Driving the car everyday and ran perfect all the time.
Drove the car hard and missed second and hit the rev limiter and car made a big backfire.
Keep in mind my rev limiter is at 7,000 not the JAM's 8,500
After this the car ran very bad.
The car runs perfect after 5000 rpm and pulls hard from 5000 to the rev limiter like it normally does.
But up until 5000 rpm even off boost there is no power.
The car isn't misfiring but holding back a lot.
If I leave the throttle off slowly the car gets very jumpy as I nearly leave it fully off as if it wants to accelerate.
Any idea's what it could be?
]I've got NO boost leaks and it's boosting spot on at .9 bar.
Running on a JAM ECU and CT9 hybrid.
-
Running 1.2 bar boost on a hybrid in around 200-220 bhp.
Standard 4E-FTE engine.
Will be on the drag strip a lot with no oil cooler.
Drive on the road a lot too. -
Run a live wire directy to fuel pump.
-
Think my problems sorted!?
-
Mine ain't throwing the code no more after fitting a new knock sensor but it still runs bad if ya get me, seams like spark, fueling, boost problem.
-
Today I reset the ECU one more time.
I changed the lambda for a Glanza lambda sensor from the civic one (unsure of condition though)
Took out and cleaned the CTS sensor.
Tightened all my intercooler piping properly and checked for any leaks.
Fitted a .7 bar wastegate spring.
Adjusted the ignition timing slightly to stop DET
Now going to run this ECU in and see how it goes, if it goes bad then I'll clean the threads for the knock sensor and then fit and re torque it.
If it doesn't then I'll burn the car down -
Lambda wiring is perfect! Even got a new Lambda.
Nope it's a 4E-FTE. -
Fitted the new engine in the car during the week and everything is working as it should, this engine has higher compression then the previous one and in better condition.
I'm getting full boost around 700 RPM sooner then the old engine and the wastegate spring now lets the car boost .75 where as before it would only boost .6 bar
The only problem I had was the knock sensor and it was causing the car to pull itself back at 2,500 rpm and was throwing the engine managment light, fitted a new one and tried to clean as much dirt out of the threads on the engine and engine management light went off.
I reset the ECU and drove for 100km's and tonight took it for a blast and the car felt sluggish and holding back big time on boost as if the knock sensor was out again. If I go 50% throttle the car pulls harder then 100% throttle.
I had the timing slightly retarded to be on the safe side and slowly advanced it and it still won't take boost, the car is actually slower at 1 bar then it is at .75 bar.
Any ideas what's wrong with it? Still shit stuck in the threads in the knock sensor?? -
HAHAAHAHAHAHA Browner ya poor bolix
-
Think i might have this somewhere but it's part of a piping kit.

At the end of the day it depends on most peoples budget. The cost of a hybrid compared to a td04 etc can be ten times as much!! Is the hybrid really ten times better?
In my opinion 0-160kph hybrid is better
140-200+ kph TD04 is better, personal preference is all!
Also if you're planning on going forged 4e or forged 5e a td04 will be better in the long run!
But standard engine i prefer hybrid.
-
what time did you do in the 1/4 mile?
This is just a 1/4 mile track so there was no times there.
-
-
Messaged ya there..

TD04's are as laggy as fuck on a standard engine, ask anyone, I've been in 5-6 different set ups and none of them got 1 bar before 4,000 rpm.
ONLY reason I went CT9 hybrid was because of the lag that TD04's have, YES the bang off a TD04 is insane and it's crazy, but no power from idle til 4,000 rpm and having 3,000 rpm of power isn't ideal for me anyway. -
On a standard engine this is my opinion! Non forged anyway.
Hybrid is ideal for a 1/4 mile set up IMO?.. There's minimal wheel spin in 1st gear and plenty of poke to pull you through the revs 2nd 3rd and 4th.
I got 150 bhp and 184 torque at .6 bar boost! I'm now running 1.2 bar now and jesus christ it's a mental aggressive pull from 2,750 til 7,200.
I raced a Tongs hybrid, both of us at the same boost, rolling in second gear from 3,000rpm til 160 kph and it was identical, considering my gear changes were slightly quicker I pulled on him but there was no difference what so ever.
I got my full kit at a bargain, WEPR manifold, external wastegate, screamer pipe, speedvision gen2 hybrid turbo and WEPR downpipe.
I raced a 5E TD04 semi forged boosting 1.1 bar 1/4 mile and beat him by around 6 car lengths, I was only at .95 at the time.
Rolling at 40 mph in second gear a TD04 will pass you out mid way/the end of 4th gear but the rapid pull from 2,750 til the redline from the hybrid will outrun the TD04 because they lag down so much until 4,200 rpm.
That's my opinion anyway.. -
Genuine polished cusco BIG bore hotpipe.
Genuine ARC Gen1 top mounted intercooler with genuine green joiners? -
My CT9 speedvision Gen2 eats td04's on stock engine's and also on 5E semi forged, have videos to prove.
-
No I'm not using a RRFPR. Everything on the engine bay is standard.
Would an uprated fuel pump not fuck up fueling and over fuel it? -
Ign timing is perfect.
-
I've shafts.
-
Really? I'll PM you on facebook.
I'm running heat range 7 iridiums.
Nope I didn't.
