I've sniffed the coolant, theres no smell and the water was clean. It doesnt really pressurise it, the coolant pipes dont go hard. But when the car is turned off you can here it bubbling, then it draws the water back out the overflow and into the rad. After a bit of though i think its air in the system....its not using water atall, just pressurising it, but only when hot.

Thats been tried, it still does it. But it only does it when its hot. If the block was cracked or the headgasket fucked then surely it would pressurise it all the time, not just when its hot.

Been changed recently. Also worth mentioning that it spits water out the overflow pipe even when the engine is off. Which tells me theres air in the coolent system. Is there a bleed valve anywhere on it?

They are a bit of a bugger to come off..i tried pullers but the edges kept breaking off. In the end i just hit it with a hammer as i was changing it anyway haha

He has a pump waiting, but i told him to get a timing belt aswell so we can do it whilst the engine is out. I doubt it very much, like i said the boy that had it before was a bit of a nob haha. He also ran it with a fucked headgasket for a while.

Mind you, the boy that owned the car before was careless and rough as fuck...could possibly be the head slightly warped?? Water pipes arnt pressurising, however i think his water pump is leaking, not sure if that would have anything to do with it.

Defo not the headgasket, its just been changed for a athena one. Hope its not a cracked block but as i said the headgasket was changed not long ago so the boy that changed it would have noticed

My mate has a problem with his gt, after driving anywhere the overflow starts filling up, it seems to be under pressure even when the car is off, like its spitting out of the overflow pipe. Any ideas what the cause would be?

I'm after the last few bits to get my engine totally finished now. I thought I might try and see if anyone has any used ones before I buy new. Need a purple hose kit, in good condition. Only want purple though. Lightweight pullys, again in purple but will consider any colour. Here is a list of the things I will want, to make it easier. Purple hoses Purple pulleys Alloy civic rad, with mounting brackets Solid shifter bushes A set of standard injectors There's probably a few more bits but I will update if and when I think of them.
