Jordk
Recently I've had to strip my forged engine to have the valve springs uprated (due to valve float/bounce) and ended up getting the whole thing freshened up as well. One problem with refreshing everything is I don't know what thickness the head gasket is (lost my records!). Measuring wise what's the best/most accurate way to measure these? Clamp with something and mic it?I believe its an Athena gasket.

fiddlersport
some guys have re-used the mls head gasket and they also have been sold a few times (sales threads) any part numbers on these gaskets ?
Jordk
Can't see any numbers etc on it. Or have I maybe missed it? Or does the number of layers possibly dictate the thickness or would it be the same number of layers but each a different thickness? If that makes any sense...
starletezy
There is no way of telling no serial numbers on the actual gasket as well I have an old 1.2 mm Antena gasket here can measure it for you if it helps out
AdamB
Who built the engine? Has it got aftermarket cams?
Ollieh17
Top and bottom layer is the same size and middle 'spacer' is what changes. With the MLS ive experience on a different car anyway.
