turbo-fever
Does anything need to be done to a turbo to run anti lag as strength wise ? Like billet wheel etc ?
AdamB
Nope, nothing.
turbo-fever
So anti lag can be run on any turbo just shortens the lifespan lol
Starlet__SR
Do you really need it??
turbo-fever
Not particularly was thinking more for track being a td05 it is quite laggy
Starlet__SR
Not particularly was thinking more for track being a td05 it is quite laggy Wouldnt you be better off with a smaller turbo? Something that gives you a broader powerband rather than the limited burst the TD05 will offer? Edited April 16, 2016 by Starlet__SR
turbo-fever
This is true, might sound strange but the car isn't purely track I want to track it but I also want a large amount of power otherwise I would go td04
AdamB
Can't use anti lag on trackdays as far as I'm aware.
Starlet__SR
This is true, might sound strange but the car isn't purely track I want to track it but I also want a large amount of power otherwise I would go td04 TD04 Will provide more than enough power for what you need. You might gain more power at the top end, but the TD04 will give you a better spread of usable power. A quick car isnt necessarily the most powerful.
turbo-fever
I know this is true it's just what I want, I havnt seen many td04s crack the 300 mark and there's probably only 500 rpm difference in turbos spool wise. I might get bored of the 05 one day and decide I want a better response turbo until then POWER ! Lol
starletezy
An billet td04 will get you past 300hp an td05 has massive lag unless you do head work to suit it
turbo-fever
Seen a few td04 billets at 300 and the odd ones at 310 but that's it and I have a 5e to help with some of the lag
starletezy
Max I have seen so far from an billet td04 is 320hp which is pretty good what power you looking to run?
turbo-fever
There aren't many at 320 which means it isn't a general rule that every billet td04 will get 320. Well was hoping to get close to 340 but will depend on the boost, rebuilt td05 16g billet wheel and updated journal bearing. Don't get me wrong I like the td04 my old starlet ran one but the punch you get from an 05 lol

If you're spending serious money, you may aswell get the right kit.
turbo-fever
I'm not spending serious money the price of a gt series I can rebuild my 05 and spend the rest on decent handling upgrades
starletezy
I would go for an greddy td05 16g I have ran both td04 and td05 I prefure the response of the td04 but all depends on what your using it for the td05 once fully kicked is nice lol
turbo-fever
Also the right kit ? Plenty of people using td05 even td06s on track also down to preference
daniel_g
Get a BB VF series turbo, means you can get the power you want and keep your mani etc.
starletezy
That also plays a part yes good exhuast flow to the turbo spoke to couple people that have ran td05 on track and didn't like the lag when on and off acceleration Edited April 16, 2016 by starletezy
turbo-fever
Which is why I asked about anti lag wondered if anyone has tried running td05 with anti lag on track
starletezy
Heard of someone running anti lag on an td04 setup before haven't seen it done to a td05 no
