  1. It's actually getting quite scary!

I passed a shell this morning and was shocked to see the price for unleaded was 102.9p for unleaded and 107.9p for super unleaded!

    WTF!??!

The super unleaded is what I normally put in, but I might have to go for the cheap crappy stuff now! It isn't even the V-Power stuff either!

  2. Hit the nail on the head there Shelly!

    Balearic Blue.

    110Bhp, 110 Torques.

It marginally faster than my old car (10-15bhp more, but some 300kg heavier), but the extra torque it has makes it feel a good bit quicker and it picks up well from lower revs. Overall a lot easier to drive faster. Plus it handles a lot better.

    Overall very pleased with it.

    Thanks for the kind words!

  3. After starting a job which requires a 70 mile round trip each day it was time to retire the YRV for something a bit more capable of the daily commute. A disease-l would have made sense, but I wanted something that felt a bit sporty to drive - so it had to be a petrol.

And this is what I traded in the Daihatsu for...

    corolla.jpg

2006 Toyota Corolla SR 1.6 VVTi

Complete with multispoke alloys, front splitter, skirts, privacy glass and TTE spoiler.

Nothing too heavy planned on the mod side of things. Breathing and exhaust, wheels, suspension and interior will prob be the extent of it, but this isn't likely to get underway for a while yet due to finances - I've just bought a car you know!!

  4. wasnt 100% pleased with the 40mm drop i think 50mm would have looked abit better but it will just have to do lol

The SR is looking great dood!

I wouldn't drop the car any more, i think any lower and you'll start to get arch scrubbagge. Which is a right pain in the arse!

Just been checking out lisburn-cruise.co.uk there, seems to be a fair bit of activity already - and 145 so far! Good stuff!

I've just got myself a job in Lisburn round the corner from East Coast Customs - so I'm bound to spot you soon about soon.

Any week night meets happening in lisburn soon?

  5. Never tried it myself - but try some redex type stuff. Clear out all the crap in the engine.

Cold air feed might help a wee bit. I bought a tin foil oven exhuast from homebase for mine for £8, but you could steal tubing from anywhere.

Get really skinny wheels/tires less friction on the road = more speed.

Get rid of your seats, stereo, spare wheel, dashboard, gear knob, radio aerial, power steering, anything you don't care about having in your car.

Fill a large jar with any change less than 50p you have in your pocket each day. When you fill the jar use that money to by engine parts. You might only be able to buy a part every 6 months, but in the mean time you'll be too busy thinking of non-essential parts to strip off the car.
