A mate of mine was planning this. Apparently the subframes are often known for breaking under load though :/ unless silly strong

Haha Cheers dude. My friends don't understand the obsession, but after owning a BMW and an RS Megane, neither could compare to a starlet!
Two V's! Nice!
Cheers again Hawwy! Can't wait to get it in and running after it gets a good tart up of course.
Nice to see my old engine there bud

Ah spot on mate. Also just noticed that the stock thermostat from ID workz comes with this. Was going to fit a TRD one and didn't think it would come with an o-ring. Ideal cheers.
Also what daniel_g says? That would be handy to know. Looks just like a sealant to me on it though.

Was planning on buying a new one as thats in my shopping cart online haha! Just struggling to source a gasket of sorts.

Alright dude awesome I'll pick some up. Would hylomar work or does it need to be a 'setting' sealant? I usually use it for gasket faces as an extra seal.
-
Well this has been one of the longest projects ever!
Slowly starting to take some shape now though. So far I worked out it was cheaper to buy an already forged engine and fit that so I have bought Hawwy's old engine!
On a stand in my garage ready for a clean and paint
On top of that I've received everything to complete a full rebuild of the front chassis and hubs, i.e. bearings, ball joints, track rod ends, bushes (poly), whiteline front arb etc etc.
Just to save for turbo kit, management, LSD and gearbox rebuild, different kit and a full respray. Decided to just go all out. Respray will likely be soon once I get it rolling again.
Finally coming together though! Pay rises help these silly expensive little cars!
Also to add I got a new daily which I shall post a new progress on!
Another 1A0 Glanza but running a ct9 hybrid and stock rebuild by TM Developments. Running 210BHP. Great little daily compared to the past few cars I've tried and sold. Nothing compares to an EP!
A pic of the two of them until the next update...

One of my engines that I've stripped down I've lost some parts for (silly me I know). It's the bag with the thermostat housing parts and I can't remember whether or not it had a gasket or was just a sealant? If it is a gasket where can I find a new one? Can't find one on camskill/ID Workz.

Adjusted screw and seems to be better now! Although on start up it revs high and takes a minute to start dropping (slowly). Also when I dip the clutch coming to a junction or stopping the revs rise then drop?
-
Awesome shall have a play and see. If not the throttle body will be coming off
-
Is it this rusty screw at top of picture here?
-
If I remove the throttle body to clean it will I not need a new gasket? Or just stick some hylomar on it to seal it?
I'll have a look for the idle screw too
-
This is a different car dude but yeah It's me you're thinking of haha. It's becoming a long project.
Can't seem to see an idle screw on the side of the throttle body? Or is it the nut and grub screw below the throttle cable pulley?
-
There's also a slight leak so maybe loosing oil is causing it to be louder? Ill look for a friction modifier and try that out.

Ny Glanza I run daily has had a slight idle problem as of recent. Ive been through all the basics (vacuum leaks, leads etc) but can't find the issue. It idles at around 2k on cold. Then slowly drops to about 1250-1500 but when I rev it'll sit at 1750 for a few seconds then slowly climb down to 1500. I changed the Idle control valve for a spare clean one I had lying around but still notice improvement. Possible sticky throttle body? Anyone had a similar problem?
-
Finally got it a mate luckily had a set of metal plates for pressing bearings. Lined one up the same size and bang out it pops.
Welding would've been the next choice as that's what I do at work with bigger stuck bearings.
Cheers for the replies!

Im in the process of changing my wheel bearings on my project Glanza. Run into a bit of an issue the ball cages and inner race has dropped out leaving the outer race stuck. Should I just try and press it out with a really wide metal dolly or is there an easier way? I wouldve thought it would come out in one piece.
Also I take it that it'll only press out one way (the wheel side of the hub)
Any help appreciated!

Yeah it does when turning also. More noticeable in a straight line though. It's a very loud clunking and violent jerking just worried me haha
-
I have recently changed the gearbox oil in my Glanza gearbox and have noticed a distinctive clunk at speeds below 40mph (accelerating and decellerating). It never did this before the last thing I did was a full service. It's fitted with a trd LSD (metal plated type). I realise the diff will naturally knock slightly at slow speeds but this is ridiculous and the car jolts about violently. The oil is Fuchs 75w90 stuff (black bottle with red label can't remember the name). Any clues to what might cause this? Simply wrong oil or perhaps a loose mount/collapsed bearing?

Got the engine today great communication from seller. Great doing buisiness with you Hawwy!
-
Bump. Needing them ASAP
-
What kind of engine mounts does it have? Are they still avaliable?
-
Needing new engine mounts for my build. Ideally poly ones or uprated TRD ones. Need all non LSD box ones. Not just the inserts the full mounts! Cash waiting for right ones. Delivery preferred.
