Soeedo converter

Hi guys

I know there's been a few threads on this but I can't seem to find the answer I'm after. So I want to convert my Glanza. Now all I want in MPH is the dials. The odometer can stay in KM's. A friend said I can just change the dial overlays but after looking on here there's a lot of people mentioning a converter that plugs into the gearbox. So I'm wondering can I just change the dials or would I need the converter even if I don't want to change the odometer? thanks all
