removing auto clutch (converting to auto)
russ78 replied to turbominicooper's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
copied this from another site remove the torque converter and flywheel (not really a flywheel but I forgot the proper name). This is the torque converter. To undo the torque converter you need to pull the plastic plug off the back to get to the bolts. You need to undo them one at a time, and then spin the torque converter to get to the next one until all are undone. Be prepared because they weight a little bit. -

oh sorry yeah I see you have removed the bolt as above use said tool or put two screwdrivers behind it and edge it off bit by bit but looks like you chipped it already. Do not use any kind of heat as the damper has rubber in and it will just melt ..
-
you need to either block the crank so it cant move and use a breaker bar to undo the 19mm crankshaft pulley bolt or use a battery rattle gun to undo it buddy. as for the camshaft bolt it looks as though its been rounded off at some point I had this a few times .... used a pair of mole grips as its only tightened to 7nm so don't need much to budge it

as above my old scooby stuck to the road and cornered like shit to a blanket but... the power was a little bit reserved and to controlled it was far from what id consider an animal, and on the other hand a forged starlet with a big turbo is exactly that an animal. so really it all depends on what you want from a car if you want a mental weekend toy that will put the biggest smile on your face go for a starlet but if its your daily and you use it everyday but you want something quick but comfortable go for a scooby
