GordR
Evening Team,I have a forged 4e running Ross pistons and a 1.4mm Gasket. The engine is making a solid 150-155 across all cylinder. All figures very close. However!I plan to run a billet TD04 and looking for max response. Considering swapping the 1.4mm Gasket for a 0.6 Gasket to try and raise the compression. However dont want to compromise the level of boost I can run. Will be running decent management and fueling. Thoughts?
jayc-glanza17
I run .6mm hg.Omex 600 ecuTd05 18g at 1.8bar no problems.Comoression is 8.5.
GordR
Just read some notes on the engine, it has been skimmed 10thouWill clearance be ok with a .6 mm gasket?
mikey4410
this guy knows ^ | 1.8 bar is an incredible amount of boost to run. some of it is also down to the tune obviously
GordR
Who mapped it Jay?
5e colin
its not the engine but who is confident in mapping big boost high compression even with a 0.6mm gasket your going to be around 180 190psi wich aint high dec face and a head skim or 2 will spike the compression ( optional )
jayc-glanza17
Atspeed racing.Colin thorndyke mapped mine.Writes the omex software so he knows them inside out.his 106 turbo was in the 9s on compression and had over 400bhp.The tune is key..As are cylinder pressures..You should be fine with that skim gord
GordR
Thanks for the info Jay.Sounding like an option then, for what I am looking for responsiveness is key
