going fast can you? mine used to dump at a lot lower RPM.

    Which got me thinking he is right unless im driving hard it doesnt dump, the turbo is on full boost under 3k but unless im at 3800 rpm you cant hear my dumpvalve at all.

    What sort of RPM do you guys get to before you can hear your dumpvalve when you let off?

    Anyone know where i can get clear EP82 sqaure light indicators from, cant find any forsale anywhere? noticed a car in forsale section has them on so they do exsist somwhere!

    Thinking maybe htese people have been de ambering them themselfs?

    any info?

  6. Im not convinced its the idle control valve. Noticed recently theres been a strong smell of fuel and i get the odd back pop from over fueling. Do you think this could have anything to do with it? Dying to get this soryed as dropping revs cant be good for the turbo!

  7. Hello all bit of a strange one here.

    Randomly the other night my car developed an idle proble. Now this is not a perminant problem and only happens some times but is getting more frequent.

    it seems after i rev my car or drive it even remotley hard the problem occurs. if it is reved, the revs drop back down to around 400 and idle there. sometimes the idle will even drop to 0, the car does not cut out tho if i press the peddle the car will rev back up and its at around 900/1000. which is were i believe it should idle.

    WHen i first fitted my jam ecu the idle was wiered for a while but then sorted itself, it then seems that everytime i done a mod to my car the idle would go funny again but would always sort itself, have tried disconnecting and reconnecting ecu and lettign it idle for 30 mins but same problem occurs.

    anyone shed any light?

  8. got the deflectors from a mate who was breaking his car genuine toyota to :wacko:

    Ive kind of neglected mjy build thread a bit to be honest. got a few bits now ive not mentioned.

    Got brand new discs and pads fitted, have some new red wheel bolts.

    Red performance HT leads on there way and a JD Tuning engine damper coming.

    ALso got some groved and drilled front discs plus braided front brake lines coming.

    Will get some updated pics up at some points shes starting to come along now
