looks like it's gunna be a big job then i'm gunna take belts off when i get a chance and try that if it's still making that noise looks like i got start saving for a forged engine and i just sold one doh!!!

Yeh u have a point This sounds like a bearing of some sort. Its started again after i just been the gargage Belt on

Thats what i was thinking mate. Ive just fired it up and guess what the noise has gone lol but later it will probs be back again

I'm going to start my car up now haven't drove it since last night. So i'll get a video and see if it's still doing it. Hopefully its something simple.

So remove both belts?? Maybe do this when car is cold? Before firing up

Doesnt sound like a knock and sometimes it doesnt do it like earlier when i chnaged the pump fired it up no noise. Turned it off the. Back on and it came back.

it's not a knocking sound its a high pitched tapping

it's weird cause the car still runs fine i gave it a good thrash yesterday to the redline to blow some shit out as i haven't thrashed it in months as was still fine after and thats with it tapping like this

Really? the car pulls like a train still and no smoke at all not using water nothing... i was thinking like clutch release bearing or something

Hi guys i've just started having this gay ass tapping noise coming from near the power steering pump...now i have just changed the power steering pump and its still doing it but sometimes when i push the clutch in it gets quieter it's really pissing me off now as it's really loud plus when i pull off i get like a weird wheel spin kinda sound coming from that area aswell any ideas??? >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwspyPlh27c&feature=youtu.be

Looking good man have you order the bits for the engine you was saying about?? And that sump had loads of silcone stuff on it was so hard to get off even when all the bolts were out hahah
